Who is behind the camera taking pictures of Meghan crying?

In the trailer, there is an image of Meghan with her face in her hands, apparently crying, with the voiceover of "No one sees what's happening behind closed doors." It then immediately cuts to an image of Kate, her facial expression grim. I get that the entire image contains other members of the RF but Kate is at the center of the image and the image chosen is one where she is looking towards (perhaps not precisely AT) the camera, so the image does seem to be specifically about Kate. I think the sequence of the images, the voiceover, etc., are very suggestive as to what is being implied about Kate.

I don't know whether H and M had any control over the trailer, but I don't agree with the poster who suggested Kate's prominence in that image was accidental.

"When the stakes are this high doesn't it make sense to hear our story from us?"

Just tune in and make us some money folks, and let us try and brainwash you in the process.

Commentary from friends and ‘family’ that will be Doria then.

It's just so ironic that they feel the need to constantly trash the only thing that makes them relevant and famous.

If it weren't for the fact that PH is the son of the King and brother of the future King they wouldn't have any relevance at all.

It's so unfathomable as to why they don't harness their association with the RF in a positive way which would lead to a positive and progressive future.
Even if they wanted to do the continual drip drip reminder of that association to the American market, it would be more positive than this harking back to their perceived victimhood for what was such a very short period.

It's just all utter madness. They would have far more relevance now and for the future if they had a close relationship with the RF, even with their living in the USA, as it would give then longevity. But they just don't have the awareness or emotional intelligence to realise this.

The public have already heard what they had to say with the OW piece, but you really can't keep rehashing a brief period of the past (that you chose to reject and leave) to create your future. All it's going to do is ultimately turn off your audience, limit your star value (and I'm being generous here) and widen the rift with the RF, that is still Harry's family, and is the whole reason that they have any star value in the first place. After all Netflix, Spotify, OW etc weren't interested in interviews and documentaries when MM was a mere actress in a TV series were they? It's only Harry's association with the RF that adds the sparkle.

I also wonder what made M suicidal? The media stories? Lack of freedom? Bad press?

I think it would have been a combination of all those combined with all the hormones etc which come with pregnancy - it can also be quite lonely having a baby away from your home country where everything is familiar.

I think the thing which I questioned most about that revelation from the Oprah interview is why on earth her doctor and maternity team weren't picking up on her mental health needs or at least making it clear how to get help if needed. I know she went private but I'd assume they would still check in on her mental health throughout the pregnancy and postpartum.

IcedPurple · 01/12/2022 19:45

If this is successful, netflix will want to make more. The RF won't give them the time of day, so of course they're going to keep in with H&M.

Make more about what though?

This is an entire series based on there less than 3 years as a couple in the royal family. What else can they possibly have to say?

Newwardrobe · 01/12/2022 19:46

Harry says he's had therapy, I wonder if he still has it and if so does his therapist agree that what they are doing is helping him.

Venetiaparties · 01/12/2022 19:46

Personally if William and Kate have any sense at all, they will have their lawyers all over it right this second, and get a court order. I don't know why they would stand by and allow this, this is the moment to use their access to the best legal minds, because for sure the have many legal routes to sue. I hope they are not going to stand by and accept this as another one of Harry's bad decisions/breakdowns. It has gone too far.

They'll just turn into the Kardashians .

MintyFreshOne · 01/12/2022 19:49

Because she is tall, naturally slim, effortlessly elegant and now destined to be future Queen. All the things that Meghan will never be

Not to be on M’s side here, but I think with the exception of the height and the Queen part, these are all subjective things and one could easily argue M fits this description as well.

But the Kardashians are shameless and don't give a shit what anyone says about them so long as the money keeps rolling in. By contrast, the Harkles seem to be utterly obsessed with controlling their image. They don't even have social media.

Who wants to watch these two mooch around their mansion unless they've got royal gossip to spill? And after this 'documentary' and Harry's 'memoirs' what more can there be?

H&M did t produce the trailer though did they? The insertion of Kates pic isn't down to them.

Of course they would have had the final say, particularly for this photo.

From the critically-acclaimed, two-time Academy Award-nominated and Emmy-winning director Liz Garbus, Harry & Meghan is a never-before-seen look at From the critically-acclaimed, two-time Academy Award-nominated and Emmy-winning director Liz Garbus, Harry & Meghan is a never-before-seen look at one of the most-discussed couples in history.

"one of the most-discussed couples in history"?

Are they having a laugh?

That, combined with Meghan's 'high stakes' comment just shows how utterly self important these two are. And both are totally lacking in self awareness and take themselves painfully seriously. This 'documentary' could turn out to be a great laugh. At their expense.

There is anger in relying on others so you can to be rich and successful, when deep down you know yourself to be immensely average and not talented in any way. You are on a good day ordinary - on a bad day mentally unwell. You kick the system because it is much easier than facing the truth and your own responsibilities for your life and playing the victim is a narc requirement. It is supply, and it is paid. It is a win-win for the narc, all the better if they can take down William and Kate in the process.

It is also sabotage, because the ONLY reason why anyone is interested in them is due to the royal link, which is about to be irreparably severed.

How can they do this so close to the death of the Queen, is quite literally beyond me.

That's true, maybe the money will make them care a bit less.
it's such a shame it all could have been so different.

Nope. I’ve produced programmes for Netflix. You deliver the programme and the internal promo team cut the trailer. They can cut sequences in a more dramatic way to get people intrigued. As the exec, I have zero sway in what they cut, in what order and how they chose to highlight the series. The programme yes - control. Promo? Nope.

Meghan is neither slim nor elegant! Sorry!

Nanalisa60 · 01/12/2022 19:55

Who cares, just two very rich self important twats, ranting and raving about how terrible there life was!!

while the rest of us have really problems how to pay the fuel bills, how to pay our mortgage , putting food on the table. Getting a bloody doctor’s appointment. And they expect me to feel sorry for them. I don’t think so. I won’t be watching because I have just cancelled my Netflix because I don’t really think it value for money and it makes me sick how much those two have been paid to sit and trash they own family.

It's awful. The image of Kate is really shocking. I don't know what they're thinking. They said they wanted privacy!

I wonder why she is insisting on putting Katherine at the center of it again
Tells you a lot

And to get the ad out for impact while Kate is in the US 😅
There must be a team of people looking a release timings and schedules on both sides

And Netflix are going to want to make money on this so if that means create a little bit of controversy and drama to get people talking - well it worked. Netflix don't care if we end up loving or hating the Sussexes as long as there are eyeballs on their site.

Overgrowngrasslady · 01/12/2022 20:01

I think using the day Kate and William land in the us to launch their trailer is very calculated, it’s to get maximum exposure for themselves by piggy backing on their publicity , to cause Kate and William some angst, to over shadow their trip

they did it in Africa too when they were representing the queen, used it as a platform to attack the media and voice their unhappiness.

this timing smacks of spite and envy , as well as behaving like an immature child shouting look at me look at me.

and that’s just awful, to be filled with so much hate, rage, envy, obsession you behave like this.

milti · 01/12/2022 20:06

Harry’s saying the same old line ‘ I had to do everything in my power to protect my family’ yes we’ve heard hazno, many times 😂
