I know there are loads of threads, but thought it may be useful to set up a bookclub thread ahead of the release date fir those interested. I've ordered the audiobook as struggling to find time to read at the moment but love I can listen to an Audiobook while cooking etc

Not available on Audible until 10th Jan. I had some spare credits so decided to order it. I don't think I would have paid for it if I'm honest but interested to see the context of the things that have been released. Hearing him say the things about his virginity might make me die of cringe though 😬

I have done this too! I would not pay to listen to it and I doubt I will even listen for free.

My issue with it is that he has some child inappropriate descriptions so I cannot simply play it while the children are wandering about and I am cooking or tidying up. He has a slow, clear voice, they always stop and listen when he speaks on TV. There are certain details I do not want to have to explain and no way of knowing when they will come up!

I'm not paying for the book because it's a waste of money but I'll follow for the detail.

Naughty, but if you have a kindle you can read it then can return it and get a full refund within a certain number of days!

I wonder how this works with an autobiography - how does he switch from the verbatim in quotes back to narrative?

And will he put expression and emotion in?

Also how will be represent Willys voice in the audio?

If he tells fibs then there will be 'experts' who may be able to pick it up from listening to him. It must be the longest thing that he will ever read in his life, bless him 😅

If the English version of certain stories ie the capes in Lesotho, mounted her! etc could be confirmed that would be v kind.

Surprising too that Amazon have dispatched copies already Harper Collins must be livid that their v carefully planned launch has gone so wrong.

The timings have gone badly wrong. Unless you are being paid, you will need weeks to listen to fifteen hours of audiobook plus two TV interviews while getting on with a busy life. I know that it is not specifically aimed at my demographic but even the hundreds of threads scattergunning on the Royal Family board make me feel 😣

I thought I would be able to pass the time on the train this morning listening to it, but doesn't seem to have been released on Audible yet?

So at Prince Philip’s funeral, he claims that William (and Charles - through looks) told him they didn’t understand why they had left. He feels they were being honest and genuine about this and it made him feel alone, like they didn’t know him, never had, and maybe he didn’t know himself either. He couldn’t tell them there because they weren’t in the right frame of mind and it would take too long.

This book is how he is telling them, and the world.
