Harry killed 25 people in Afghanistan and is upset about being thrown on a dog bowl?

Can't get my head around this honestly. I understand combat is different but I always got the impression that it's mostly strategic work and only a limited percentage of soldiers actually end up killing. A few lives would be bad enough but 25?!! Those were all sons, brothers, husbands and fathers as well.

But yeah, boohoo that he was pushed onto a dog bowl by his older brother and then paid millions and millions to portray himself as a victim of violence.

Bit of an odd thing to tell people. I have friend who was in the marines , no idea how many people he killed but I do no he killed a person in hand to had combat as it traumatised him and he has awful ptsd .

I'd think it would still be upsetting to be attacked by your brother though

😂😂😂

More likely, they killed themselves to make it stop.

Like this!:

Sorry feeling linkey today.

MarshaMelrose · 05/01/2023 19:58

@JimDixon Hahaha. Yes, EXACTLY like that.

Isn't that information a security threat ?

Well I guess people knew he'd been to war so it was already out ther.

SnottyLottie · 05/01/2023 19:59

I mentioned this is another thread, but I once dated someone serving in the US Air Force.

I was being nosey and morbid, and asked him had he killed anyone. He gave me a brief “yes”. I pushed it further (again I fully admit to being a nosey, morbid fucker) and asked him how many. He replied “don’t know, probably a lot, I don’t keep count” and was clearly annoyed by my asking. I took note and felt very ashamed when I realised he clearly thought keeping count of people you have killed is morbid and odd.

I wouldn’t be surprised if some people in the armed service would see this as a stealth boast and not like hearing/seeing it.

And that’s not even mentioning the giant target he’s made himself amongst radicalised Islamists and others.

I've certainly had massive rows with siblings. Maybe a push here and there

Beyond childhood (the pushing bit)?

He claims he’s an anti racist yet doesn’t see the Afghan men he killed as people. I seriously doubt he would feel that way if they were white.

He called a colleague, 'my Paki friend', so not sure how antiracist!

Coolheadedbird · 05/01/2023 20:05

Constantly in law suits suing people for anything they say because they perceive it in their fragile minds as insults of great proportions no matter how small and insignificant. And it pays as well.

I said in a post this morning, after the first reveal of the argument, and before the later leaks, that no adults should lay their hands on others and William was most definitely in the wrong. I still stand by that. But as these leaks have unfolded and we get a deeper look into Harry's psyche, he must be an annoying tosser to listen to and deal with. It doesnt excuse William, if it did actually happen like H describes (which I doubt), but it sure makes me more sympathetic to the urge to want to smack him in the mouth.

caringcarer · 05/01/2023 20:06

I don't even believe Harry. DH has a friend who was serving for some time with Harry and he reckons Harry was kept out of harm's way whilst he was there anyway.

TimeToFlyNow · 05/01/2023 20:06

I'd think they are both annoying twerps to have to deal with

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 05/01/2023 20:07

It makes me laugh that there are hundreds of threads here disgusted at the fact that someone has "aired their story" . Have you seen what site you are on? The entire site relishes in people airing their dirty linen in public

I'm sure someone will correct me, but no-one as far as I know has come on here and said 'BTW, I killed 25 Afghans, do you judge me?' So not quite the same as discussing your abusive marriage or MIL issues.

IcedPurple · 05/01/2023 20:07

Did anyone ask the dog bowl if it's OK?

I disagree here. War desensitises you to whoever is the enemy.

O h well if you're mate reckons that, it must be true.

The entire site relishes in people airing their dirty linen in public. And MN promotes itself and makes money out of doing exactly this. Hypocrites all of you.

And you’re here too so I hope you’re directing your judgmental insults towards yourself.

DelphiniumBlue · 05/01/2023 20:13

I'd have thought H would win a fight against W, is that why he didn't hit him back ?

He called a colleague, 'my Paki friend', so not sure how antiracist!

He explained away the P word by stating that he had had a sheltered childhood. Okay, so your mum's best friend Jemima Goldsmith was married to the eventual PM of Pakistan Imran Khan and your mum also dated a Pakistani doctor, Hasnat.

bakalava · 05/01/2023 20:16

Get the dogbowl some therapy!

Endpress · 05/01/2023 20:17

We need to get rid of the whole lotta them.

LaurieFairyCake · 05/01/2023 20:18

I have known hundreds of service people and I have NEVER heard of anyone who keeps score (and they'd mostly not know it)

BadShepherd · 05/01/2023 20:21

Tbh I’m confused.

on one hand we have a fierce soldier taking out 25 insurgents in hand-to-hand combat.

on the other hand we have a man sat in a dog bowl, clutching his broken necklace in one hand and speed-dialling his therapist with the other.

quite the dichotomy.

Imagine telling the whole world you ended up sat in the dog bowl. 😂
