The royal family

Will H&M be invited to the coronation in May? And will they have the brass (or frostbitten😩) balls to attend?

www.theguardian.com/uk/2013/jan/22/afghanistan-taliban-response-prince-harry

This was the Talibans opinion of him 10 years ago & I agree. They're not far wrong.

Wow.
The Afghan Taliban knew exactly who Harry is.
As in, Thoughtless and not very bright.

I’d read that Harry was well protected by other Servicemen , and kept far from danger.

Unlike a young man who was commemorated on a Bench in a park.

I noticed how young the person named on the memorial bench was- and Googled his name.

He was a Serviceman , front line and eye to eye with the ā€œEnemyā€.

No way would Harry have been put at risk like that.

Is Harry now to the Royals what Trump is to the political system? An insider who’s gone rogue and doesn’t play by the rules leading to panic in the relevant establishment…

At a Coronation dont Dukes and Duchess's wear all their fine robes and coronets ?

If so Megan will lap it up.

Kate will look magnificent as ever.

Most Duchesses will have access to a family tiara. As will all the Royal women. Will they let Meghan borrow one?
And produce it on demand for a session with her hairdresser?

Cranberrystreet · 06/01/2023 08:53

What? Could the royal family have possibly anticipated Harry bring thick enough to include the 25 figure in this pathetic book, making the security threat even worse?

Are you saying that the RF wouldn't have been briefed about threats to the security of W and H and any circumstances that would influence that? I find that highly unlikely. Especially as senior royals hold ceremonial ranks in the forces; roles which require them to be well informed.

And as mentioned previously, he wasn't boasting when he mentioned the figures as has been suggested by the tabloids, he was reflecting on how modern military equipment confronts you with a figure whether you like it or not.

And the Taliban would have been well aware of Harry's role in Afghanistan at the time of his deployment. Why else would he have been removed from the front line?

Goodread1 · 06/01/2023 08:54

I think Prince Harry is either as brick outer house outside toilet or its manipulative ploy to ensure he gets maximum security,
With his bombshell revelation he killed 25 taliban people,

mpsw · 06/01/2023 08:59

The Taliban doesn't have much capability to mount large operations beyond its borders (and doesn't really go in for that), he capability of others is not as great as it was.

The risk is of 'lone wolf' type attacks (which is what all recent ones have been) and those sorts of things are factored in to risk assessments carried out by RAVEC. Remember Harry first confirmed he had killed back in 2013. The only new detail is the number (which seems shocking, but is actually quite low for 4 months operations by an Apache - it's what they did out there)

Harry's JR is seeking to examine if RAVEC is competent in its decision making. If it is, then they will continue to assess his needs on a case by case visit for every visit. New information (number of claimed kills) reaching the public domain would of course be considered - along with any other information - before his next visit. If it isn't, then either RAVEC will be changed or replaced, and the new competent body will do the same thing.

As Harry has visited UK without incident since this style of assessment applied, I conclude he does not actually think its an insuperable barrier to visiting. He'd be under the umbrella of royal security for most events surrounding the Coronation though. And Frogmore (like the Royal Lodge) would be easy to secure with a private team. That just leaves coverage for private visits and airport runs, and as long as they are careful with timings of announcements (and leak proof) that could be properly covered by a private team. His former Private Secretary has many connections into that world, so he would be able to hire a very good team

They need to go, 100 million with their ridiculous lifestyle only lasts so long! How else will sell the story to us on how badly he was treated?

Yes they do plus Harry will have to kneel before KC and swear fealty ( think that’s the word) . Meghan will somehow have to manage to sit apart from Harry during the event . Can’t imagine much chit chat between her and Kate .

oakleaffy · 06/01/2023 09:03

An injured Serviceman who knows Harry says this:

ā€œLove you #PrinceHarry but you need to shut up! Makes you wonder the people he’s hanging around with. If it was good people somebody by now would have told him to stop.ā€

It's on Archie's bday?

Wow-what a great present-trip to London to see Grandpa crowned King!

She could borrow the Spencer tiara

Sweetpeasaremadeforbees · 06/01/2023 09:13

Since dukes appear to play quite a large role in the coronation I would imagine (assuming he has been invited) he can't leave his decision until the last minute. In the ITV interview he appears to say that a lot can happen between now and May, but there will surely come a point when the organisers will say we need to know NOW. And then he'll no doubt whinge that he was left out.

I agree with pps that the date was actually chosen to give M and H the chance to use Archie's birthday as a good excuse to stay away. I think it would be better for everyone (including the British public) if they stay away.

I wonder what the Spencers think of this shitshow ?

vera99 · 06/01/2023 09:15

I will be taking part in the Stuff the Coronation protests and when H&M come to visit us as they so obviously will we will cheer them to the rafters and Harry can share a can and a spliff with a crusty.😁

Brightstar84 · 06/01/2023 09:16

If they have ANY grace or class whatsoever they should stay away.

utter twats

But more a Kingsman than a Bond.

I don't think the public will have much support for them after this latest money making sell out. The revelations reportedly in book about 'H' and his frostnipped penis, mounting a cougar, not being circumcised etc will give rise to some new nicknames. I doubt W will speak to him again. H looks like he could do with a laugh, don't think he's laughed since 2015.

Let me guess. Willy had the snip and Harold is jealous as he wasn't done?? šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø

EdithWeston · 06/01/2023 09:24

I doubt anyone is panicking.

I expect they're rather concerned for Harry, especially as he's make himself a laughing stock. When you've loved and protected someone for nearly all their life, whatever faults along the way, it's hard to see them making avoidable mistakes.

By that I mean the oversharing (sexual and number of kills) and the level of intrusion into other people's privacy (own petard), not enduring silence

ceecee32 · 06/01/2023 09:25

I saw, and a quick Google seems to confirm, that all Dukes are required to bear their allegiance to the King

"I, N. Duke, or Earl, etc., of N.
do become your liege man of life and limb,
and of earthly worship;
and faith and truth I will bear unto you,
to live and die, against all manner of folks.
So help me God.

If he attends I hope the words choke him

BFR · 06/01/2023 09:56

I'm a veteran, I can not believe the Taliban deaths comment. He's completely and utterly crossed the line. Putting a target not only his back but his familys'. He's a complete muppet.

I believe he will be invited to the coronation and I think he will come. He obviously doesn't believe how hated he is.

It would be wonderful if the British public didn't boo him but just silently turn their backs on him as he walks/drives passed.

He's a traitor to his country and to his comrades.

ShamedBySiri · 06/01/2023 10:10

Charles Spencer has a Duchess does he not? She will be wearing the Spencer tiara. Even if they would consider lending to Meghan - there's no evidence they have done before, or if any warm relationship with that part of the family.

Hbh17 · 06/01/2023 10:13

I think they will be invited but I sincerely hope they decline.

Question about the Spencer family is interesting. I'm sure they love Harry, but he seems to have ditched them too. They are a family with long term service to the Crown. Jane is married to the Queen's former PS. I suspect they will all be horrified at what Harry has done, just as Diana would have been. It is said that Earl Spencer tried to warn Harry about rushing into the marriage and I think that even he (Earl S) has now moved on from his anger in 1997.

ShamedBySiri · 06/01/2023 10:19

It is a bit tricky however, tiaras apart, as surely Charles will want both his sons there, and as King it would be expected both sons would be present. There's the matter of swearing allegiance for one thing but also the matter of line of succession. As things stand Harry comes after the Cambridge family, fifth in line. Heaven forbid something terrible happen - how could he be King now? Although no doubt Meghan would love to be Queen. I'm reminded of that classic comedy Kind Hearts and Coronets. They should do a remake starring Meghan. Anyway the line of succession surely needs to be addressed? And if they don't come and swear loyalty does that have implications with regard to succession?

ShamedBySiri · 06/01/2023 10:23

Re Kind Hearts and Coronets there was an excellent radio play "Like Father Like Daughter" with a female descendant working her way to the top. Just the job for Meghan. Grin
