Obviously people have their own views on this, but I genuinely don’t see this as anything terrible. Dancing to music is a nightclub is simply fun. I enjoy it a great deal, all the more so because as you older it’s an increasingly rare experience. Dancing with other people is also fun because you’re sharing in the experience.
William and Kate met at university, at a university town, and in their early years were often spotted out, together or alone, with their friends at nightclubs. Going out and having fun used to be a normal experience for them, and their relationship clearly survived those experiences. Plenty of pictures out there of them dancing with other people then, too. I obviously don’t know them, but I imagine that they are each comfortable that they know what the other gets up to on a night out and are secure with their relationship in that knowledge - they wouldn’t have made it through their 20s if they weren’t.
So here we have William - normally living in a public fishbowl, away on a ski weekend and having the opportunity to have fun. I wouldn’t be seething in Kate’s shoes, I’d be pleased for him.
As I said, this was an evening in a public place, parts of it were filmed and sold, and the worst anyone can say is that William was dancing with a woman. And…? Some of you sound like the horrified matrons in a Georgette Heyer novel, affronted because the young people are waltzing and that man is holding the woman’s waist. Scandalous! 🤣
