Sussexes invited to Coronation and to keep titles

I think this was the right call. Not to invite them to the Coronation just look petty. And he can't remove the Sussexes titles without removing Andrew's.

If true then KC has been clever . Had he not invited Harry and Meghan then it would be yet another chance for them to moan .
The question is will they have the brass beck to attend after everything they have said ? Harry’s book is still to come out promising more “ truth bombs”
Will they really kneel before KC and QC and swear allegiance?

The trouble is, if they come it will also be a chance to moan. He hasn't been allowed to wear uniform, it's not the right uniform, they don't think their seats at the service are right, they haven't been invited to the right celebrations, someone was beastly to them at one of the official functions, they don't like not being listed as HRH in the order of service, etc etc. Notes are always being taken for the next Netflix programme or book about how hard done-by they are.

I wonder if they ever stop to think how lucky they are . They seem to love each other , health, they have 2 beautiful children, an amazing house , more money than most of us can dream of and …….still not happy .
Apparently they have been spotted in the Bahamas . How many people would love that ?

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 19/12/2022 16:41

Thing is @SnowlayRoundabout Charles now has the moral high ground. He hasn't responded to the Netflix malarkey, he has extended an invitation to the coronation; if they use that as an excuse to whinge (which is pretty much a given) then they look churlish and as if nothing is ever right for them and whatever the RF does, they'll find fault. RF and HMK can then say well, we tried.

Maireas · 19/12/2022 16:45

I don't think they do, @BethJ62 . Even to acknowledge what an amazing opportunity they had, and what incredible privilege.

Beachbabe1 · 19/12/2022 16:46

I very much doubt they will come to the UK because of al the hatred towards them which is unnecessary! They are still a part of that family at the end of the dsy!!

Maireas · 19/12/2022 16:48

It's interesting that this new Netflix documentary is about inspirational leadership. Harry is quoting Nelson Mandela. One of the extraordinary things about Mandela was him coming out of those years of imprisonment with no bitterness or desire for revenge, but to work with others for a better future. Even with those who sought to destroy him. That is an inspirational leader.

tatalan · 19/12/2022 16:49

OP careful or you'll be accused of being a paid H&M psyop 😅

antelopevalley · 19/12/2022 16:51

Whether they come or they don't come the anti-Harry and Meghan posters will criticise them. So I hope they just do what they want to do.

OP posts:
Maireas · 19/12/2022 16:53

Indeed, @antelopevalley . Although I suspect that they would do what they want to do anyway, regardless.

bloodbubblingover · 19/12/2022 16:54

It shouldn’t be up to King Charles. The British people should decide if he’s worthy of the title, and he’s not. He no longer serves the British public, so should have it removed.

antelopevalley · 19/12/2022 16:54

@bloodbubblingover I agree their titles should be removed, but so should Andrew's. I think they do not want to remove Andrew's.

Logginglogger · 19/12/2022 16:56

Personally I think they should proactively relinquish their titles. I don’t think they should force Charles to remove them. They should be rhe bigger person and hand them back

the apology request I suspect is strategic . They want to say we are going to the coronation as Charles and William apologised to us. So making them In the right. They know if they just front up everyone will call them a pair of wankers amd there will be public outrage

Logginglogger · 19/12/2022 16:58

The issue here is Andrew has never admitted or been proven guilty of anything. It doesn’t matter we all believe he is , he is innocent until proven guilty , you can’t remove his titles for an accusation.

meghan and harry though are proven guilty of attacking the monarchy repeatedly, so that alone should have them lose their titles. But for me, to save Charles more heartache they should do it themselves. Or stop using them.

antelopevalley · 19/12/2022 17:01

The idea that Andrew could be innocent strains credibility. Many of the public would be outraged if Harry and Meghan's titles were removed and Andrew's were not. Charles will know this. Which is why he is doing nothing.

Surely they will decline the invitation given their loathing of the institution. It would be ridiculous of them to attend.

They will get absolutely torn apart by the media either way, but this way the royals look like they’ve been the bigger people, which obviously they are not.

You can’t honestly believe what you are writing. Andrew is obviously guilty, innocent men don’t pay up, especially innocent powerful men against a civilian.

Surely he’s born into the title? Either way he was bullied out of it.

Maireas · 19/12/2022 17:06

I really hope they go to the Coronation. They should be given an opportunity to preach from the pulpit. Perhaps about inspirational leadership or kindness. Or chicken rearing. Or the dangers of wolves.

That's exactly why H&M still have theirs. I have shocked to learn via the docu that they'd offered to give up the titles. There's a reason they RF didn't take them up on that offer 😂

Underrated post 👍🏻👏🏻

OhmygodDont · 19/12/2022 17:27

I mean if the royal family is so so bad they won’t want to attend. They also wouldn’t use their titles so hmmm.

Which is worse, criticizing an institution that sheltered the associate of a notorious sex trafficker, paying lawyers to stonewall the justice system in another state, and eventually paying an unspecified sum to settle a claim against him, or criticizing that institution and bringing its dysfunction to public attention?
