Awful story just broken on twitter about horrendous racist questioning from Lady Hussey to Ngozi Fulani from Sister Space at yesterdays VAWG event.

Lady Hussey has resigned.

No not really. One side of a story is always well balanced and of course true.

That would explain a lot.

Megan was probably still ill prepared and highly demanding (as some staff have leaked ) but this would explain a lot of the problems and bitterness.

BBC: An eyewitness Mandu Reid, told the BBC the questions were "offensive, racist and unwelcoming". So it's not just Ngozi Fulani account.

i also think it was incredibly vulgar. She’s friends with generations of royals, has been for decades. Do you really think they don’t know what she’s like, and that they don’t condone it?

FYI this is not a one-off occurrence for POC. I can't begin to tell you how many times I've been asked that question. Like, why are you questioning where I was born, when I've already told you? Is it really incomprehensible that a non-white person can actually be British?

It's none of Susan Hussey's bloody business anyway what Ngozi's family background is. No-one's there asking Hussey how she became a fucking lady in waiting / 'companion' to the queen.

Why didn't she just say 'I'm British but my parents came here in the 50s' and state the country in the first place . What is racist about asking about people's heritage?

If she was told she was British and her family's heritage was irrelevant that would have been racist surely.
