I know there are loads of threads, but thought it may be useful to set up a bookclub thread ahead of the release date fir those interested. I've ordered the audiobook as struggling to find time to read at the moment but love I can listen to an Audiobook while cooking etc

I know we can but hope Harry realises it isn't #kind or #authentic to act like he is.

Agree, it isn't #kind or #authentic to act like this and certainly not #compassionate

“Compassion is at the core of everything we do. We hope you’ll join us in building a better world, one act of compassion at a time.”

Like heck is compassion at their core.

But their popularity is NOT rising is it? They are being noticed for the wrong reasons. Some of these Sussex supporters must have dipped into Harry's stash.

No you are looking at it from a limited perspective.
Uk polls are irrelevant to them.
They are out of that game . That was the whole point

Then why is he so obsessed with the UK media?

Novella4 · 14/01/2023 14:28

After all these threads do you really need to ask that question??

To expose the MSM's corrupt practices and the 'royals' both using their connections to brief against each other and also that the 'royals' live in fear of the media turning and revealing all ( they will turn and sooner than they think)

At the bit about the first texts with Meghan where he keeps saying "hey"..... cringey! Also why keep calling her the American & not Meghan?

OK, but Harry made it sound like Ajay was sitting around all morning twiddling his thumbs, when in reality he was stressed out of his mind and staying up to 4am for several nights to get the alterations done. No wonder Kate was stressed and worried they were running out of time to get Charlotte's dress altered - it was far too big.

It was far too big?

Tom Bower says it was far too short.

Which is it???

MechanicaHound · 14/01/2023 14:55

I know Kate will never text Meghan again

Yep. Nor will anyone else. Noone can trust him.

What a fool he's been.

'Betrayal is awful in familes and hats off to anyone who calls it out - calls it out and means and it'

Yes betrayal is awful. Good on the rf for not rising to it. Their popularity increases, Harry is left looking like a bitter resentful prat. Well, 'even more like' I should say.

Absolutely.

Harry's dug his own grave and the rest of the RF have come out looking far better.

It was a spectacular own goal. But maybe he's just on a downward spiral of destruction, that's the impression I get.

RegainingTheWill2023 · 14/01/2023 15:09

Meghan's text said. "Why don't you take Charlotte to Jay to have it altered LIKE all the other mums are doing, he has been waiting since 8 am" Kate then said "Fine"

You are quoting the account Harry gives @Coucous . These are not the words of either Meghan or Kate whether spoken or in text!!

Sayitagainmyl · 14/01/2023 15:13

The rest of the RF have come out looking far better.

Only to those limited few that had high regard for them in the first place. For us younger adults, the royal family is at best an irrelevance; at worst, a corrupt institution. I don’t see them surviving for too much longer once their core supporter base are no more.

Now at Charles and Camilla meeting Megan. Harry instructs her not to curtsy to Camilla, would that have been rude?

'Young people see things differently'

Sometimes young people change their minds as they get older and experience more of the world.

That doesn’t appear to be the case. Only 31% of 18-24 year olds actively want a republic. That falls with age.

Based on what? I don't know of anyone who has filled in that survey.

The methodology is clearly explained in the link. It’s based on data, not anecdote.

Sayitagainmyl · 14/01/2023 15:58

Was it not based on a sample of 1,700 adults? That is not large enough to be representative of a national population of over 67 million. Which means the survey is meaningless. Out of interest, how many young people in this small sample were in favour of the royal family?

The tailor had to MAKE it shorter from the awfulness it was. It was the only thing they could do to save it from the awful "bespoke" tailoring done by Givency. When you have to alter an item of clothing, depending on what needs doing, if it's too big you are able to cut down and reduce the fabric and often re-use to retailor to a specific shape/style.

Yes. It was huge and baggy.

On another note why were they using a French designer? I thought they had to keep it British. I know Diana did.

J R Moehringer is a Pulitzer Prize winning writer and the extracts I've heard are well written .
Most surprising for me ( based on the dull wooden 'royals' public speaking ) Harry reads very well - better than some professional readers I've endured on audible

I wish Harry would read sleep stories for the Calm app.

That sample size can definitely be representative in terms of numbers as long as they used the stratified random sampling method.

Blossomtoes · 14/01/2023 17:24

The graph couldn’t be much clearer.

33% of 18-24 year olds, 36% don’t know
56% of 25-49 year olds, 17% don’t know.

BornBlonde · 14/01/2023 17:24

Also the bit where Meghan meets the Queen & co at Royal Lodge is so weird! Surely Fergie and Andrew should have introduced Andrew and their friend so everyone had been introduced? Such bad manners!
