The royal family

Surely this is the death knell for the Royal Family?

Surely its now over for the Royal Family. Any notion that they are in some way special or noble is completely gone now. They have all gravitas of a problem family on Jeremy Kyle. Why would anyone bow to them or look up to them is beyond me. There is no longer anything regal about them!

How would Harry know? I doubt William told him.

So his own brother doesn't know yet YOU do?

Wibble 😂

Yesthatismychildsigh · 06/01/2023 00:08

Not yet, but things aren’t going to get long term better, so let’s hope so.

Forfrigz · 06/01/2023 00:08

Just smacks of desperation, to think they've been acting our like this for a good 2+ years now. I'm no royalist but have to time for autobiographies full of spite written by someone who's barely lived half a life. Should have titled it 'Ginger Whinger'.

Benjispruce4 · 06/01/2023 00:10

@BMW6 If he doesn’t have proof of the affair how can he write about it? You seem to have proof the assault didn’t happen yet call William the conqueror.
Why so keen to protect ?

Noonesperfect · 06/01/2023 00:11

Not to me, he is standing up for his wife and staff, he's got backbone 👏👏👏

But when Harry sticks up for his wife that's not ok Confused

I'm a foreigner living in the UK for 7 years now so I'm seeing all this bruaha from an outsiders point of view. I'm a spaniard (if that matters). The perception of this soap opera in my country (I read Spanish press every day and I'm part of many wassap groups of friends and family at home) Is that queen Elizabeth was well respected and managed to hold the institution together in a dignified manner, but now that she's dead a circus of clowns seem to have taken over the stage and it's not looking good for them. The British tabloids who traditionally have been a pillar of the monarchy are having a field day with more to come for the next years. In the meanwhile Brits cannot get back to work because of the transport strikes, meanwhile millions of Brits queue for food banks, as they choose between eating and heating. The realisation that monarchy is something obsolete that doesn't belong to the 21st century is brewing slowly.

I am originally from Spain, 100% Spanish. Please, do not speak on my behalf. You are voicing an opinion; mine is different. Neither you nor I can claim our perceptions or opinions are universal.

Harry is a little bit of a twat, btw. IMHO

Only royal worth respect is Anne.

This always amuses me given her fuckwittery with her dogs.

Any other royal who was actually convicted when their dog bit a child, and had another dog went on to kill one of the corgis, would have been lambasted forever.

Yet with Anne it’s all forgotten

Blossomtoes · 06/01/2023 00:13

You manage it.

Benjispruce4 · 06/01/2023 00:16

Looking back at the antics of various Royal Families all over the world, and over the last few hundred years, I'd almost expect this. No matter how blue the blood, families are families, made up of humans, and they get messy. Some have gotten messy to the point of imploding, others have not. The only real difference is that those messes are now played out on television, on the world stage.

He’s crying over his broken necklace, then bragging about killing 25 people calling them “chess pieces”.

Jesus, he has no self awareness at all does he!

There are only 16 chess pieces opposing you.

Not a good choice of metaphor!

Do you mean the end of the House of Windsor or the end of Britain’s constitutional monarchy? Because those are two very different things.

Dibbydoos · 06/01/2023 00:25

He's only done what royals did before him and shaggy someone behind a pub in a field. And it's likely what a lot of people have done too.

I don't know why he included it - whoever the editor is hasn't done a great job - but he hasn't done anything other humans have done, so I don't care.

I would like to see the royal family gone though. I mean they shouldn't be on the Throne when Richard III or Mary Queen of Scots families are still around.... Philips family were married to fg Nazis fgs!

Wineat5isfine · 06/01/2023 00:25

If anything, I think it may be the opposite. Goodness knows what H is currently thinking, but the revelations from todays news clearly show that he is unravelling without grace, and definitely isn’t a viable or stable candidate to front the charities that he is currently trying to support.

I am from an Armed Forces family - no soldier I know has ever talking about their war experience, in any shape or form.

Losing his virginity with that level of detail ?

Blaming W&K for his Nazi costume?

Stating that his father cracked jokes about maybe not being his father!

🤯

Do you have proof of his adultery??

Keen to protect? Why are you so keen to slander?

“It is better to remain silent and thought of a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.”
About sums it up.

This is very true generally and totally apt re Harry.

Thing is, you'd need a major blind spot to think the royal family are there because of their inherent superiority in this day and age. Those people are unlikely to change their mind and everyone else who supports the monarchy already knew they weren't good people.

This won't change a thing, nothing would: there is no legal mechanism for removal of Royal Powers without the King's consent. Charles could (in theory) convert the CofE to Islam, sack the cabinet and declare martial law tomorrow- he'd have much more legal basis for that than the government would have trying to remove him.

I think this bickering is minor compared to Charles' financial corruption, Andrew's sex assault, Charles' lobbying of ministers, Harry's racism, Charles' affair, Prince Phillip's racism, Charles' selling of honours.....and so on.

No way, they are comedy gold at the minute. Harry is just the best … who the fuck ‘mounts’ anyone. Wyld Stallyns 🐎

Where did you see this? V funny and in answer to your question op, emphatic nope.

Why are you embarrassed? They have zero impact on your life.

Marshmallowmountain · 06/01/2023 00:47

The opposite for me OP. I think they’ve done terribly well to stay dignified whilst dealing with these two narcissistic idiots.

This will strengthen William and Catherine. They should maintain a dignified silence and not comment. Take the high road. Everyone knows that all families have arguments but we don’t blurt them out for money. Harry was always vulnerable. Unfortunately he has found a wife that doesn’t nurture him but lets that vulnerability loose. That vulnerability that people who actually care for him have been trying to protect for years. William and Kate need to keep calm and carry on. Harry will burn out. It’s sad to watch.

Staying silent IMO is cowardly. Defend yourself if there is no truth in it.
