Who is behind the camera taking pictures of Meghan crying?

They remind me of tacky reality TV stars.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 01/12/2022 18:56

When was it that Harry was touting Meghan to the CEO of Disney for voice over work ?

I believe that was July 2019, Newwardrobe, at the Lion King premiere which Harry baulked a Marines commemorative event to attend

According to Meghan, this was also where she was told that the people of South Africa were so happy about her wedding that they danced in the streets as they did for Mandela

Quite an eventful evening all round really ...

They're an insincere, attention-seeking pair of oddballs. There's so much going for them - good looks, money, "loved-up", kids. What's the point of all this?! They're just shamelessly monetizing the titles, connections and institutions they clearly hate, and they should have been binned off ages ago.

They’re prostituting themselves for money and there doesn’t seem to be any depth they won’t go to.
All very nauseating and sad, like a slow motion car crash.
Quite frankly I wish they’d just eff off.

With a bit of luck Charles will tell them a few home truths.

Agree . Surely they can’t have any more “grievances “ to air ? I do wonder what they will talk about after the series and the book? I can’t see Spotify renewing the Archetypes podcasts .

Yes I said above that I can't really see where they can go from here. They've had 3 years to build a 'brand' but all they've done is recycle royal 'grievances'. The recent podcast episodes have had fairly low ratings so I agree that the series is unlikely to be renewed.

How many times do we need to hear about which grown woman made the other grown woman cry at a 3 year old's dress fitting?

Georgeskitchen · 01/12/2022 19:01

Watched the trailer on the ITV News. Nasty little dig at Kate she got in!!

FancyFran · 01/12/2022 19:01

Short sighted greed.
When is enough money enough?
Harry was a much loved member of the Royal family and forces community. Family business is private more so in the aristocracy.
I never bought into the Megan comment that she didn't know what her marriage would mean to her freedom. I thought she would be a ray of hope for all mixed race people like my children. Fat chance of that. And yes I had the 'what colour will your children be?' I said sky blue pink.
Have some grace. I was a mega Diana fan yet the panorama interview did her no favours. Privelage is earnt. I won't be watching.

MarshaMelrose · 01/12/2022 19:07

Netflix are not filming this with the uk in mind. They're never going to go middle of the road and try to portray both sides evenly. So they have two ways to go.

  1. Show a pair of super thin-skinned, self-pitying whingers, railing at how hard ife is in the multi million pound house living a multimillion pound lifestyle.
  2. Show a mentally damaged war veteran and his biracial wife being bullied and demeaned by one of the best known families in the world.

Bearing in mind that the the woman filming this is the partner of the sister of the woman who is giving them an award for standing against racism, I think we know which route they chose!

If this is successful, netflix will want to make more. The RF won't give them the time of day, so of course they're going to keep in with H&M. And anyway, meghan was pleased with the finished documentary when though it was not her vision. H&M did provide much of the footage independently before Garbus got hired. So it's only going to good stuff, after all.

Havehope21 · 01/12/2022 19:07

I feel very sorry for Kate over it - although I have always thought Meghan was jealous of Kate. She knows that Kate can't really respond to the trailer, like she couldn't respond to her claims in the Oprah interview, so is going all out to paint Kate as a stony faced misery.

I just hope that the public grow tired of them - they can only spin the same story so many times - and the royals cut them off. They will soon run out of material.

If they wanted the private life they claimed to want, they wouldn't be doing this documentary or all the interviews. I think Meghan wants money and status and was annoyed that in the royal family you have to not be seen to accept gifts or be unnecessarily extravagant etc. She also hated the fact she married the number 2 and Kate and William would always be before them.

yoyy · 01/12/2022 19:10

Why do you think anyone cares what you think? You clearly do given your prevalence on the thread.

Where have I claimed anyone does care what I think? I simply said you declaring you won't watch it doesn't mean anything, it's irrelevant in the grand scheme of things. No need to get tetchy.

AcrossthePond55 · 01/12/2022 19:10

Crucible · 01/12/2022 17:21

@AcrossthePond55 someone quoted one of your posts with the American standpoint - fair and level, mentioning philanthropists etc, and another poster implied you're a fake.american,.it appears to have gone poof. I follow your calmly through the day threads. I would.like to live in your house. I'm pretty sure you're a deadset proper American. Hope I'm not mixing you up.

Thanks for sticking up for me! I know I've seen your 'name' around on different threads, too.

Yep, I'm the 'real deal' of 'my kind' of American. Being such a huge country there are plenty of deadset proper Americans who have very different viewpoints from mine, so I don't want to hold myself out as representative of every American.

I live in an old, OLD drafty farmhouse without a lot of mod cons so not so sure you'd actually like to live here. But if you're complimenting 'who I am' with that remark, bless you. I try. And as I often end posts:

"Hands Across the Water"

Deeply ironic considering her constant banging on and on and on about being a ‘feminist’. Her definition of a feminist is very different to that of most people. She is bullying and gaslighting all the way. It was also mostly female staff she supposedly bullied.

"When the stakes are this high doesn't it make sense to hear our story from us?"

😂😂😂😂😂😂

I know...must admit, I'm a bit lost - what are the high stakes? I've no idea what she is referring too

I think H&M have created something that is more important to them than anyone else and really can't see that.

I wonder why that image of Kate made it, but this one didn’t? Same day.

So they must have had plans to go it alone long before they actually mentioned it ?

There were blind gossip articles saying they were planning to leave and were scouting out homes in Southern California months and months before the Jan 2020 announcement, might have even been before Archie was born. I don’t think they ever had any intention of staying as full time working royals beyond that initial year or two.

Said it earlier but stands repeating…

because H&M will have had nothing to do with the trailer. It’s cut by the Netflix in-house promo team. They will always go for a contentious, noisy trailer and it’s certainly worked.

Just because that’s in the trailer, doesn’t mean it’s in the series (which I think will actually be less navel gazing and more forward looking. Episode 1 may deal with ‘leaving’ but the following will be a high end reality show / obs doc.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 01/12/2022 19:24

So they must have had plans to go it alone long before they actually mentioned it?

It certainly looks that way, but who can really say?

I've always been more interested in their stated wish to remain half in/half out of the institution, and why they'd want that at all when among much else Meghan tells us she'd been driven to suicidal ideation by the horror of it all. AFAIK no interviewer's ever asked them about this, nor have any of their stauncher fans commented on why it might be

Funny, that ...

wordler · 01/12/2022 19:35

Here's the blurb for the series:

In an unprecedented and in-depth documentary series, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex share the other side of their high-profile love story.

Across six episodes, the series explores the clandestine days of their early courtship and the challenges that led to them feeling forced to step back from their full-time roles in the institution.

With commentary from friends and family, most of whom have never spoken publicly before about what they witnessed, and historians who discuss the state of the British Commonwealth today and the royal family's relationship with the press, the series does more than illuminate one couple's love story, it paints a picture of our world and how we treat each other.

From the critically-acclaimed, two-time Academy Award-nominated and Emmy-winning director Liz Garbus, Harry & Meghan is a never-before-seen look at one of the most-discussed couples in history.

So no one else thinks this is all an absolute scream? Thank goodness for tawdry gossip in the midst of a global binfire of news! Who wants to watch dull Wills and Kate at staid events when we can have all this workyticket drama?

I'd never heard the word workyticket before!

Annie232 · 01/12/2022 19:38

I also wonder what made M suicidal? The media stories? Lack of freedom? Bad press?

We know much more now than I expected.

The most telling photo by a country mile is the kitchen kiss. Supposedly a random shot taken casually. But why is Harry hanging on for dear life to the cupboards behind him? This suggests someone feeling over powered/overwhelmed. A need to literally hold on to something solid. His body language is twisted and off. I don't know whether he wanted to kiss anyone at that point, reading his body language. It looks coerced.

The second photo of the beach. I had to wonder what capacity Harry has after seeing him in that photo. It made me feel worried for him.

Lastly, just so no one is in any doubt, for sure they are GUNNING for Kate. She is the centre of everything. Or so we are led to believe. No one can miss the fact Kate has been painted into the wicked witch. Why? Because she is tall, naturally slim, effortlessly elegant and now destined to be future Queen. All the things that Meghan will never be. This is sour grapes, an extreme version of mean girls on steroids. Whatever this is, it is going to be fucking ugly and laced with sexed up photos of M&H. I hope it will be worth what they were paid to do this, because the bridge they blew up with Oprah is going to look minor compared to what is coming next. I feel most sorry for Kate.

I know, it's so cringeworthy isn't it. I thought we'd heard it all on Oprah anyhow? What else can there possibly be to say...

MarshaMelrose · 01/12/2022 19:41

So from that blurb, there's no doubt how this is going to go. An all out assault on the RF.

But when it says "share the other side " of their love story, we've only ever heard one side, haven't we?
