The royal family

Will H&M be invited to the coronation in May? And will they have the brass (or frostbitten😩) balls to attend?

That is the million dollar question?!

Or he released this information on purpose to prove he needs protection in the U.K. at the taxpayers expense?

Exactly the reason - will those colleagues also pictured with him from that time be afforded the same protection I wonder…

SilverGlitterBaubles · 06/01/2023 06:40

They will be invited but given the negative reaction to this they will not come. I imagine that they would be booed by the crowds and their presence would be a security risk. For someone so concerned about his own and his family's safety his claims about the Taliban were really dumb. He is obviously not very bright and very poorly advised.

^This of course. He is in total toddler destruction mode.

They will come. They need to collect the material for their career.

sashagabadon · 06/01/2023 07:36

I think the best solution is they get invited but graciously decline. But I reckon they will come. Harry maybe thinks ( delusionally) that they want him there for pr purposes and so he has the upper hand when I bet it’s the opposite. He was not going to attend the jubilee until the security was sorted but when that backfired he came anyway

TodayInahurry · 06/01/2023 07:37

I am sure they want to come Meagain could buy a $100,000 Chanel gown and a tiara and be followed everywhere by a Netflix camera!

Nurserymumm · 06/01/2023 07:40

How can they possibly be invited, surely there's no going back now...

He's revealed conversations from after Philip's funeral. He's revealed the words he spoke to his dead grandmother. He has no respect fir privacy ir decency. Who would ever, could ever, speak to him, knowing anything they might say might be repeated or twisted to serve his own narrative?

Inkanta · 06/01/2023 07:43

The Coronation might not be greatly important anymore.

picklemewalnuts · 06/01/2023 07:53

Does anyone have a duty of care for this guy? It's shocking that he simultaneously wants rapprochement and yet spills his guts in ways that embarrass everyone, not just the firm. Anyone who has ever spoken to him must be feeling twitchy about what he's going to say next. His army colleagues...

Is this just normal banter in boarding school and barracks? Is that why the tone is so inappropriate?

From what I am reading , many Veterans and current members of The Forces are horrified by Harry’s comments . I wonder if it dawned on him that he was making not just himself a target but his fellow veterans?

And absolutely they’ll be booed.

They will be booed. But that will be more grist to their mill - see how much the UK public are racist/unwelcoming/toxic, we have to be safe in California to tell our truth blah blah blah.

I hope if they DO come they are seated right at the veeeeerry back, behind all the dukes and earls and lords nobody's heard of.

picklemewalnuts · 06/01/2023 08:18

I don't think anything dawns on him about other people. He's developed an extreme self interest, because of his fear of being overlooked.

And then they will write a book on it

This

Roselilly36 · 06/01/2023 08:22

Yes they will be invited, and yes they will attend, more material for the next series & book.

Inkanta · 06/01/2023 08:24

Do the general public want a coronation and see Charles as King?

sweatyannie · 06/01/2023 08:28

At a Coronation dont Dukes and Duchess's wear all their fine robes and coronets ?

If so Megan will lap it up.

Kate will look magnificent as ever.

Cranberrystreet · 06/01/2023 08:30

Surely the point is that the RF, owing to their close connections to the military, would have already known about the number of Taliban that Harry had killed, and therefore already knew that he and his family would be a target. And even though they knew that, they were still haggling about his protection.

What? Could the royal family have possibly anticipated Harry bring thick enough to include the 25 figure in this pathetic book, making the security threat even worse?

But you can't buck the system and still expect the system to provide. There were things to sort out, but you can't sort it out from outside the system. If you need the system, then you can't just jump outside!

Exactly

ImBlueDab · 06/01/2023 08:34

Charles will invite them, if they attend it's more fodder for the 16547th book, if they don't, they'll look like petulant children.

Tbh they really would have to have balls of steel to attend. I can't imagine turning up to a family gathering for my Dad after slagging everyone off, and sharing personal info about my family on sm. I think I'd get told to 'do one' then kicked out.

MareAndSpare · 06/01/2023 03:24

He hasn’t put himself at risk as much as increased the risks to everyone attending.

He might get invited to the Coronation, go and it is fine. But for the rest of his life he has raised the risk of reprisals from Taliban-sympathisers. Islamic extremists aren’t known for their short memories - just ask Salman Rushdie (who killed exactly no one).

She could wear a headcam in her tiara.

EdithWeston · 06/01/2023 08:45

Yes of course he'll be invited. Andrew will also be invited.

For both are Royal Dukes (as well as close family to the new king) and need to be given the opportunity - along with other senior peers - of swearing allegiance.

Given Harry's views on the Institution, then I wouldn't be surprised if he was disinclined to be there. But I expect he'll come. If he doesn't I doubt he'll ever set foot here again.

The shame is that I doubt anyone will want to spend time with him (other than at larger gatherings with plenty of third parties around) out of concern over his level of discretion. He is putting some immensely unwise things in to the public domain.
