The producers chose those photos. Netflix chose to release the trailer, presumably because is Dec 1st and they often release new trailers on the first of the month. In fact, Netflix releases content on the 1st of every month. Has been so for as long as I can remember.

a lip reader caught Mike Tindall referring to H as a bellend and this pretty much sums it up for me. All the Hallmark photos of their picture perfect romance remind me of those facebookers who do the regular love love love posts of their partners who we know they don't have much time for in the real world

Meghan came out and said the documentary is not how they pictured it would be or how they wanted to tell it. So Netflix have got stuff that they probably didn't want to include and have included it anyway. Make of that what you will

Remember this was shot when they were both on royal family attack mode and before the queen died

The timing of this release and the photos of Archie on zoom are anything but coincidence. This was carefully planned to divert attention

It's their documentary. They'll have seen and approved everything in advance.

Netflix will be shit stirring as much as possible to maximise profits. H&M may not have had final say on the trailer. It depends what was in the contract.

I read the thread on Lady SH harassing someone about their origin and where they came from. So many racist apologists. I came back to Mumsnet after watching the trailer to see what was being said. And you didn’t disappoint. Sooo many “poor Kate” 😂, where is the respect, where is the consideration. How dare the upstart? How uppity! /sarcasm

@pigonalipstick technically yes, but think of the many, many pics that are out there of the four of them together in happier times, yet this one is chosen. The staging of the shot - Catherine staring angrily into the camera immediately followed by Meghan's direct, almost challenging portrait whilst dressed in mourning black - does tell a clear story; it's C vs M. I wish it was just as simple as a pic of all four of them. These things are chosen carefully to create a narrative.

H&M would have had sign off on this trailer, without doubt.

The victim narrative is so unbearable.

"they doth protest too much" about their blissful marriage. All those very intimate photos. I've been married for 25 years and i don't think there are any intimate photos of us gazing longingly at each other except a couple of cringey wedding photos which were quite deliberately stage managed

Is it all going to be in black and white? I hate watching things in black and white. I don't want to watch it but probably will.

I can’t wait to see it . The issue was always with Kate and William in part , the phot is not just of Kate but it’s probably an example of her reaction towards them ?
the truth of course will be something in between what both parts say . But as a couple I prefer Harry and Megan than Kate and William . Kate looks extremely drained , she actually looks older than she is ( although still very pretty ) , I doubt their marriage is anything but a facade at this stage and she is probably stuck .
I personally do nit care about Charles or camilla , they are both awful and Charles was probably an awful father . It has alway come across as that .

I do think that Harry will live to regret these attacks. He will only ever have one brother, and he's destroyed his relationship with his over what seems like a teenage spat.

Plus, it's pretty poor form to attack a woman (Kate), who you know can't respond publicly.

I’m sure they will lap it up in the States but the eye rolling in the UK will be next level. If I want to watch a corny film there’s some corkers on the Hallmark channel, especially at Christmas.

Once again, they appear to have invaded their own privacy. I just wish they would enjoy their fabulous new life - quietly.

I started off a massive fan of M&H, I already knew who she was as I had been watching Suits since it first aired.
I really thought they would be a great addition to the UK.
I understood why they left the BRF - it's not an easy life to marry into and the spotlight and pressure must be unbearable.
I remember they initially wanted a "half in/half out" model and said so in their press releases at the time.
I also saw how the narrative changed after that.
I have no doubt Meghan found it hard and the RF as an institution can be unbending and intimidating.
This incessant victimhood is unnecessary and pointless.
They have a lovely home, 2 beautiful healthy children, have a strong relationship and friends. They have a lot to be thankful for.
To relentlessly focus on a 2 year period of time that ended 3 years ago now is unhealthy and smacks of intentional victimhood.
The inclusion of Catherine's photo in that trailer, an unflattering image where she is the focus of attention, in the midst of selectively photoshopped and edited flattering images of Meghan is narcissistic and says everything about where Meghan's attention is focused on. Its hurtful and unfair.

Right, H&M def have no control over trailers lol. Per leaks the series drops on the 8th of Dec. Trailer being released now makes sense, just a week before.

Just saw the trailer. Why would anyone want to do this to themselves and their family?? Is this the big blockbuster Hollywood film she has always dreamed of staring in? If she really wanted to get a point a cross there are much more credible options. They are going to have no peace from the press now - how is this compatible with wanting to be out of the limelight - out of the frying pan and into the fire Harry!

The daily mail are loving this the especially the photo of ' stony faced ' Kate. Nobody knows the full story there do they ? This will only be one side of it too, they know that K and W can't answer back or defend themselves
I have defended H and M in the past , but it's sad that his brother can't put his side across

I read the comments before watching the trailer and thought it was Mn being dramatic… but that photo of Kate is something else! Dramaorama!
