The royal family

Do Harry and Meghan realise hardly anyone supports them?

So everywhere there seems to be complete negativity towards the Netflix documentary and the autobiography coming out. They seem to be universally slated as whingers.
so how much do you think this feeds back to them? It must be v easy to live in a bubble with close supporters telling them they are doing a grand job. But how much reality do you think gets through of how badly they are coming across,

Most of my friends including myself are totally supportive of them. That’s probably because we don’t believe the crap published in the tabloids.

This. It was quite obvious when palace aides used to leak nonsense stories about Meghan.

They do have supporters sadly.
Normally, it'll be those who have little to no knowledge or interest in British history, culture, traditions, royal family history etc. Also those from black or mixed race backgrounds who see Meghan as 'one of us' and who focus more on that than whether she's telling the truth or not, even when presented with evidence she's not (like the 'we got married in the garden' claim). There are also those who see racism everywhere and tleft wing / liberals who think the royal family represent conservatorism / republicanism.
Its less about H&M themselves and more what people seem to think they represent.

It's just the usual celebrity thing though isn't it. Celebrity comes out to talk about all their personal stuff, swathes of people seem to care for no odd reason whatosever. Meanwhile their elderly neighbour is struggling on a daily basis.

It's just an addiction to drama as a distraction.

I think it's possibly just you & the people you know OP and certain Mumsnet types. Everyone I know (and that is hardly any royalists) support them.

We can all see exactly what people mean when they say "I just don't like MM, can't quite put my finger on why" or "she's insincere" or "i don't trust her"
I also suspect waity katy & baldy pegger camp have some pr people on here shit stirring

“We can all see exactly what people mean when they say waity katy & baldy pegger camp have some pr people on here shit stirring”

Wow.

Its been long, grinding, futile years for the stans - you must be exhausted now and increasingly desperate now lashing out like that.

Who does that remind you of?

Novella4 · 06/01/2023 15:17

Harry has given insight and clarity re the very ordinary ( ordinary at best- William's rage issues and personality do not equip him for his role even as a figurehead) people that constitute so called 'royalty'

The entire institution is a carefully constructed facade.

If we had a proper analysis assessment and critique of the royal institution as we do of any other publicly funded body this book wouldn't be the massive bombshell that it is

I don’t see this book as a bombshell expose of the RF or the institution.

I wish it was brave and insightful enough to do that.

All it is is a personal exercise in incoherent and undignified lashing out.

Its excruciating to witness.

I see him as quite vulnerable and delusional and I worry how resilient his MH really is.

I hope that MM steps in to get him the professional help he desperately needs.

Rhondaa · 06/01/2023 15:46

'Harry has given insight and clarity'

Insight Into his drug taking? his penis? (and William's! Nice bit of invasion of privacy there). Insight into an older woman allegedly humiliating him when he shagged her in a field, he calls the people he killed chess pieces, insight into his thoughts on Williams baldness? On and on it goes. This utter cringeworthy twaddle.

Insight and clarity my arse. He is like a tabloid reporter on speed.

The supporters must surely be running out of steam. I mean we haven't had 'yeah but haterz hate' for a while so you could always try that again..

@Janiie
Insight into some of what is behind the facade of 'royalty '
It's not a difficult concept to grasp .

Only his story of course
There is far more corruption and abuse of all sorts of that I have no doubt.
Start with the close relationship each 'royal' office has with MSM particularly the lowest levels of that .

FirThusThraed · 06/01/2023 15:55

Some of you seem to think that it is only the British RF that have problems. Look around at other European families as they are trying to slim down too.

Yes, but sadly a lot of the public just do not want to know. They want the RF put on a pedestal to gawp at and revere
They don't want to hear about dodgy deals, dropping stories, in-fighting amongst press teams within the Palace. They just want pretty pictures of the children, Kate in a wow dress, Camilla and Charles being all regal. People just do not want to know anything negative. It upsets them. It's like they can't function without our royal family being all regal and special.
When in fact, they're not. They're a dysfunctional family who are, at the moment, fire fighting.
I know we'll have them for well after I'm pushing up daisies. My wish is that they modernise, sweep out the old courtiers, do things a different way.

No let's start with what he has said. Not the msm, Harold himself.

Do you think it's ok to reveal William is circumcised? Can you imagine the hoo ha if Thomas Markle had revealed anything private about M, musing over her first period or something. Do you think people killed in war should be called chess pieces in a trashy reveal all book?

We know they are brazen hypocrites, do try not to be so blind to it all.

Yes, I'm sure Charles watched closely the stripping of titles for Denmark's Queen Margrethe's four of the Grandchildren. That went down like a cup of cold sick and needed some repairing. It was the second son thing. The son (equivalent to Harry) was very cross! (so it's not just us with problems!)

(and personally I don't think Archie or Lilli should have, or need titles, but these 4 Danish GC are still Counts and Countesses)

Well done Queen Margrethe, she did it for the sake of the children so they could live a life and have careers and not be restricted by being Royal.

tinytemper66 · 06/01/2023 16:05

They are not high up on my richter scale but as I don't seem to be able to fart rid of this topic, only individual threads, I will comment.
Some stuff may have been brought on themselves, but they have so much shit thrown at them by the GB press, I feel Inclined to believe them than a shit rag.

Zuve · 06/01/2023 16:15

You realise they had multiple HR complaints and resignations? And they’ve never denied this? Anyone whose dealt with a narcissist can stop them a mile off and it’s obvious Meghan is domineering with a nasty streak.

Which publicly funded bodies have received “a proper analysis, assessment and critique”? And where can I read the ensuing reports?

Cam22 · 06/01/2023 18:04

OP:

I think they are a pair of dreadful individuals who do not have a shred of sensitivity or decency between them.

Surely must know they are loathed and pitied because Harkle, certainly, was roaring with rage when he read the avalanche of very unsupportive social media comments. Good.
Hope he showed Meagain too.

They really are awful. Wish they’d shut up and go away.

Ewwwww. Some posters are really vile.

SnowlayRoundabout · 06/01/2023 18:28

As a direct result of what Harry said about William's baldness, I find myself looking quite carefully at the top and back of Harry's head when he turns up on TV. He really has nothing to boast about, does he? Unless he goes further down the transplant route, it's a matter of time before he is just as bald.

LivelyBlake · 06/01/2023 18:32

Nah, he is thick and deluded and she is a narcissist. They probably think that the entire UK is infiltrated by the Royal Family's PR (except Omid and the chap from ITV).

When people post criticism of Meghan it is labelled “hatred” based in “racism”. What is the reason for this level of meanness I wonder? When it can’t be blamed on that?
