I know there are loads of threads, but thought it may be useful to set up a bookclub thread ahead of the release date fir those interested. I've ordered the audiobook as struggling to find time to read at the moment but love I can listen to an Audiobook while cooking etc

Someone asked why private messages were shared? For the purposes of showing the truth - the same truth that could have been told by the RF to protect Meghan
But they were not verbatim messages so they are not "the truth". @Coucous
That's the whole point.
Most people are happy to accept it was an extremely stressful time for everyone and Givenchy screwed up. No single person was party to every element of the events to provide objective facts. And every person involved brings their individual experience, perspective and insight. Just as Harry acknowledges in the foreword of his book.
You can't expect readers to accept his explanation of how variable his memory can be whilst at the same time believe that he is the font of "the truth".

MrsMaxDeWinter · 14/01/2023 12:46

Has anyone come to the section where the Bee (Edward Young) the Queen's private secretary lies about a printer not working and is then busted.

Really hope Peter Morgan makes the Sandringham Summit into a film. Or an additional session of The Crown.

This is the danger the RF is blind to. Like Diana's, this story is capable of living on, in different incarnations. It makes sense for all sides to meet plan nice, and then the story becomes one of unity and healing bla bla.

@Inkanta

"I imagine he's sick to the back teeth of royal fakeness and pretending "

Yes I agree with you here . I think that's what I was getting at re the apology - an acknowledgment of how he was treated.
I'm a life long republican but even I could see there was always an authenticity about Harry .
More so now but he was always different from the rest of those grifters

'Someone asked why private messages were shared? For the purposes of showing the truth - the same truth that could have been told by the RF to protect Meghan.'

Ah so you obviously support Markle senior 'sharing' his letter, that was afterall for the purpose of 'showing the truth'. Some pals had blabbed to the US media and he wanted to correct it. Or are you like Harold, ok for the Sussexes to do it but no one else?

It's just utter hypocrisy which we've seen time and time again with this egotistical pair.

🤣🤣

An 'authenticity'.

I'm only at the wedding of someone called Guy. I think he was the one that owned/ran some well known club

The fact that they had never shared the texts before or tried to send anything to the press to correct the narrative makes me respect them. There's only so much people can do before you push them over the edge

Yes I think that was the last straw for Harry. Another betrayal, and enough was enough and the gloves came off. Betrayal is awful in familes and hats off to anyone who calls it out - calls it out and means and it.

Your question to me is unrelated to my post. You have also phrased in such a way that it assumes a "truth" that Harry's book and interviews doesn't verify.

Some posters on here sound exactly like they are members of a cult - WTAF!!🤣

They could all have sent rude messages, but that wouldn't fit Harry and Meghan's narrative.

Yes betrayal is awful. Good on the rf for not rising to it. Their popularity increases, Harry is left looking like a bitter resentful prat. Well, 'even more like' I should say.

Ohgodthepain · 14/01/2023 13:12

But ok for them to lie about having nothing to do with the Finding Freedom book .

I'm glad their popularity is rising. Hope it means they though the press don't have to take continuous pot shots at a family that is far, far away.

Also hope this rise in popularity means more threads on MN about the other, popular ones, and fewer about unpopular Meghan.

But something tells me not.

You have to wonder what kind of people need to constantly do someone down to make others seem popular.

oreste · 14/01/2023 13:19

But their popularity is NOT rising is it? They are being noticed for the wrong reasons. Some of these Sussex supporters must have dipped into Harry's stash.

Rhondaa · 14/01/2023 13:23

'You have to wonder what kind of people need to constantly do someone down to make others seem popular.'

I know we can but hope Harry realises it isn't #kind or #authentic to act like he is.

derxa · 14/01/2023 13:24

More so now but he was always different from the rest of those grifters He's the grifter par excellence.

Ohgodthepain · 14/01/2023 13:24

It's so hard to pick the truth out of this , we don't know the full conversation, whether it's an accurate, truthful account or what was said before or even if the other mums were also frustrated. Maybe Kate had actually called Meghan at the time of the fitting and Charlotte could be heard crying in the background 🤷‍♀️

It's a weird game - an abusive game. Harry is exposing the game.
