Who is behind the camera taking pictures of Meghan crying?

I do wonder what Prince Harry is hoping to achieve

Wealth, celebrity, status, admiration, importance, lifestyle?

xogossipgirlxo · 02/12/2022 09:28

Dear god, how long are they going to milk this story <pukes>

Here's the blurb for the series:

In an unprecedented and in-depth documentary series, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex share the other side of their high-profile love story.

Across six episodes, the series explores the clandestine days of their early courtship and the challenges that led to them feeling forced to step back from their full-time roles in the institution.

With commentary from friends and family, most of whom have never spoken publicly before about what they witnessed, and historians who discuss the state of the British Commonwealth today and the royal family's relationship with the press, the series does more than illuminate one couple's love story, it paints a picture of our world and how we treat each other.

From the critically-acclaimed, two-time Academy Award-nominated and Emmy-winning director Liz Garbus, Harry & Meghan is a never-before-seen look at one of the most-discussed couples in history.

^^

does it actually say British Commonwealth in the blurb?!? I thought it was the Commonwealth of Nations.

clyspa · 02/12/2022 09:30

I thought the Queen 'assigned' Sophie to show MM the ropes?

maeveiscurious · 02/12/2022 09:31

I think they have shown who they are obnoxious selfish individuals. The pity party isn't going to serve them well anyone who is close to them is going to feel really uncomfortable. They could lash out at any time.

justasking111 · 02/12/2022 09:31

Wonder what she put her first two husbands through now .

babyyodaxmas · 02/12/2022 09:33

In due course, the palace announced Meghan was in labour, and the media all started up their “royal baby watch” cycles. Only for the Sussexes to immediately announce Archie’s birth on their instagram feed. He had in fact been born several hours earlier and they were already back at home when they made the “in labour” announcement.

I actually think she was induced for being 38 (nearly 39) and significantly post term. I also wonder if she had a c-section.

Mrsrasputian · 02/12/2022 09:34

I reckon the picture of Kate looking like she’s chewing a wasp is probably her real persona, not the carefully cultivated smiling waving robot she presents.
Looking forward to seeing it. Hilarious how triggered all the royalists are in here😀

He already had all of that and more, without the need to make himself a commodity for mass entertainment.

clyspa · 02/12/2022 09:35

Calling it the British Commonwealth does suggest (which I think done if us already suspected) a complete lack of understanding of the royal family and British history - hence Oprah not knowing how to question some of the claims made in the interview eg they won't let Archie have the title of Prince.

They must have more stories as can't believe anyone would buy a rehash of the Oprah interview.

I also think they are indicating Kate said something about Archie's colour - but really odd if she did as this seems the first time they really seem to be squaring up to William and Kate - to start with it was they men in grey, the HR who wouldn't find MM a therapist etc , then it was Charles, now it's the Wales'

clyspa · 02/12/2022 09:36

I don't think Kate is remotely robotic - what a daft thing to say

IcedPurple · 02/12/2022 09:35

Maybe he wants even more of it and sees nothing wrong in causing mass destruction of everyone and everything as long as he gets what he wants?

WonderfulCounsellors · 02/12/2022 09:42

Meghan was happy to marry a man who thought it would be funny to dress up as a nazi. I can never quite get my head round that. All the I didn’t really know who he was. I have prejudice against people that are really dumb or manipulative so which is it? Because it’s one of them.

Same here! 🤣🤣🤣

Well, I mean at this stage are we really expecting any sort of accuracy or research from this pair or the director? Because Harry has demonstrated before that he didn't understand about the foundation of the Commonwealth of Nations. It's embarrassing but telling how biased and dishonest this is going to be.

I do wonder. I find it sad how the only thing H&M can seem to make money from is from slating their families.
I saw the trailer, it's amazing how many people believe this is real. It all looks staged to me.

What a unpleasant thing to say about her.

I'm not triggered. I can just see this pair for what they are, a pair of grabby hypocrital shit stirrers.

Yes, I am regularly amazed and annoyed by people who assume, and merrily tell people that the Commonwealth (not the British Commonwealth, as has been pointed out) is the British Empire under another name and that all the countries that are part of it are ruled by the British Crown. So, deciding to remove the Queen as Head of State, as Barbados recently did - and as the vast majority of Commonwealth members have done over the last 70 years - means leaving the Commonwealth entirely and cuttings all ties with the UK.

(I am fairly sure that that the people who believe that are the market Netflix is aiming for, from the sound of their blurb)

Samcro · 02/12/2022 09:45

makes me lol. pages of people saying how much they dislike them. who has the energy for all that.
just ignore them.

LizzieSiddal · 02/12/2022 09:45

Although Harry inherited 21miilion from his mum, that is not enough to live the life they want to. Security alone is a million a year.
The Netflix deal is worth 100million I think? Plus the 45million from Harry’s book, so hopefully they have enough now, they can stop having to talk about their past.

Serenster · 02/12/2022 09:46

Of course it’s staged! How on earth do people think all the lovely black and white photos of the couple were taken?

If that's her true persona, then I admire her even more, that she gets up and manages every day to put on an upbeat face and attitude to put everybody at ease around her. That takes a lot of energy, thoughtfulness and commitment to her role.

@EscapeTheCastle thank you so much for this - I haven't laughed so much in ages Grin Not sure it's quite what Netflix or H&M were hoping for, but given all the crap in the world we need a good giggle and they've certainly provided that!

Comments on the trailer here

Those comments are brilliant. Looks like it may not be the reaction H&M want 😂

pompomdaisy · 02/12/2022 09:47

Such a narcissistic pain of twits. I kind of understood when they said they needed to get out of the royal family and public glare but since they left the uk they seem to have gone out of their way to attract attention. Bizarre pair?!

First the Sussexes said that Archie’s birth was an entirely private matter and they would not be releasing any details about it. After this provoked some public criticism, they backed down and said they would make an announcement when the Duchess was in labour and then announce the birth.

I thought at the time that this came across as a big two fingers up at the press (and it was in fact the point when I realised I could no longer rationalise all their behaviour positively, as they were clearly not acting in good faith, and being intentionally antagonistic to the press for their own purposes). Later it came out that this whole saga had been because they had an negotiated an exclusive with Gayle King and the US network she worked for, so they were deliberately trying to keep the UK press out.

Well, it is a private matter and I can’t imagine being publicly criticised for wanting to have my first baby (or any baby) without the glare of the media. They couldn’t really win so using the press for their own purposes seems entirely reasonable to me. Rather that than the horrible display they make of wheeling out an exhausted Kate hours after the birth; hours spent in hair and makeup rather than having some tea and toast and a dazed postpartum poo.
