Who is behind the camera taking pictures of Meghan crying?

Just sounds like a continuation of the Oprah tantrum - how classy!!
Watch out Kim there is a new Kardashian family in town.

They are fast becoming a joke and they're going to get ripped apart in the media.

'Me, me, all about me' - I'm embarrassed for both of them.

Coronateachingagain · 01/12/2022 20:58

"Nope. I’ve produced programmes for Netflix. You deliver the programme and the internal promo team cut the trailer. They can cut sequences in a more dramatic way to get people intrigued. As the exec, I have zero sway in what they cut, in what order and how they chose to highlight the series. The programme yes - control. Promo? Nope."
@YellowAndGreenToBeSeen you can negotiate any carveout in a contract, including with Netflix, and especially with them as they have a specialist team advising.

Because this is not ANY docuseries, this is an M&H docuseries.

So who knows if they had control on the advance cut, most probably they did.

I think this could become my catchphrase in work meetings - 'with stakes this high, doesn't it make sense to hear this story from me?'...

Oh @Sigma33 that really made me guffaw!! I'm going to use it at work too!!

Forget work @Sigma33 , I’m stealing it to use in petty arguments on here 😆

This shot looks like a stock photo of couples counselling from a free website the media may use.

Looks like a scene from Suits. Wait or Real Housewives?

This reminded me of the stupid stuff the real housewives say at the start of their show.

That's exactly what it reminded me of!
Real Housewife of Montecito.

Ok. Sure.

Except in 25 years TV experience, including on sensitive / high profile programmes with ‘key talent’, I’ve never seen a promo ring fenced in a contract, nor had any input into what the promo team made.

You make the show, it gets signed off by the Execs (in this case, H&M) and then deliver it. That’s when the promo team get their hands on the show to cut the trailer.

AcrossthePond55 · 01/12/2022 21:26

Pray tell, exactly what are these 'stakes' that are 'so high'? No, seriously, what are they? It's not like either or them is running for political office (yet) or being accused of some crime or other where the 'content of their character' is paramount to staying out of prison. Could these 'stakes' possibly be (gasp) monetary?

I honestly think that H&M expected the RF to 'acquiesce' to their original demands to live how they wished but still be senior royals. Only they reckoned without the iron backbone of the late Queen and now-King Charles. H&M boxed themselves into a corner with their 'my way or the highway'. They gambled and lost and are looking for a little payback.

And I don't believe for one New York minute that they didn't have input and final 'say so' on that promo. Of course they ok'd it. Meghan is/was in the 'biz' and so she knows how important 'creative control' is. Crafting and controlling her image as an actress was something she did very well, so she knows the ropes.

Honestly, looking at that promo again it's very 'TMZ' or National Enquirer, isn't it?

I thought they wanted to use their global platform for good. Instead it will be a six part documentary to settle scores. It is like year 9 drama with infinite funding.

Year 9 drama!! Love it 🤣🤣🤣

I haven’t been on a H&M thread since Megxit!
Meghan is hyper aware of cameras and probably obsessive about each detail. It might produce attention-grabbing visuals but I feel uncomfortable about it all.
As much as I don’t like Meghan, I’m starting to feel sad for her - she seems to live her life for the cameras (even when there aren’t any), acting out a ‘perfect life’, there’s some serious mental anguish there.

That’s where the Kate jealousy stems from - it’s not about looks, Queen-in-waiting or anything like that.
It’s about Kate’s idyllic upbringing, stable and happy home life and extremely tight-knit, supportive family.
Kate has a built in contentment and self-assuredness that can’t be bought or acquired at a later age. I can see how unsettled individuals like Meghan (who think they deserve much more than they have) would absolutely despise Kate’s air of calm and ease with oneself.

Newwardrobe · 01/12/2022 21:30

I think the 'stakes' refer to their lives , as they weren't able to have security paid for when not in the UK.

And dropping the trailer while the Prince and Princess of Wales are in the US is obviously not accidental timing. I do wonder what Prince Harry is hoping to achieve. The once obviously close relationship he had with his brother and with his SIL looks like it's in tatters.

Is he out to punish his brother? Bring down the monarchy? Surely producing such a 'documentary' isn't conducive to living a happy life and moving on?

I agree, what a nasty thing to do to try so overtly to overshadow his brothers visit to the USA.

StartupRepair · 01/12/2022 21:31

The high stakes are Meghan's feelings.

MrsFinkelstein · 01/12/2022 21:31

They're getting pelters in the comments.

"My favorite part is shot after shot of world travel in high luxury followed by a single shot of her sobbing surrounded by designer goods. Those of us who can barely afford groceries really ache for you, sis."

"My favorite part is her crying in front of her Hermes blanket." She's so tacky."

Several pointing out the "coincidence" of it being released during the Wales' visit.

You can't see it unless you click on the picture, but they have 6k 'likes' and 21k 'dislikes' on the Netflix page.

Agree. It’s the feeling of not fitting in and being different as a child. Not having her mother around, having a father who seemed obsessed with her and over indulged her whilst not giving her what she probably really needed. Watching the financial ups and downs . Kate has had a very different life. She was also brought up with very different values.

They really are spiteful people.

It's so much more galling as they advertise themselves as 'empathic', but then act in a way they know is going to deeply hurt and harm people who Harry loved until 5 minutes ago.

And it really looks like they are acting the part of how a couple in love in a film would act. Those are not naturally caught intimate moments.

That doesn't mean they aren't in love, I presume they are, but then performing this for public consumption. Which is a dangerous game to play. When you make your life a commodity you start to lose the boundary of what's real and performance yourself. We've seen that happen to many celebs.

It's really sad it's come to this for William and Catherine and for Harry and Meghan it's horrible to watch the psychodrama of pain being acted out.

I think it was very mean to put in the picture of Kate and William - deliberately chosen to show solemn expressions at a serious church series. It's quite manipulative.

Overgrowngrasslady · 01/12/2022 21:53

I do think there is bad blood between Kate and Meghan, I was watching the images at just before the funeral of the four of them looking at the flowers, and there was a shot where Kate was looking away and Meghan was looking at her, a sort of scared worried awkward look.

I don’t think they speak, at all. I think Kate doesnt want anything to do with Meghan at all. I think they used that image as that’s how they see her. Becsyde we need to remember that Meghan and harry see themselves as perpetual victims, they won’t see they caused it or have any responsibility.

I noticed that look too. I thought it spoke volumes. I thought Kate looked like she was absolutely screaming inside to have to be anywhere near Meghan that day. Perhaps she is very angry on behalf of her husband , the Queen, Charles and herself. I think the penny dropped with Meghan that there is no way Kate will ever forgive her. Quite rightly.

BellePeppa · 01/12/2022 22:05

They are like a couple of performing seals. Nothing they do or say ever feels genuine (despite her love of the word authentic). Their fakery gives me the ick (if I can use that divisive word on here😁).
