I have watched all three episodes. I don't read newspapers in the week so hadn't seen the vulgar statements prior to their marriage. Filthy language, classiest comments, all written by white people. I would have run a bloody mile. I think people who say anyone should have put up and shut up is nuts. I will never read The Daily Fail again. There is nothing so far in this documentary to concern the RF. No one is named except Princess Michael of Kent. She wore a Blackamoore broach to a party, I'd be offended too.
Wether H & M are doing this for the dosh or because they are fed up with story after story about them, they have a right to say I think certain people are racist. I am white, my husband black. We have dc who are now grown up. Their experience is variable. Old money usually fine, new dosh or certin countries horrid.
I wouldn't want to join the firm for all the hats, jewellery or entertaining.
The duchess won't go quietly, the footage shows she has been 'out there' since age 11. The USA has had an actor president and a fair few borderline nutters. Is she a worse option? Ah, she's bi racial and a woman. I know who I would prefer however they need some deep pockets for that! I shall watch the rest and you only really see a glimpse of Archie.

So I guess whoever said this is for an American audience is spot on. They (the editors I mean) are painting the UK as the enemy.
Certain parts of the US left wing media love to kick the UK, I'm thinking the NY Times. I really think they should look in their back yard first before throwing allegations at the UK regarding racism.

I also agree with whoever said it was probably re-edited after the Queen's death to disperse some of the blame away from her.

Also, just wanted to pick up on something from earlier in the thread - OP you said they were recording themselves as far back as early 2020? So they much have known they were going to do an exposé of sorts as far back as that.

If you removed racism from America, there wouldn’t be an America. It’s in every document. Race has been front and centre there since its inception (and prior to that). In elections there is mention of “the black vote”, with any elected official who isn’t white they are “the first black (or Asian, Hispanic etc.) mayor of XX”. Because they are so entrenched in race anything to do with race is a major story (to the rest of us it barely registers, hence Harry being “taught” about racism from her).

Excellent post. I agree wholeheartedly. MM had been campaigning for causes that mattered to her long before PH came on the scene. I think the relationship gave him purpose from day one, it gave her racist headlines.

I'm in my mid 50s so remember Diana well and remember the summer she died. She was actively courting the press and paparazzi, posing on yachts and saying things like 'wait until you see what I'm going to do next'. She was not universally popular in the weeks before she died. Not at all. And then she died and was made into a saint. It was absolutely tragic but Harry is not the only child to lose a mother at a young age. He has created an image of her in his head, which is understandable, but she was not perfect by any means. And sadly I believe Meghan has exploited his vulnerability.

It's crass to use his mother's memory in this way in their show. I feel for William and the Spencer family.

Champagne? She needed to drink it then because she can never go to a bar or restaurant and order it again. Too extravagant. Ditto her clothes. Only UK. Princess Diana ordered a lady Dior bag when she got divorced, good for her.
It is indeed a gilded cage.
I hope they do spend time in the UK. Fundamentally we are the most tolerant nation in the world (my family ticks nearly every box, so I speak from experience). But the press are shameful.

Another question you're unlikely to see answered on here ...

If you cancel everyone from your life then you don’t have to face anyone telling you that ‘your truth’ is recollected in the varying stylee.

And those cancelled can’t point out the hypocrisy by saying ‘how is it ok for you and no for me?’.
