The Queen died from...in The Times today

In TT today, Dr Porter discusses what is in the latest biography of the Queen (by Giles B.)

Dr P seems to agree with GB that the Queen had bone cancer. He doesn't say so in so many words but he does bullet-point the signs (of which she appears to have had a number.)

I'm a Royalist (with some exceptions, of course) and feel we are being 'cheated' by (perhaps) having the reason for her death being concealed.
She was well loved and admired by millions.
Isn't the least we are owed an honest account?

I am sure everyone could see that she didn't simply die of 'old age' (in so much as anyone in their late 90s does, to a degree.) The pain she was suffering, the weight loss, the circulation problems evident in her calves (varicose ulcers for years) and her hands.

It's as if we are being taken for fools and I wonder how, legally, her dr is allowed to complete the death cert inaccurately?

My late father had 3 conditions listed on his DC, including dementia, but he'd had two other conditions (major organ deterioration) for many years as well.
Considering he was 95, then 'old age' may have covered it but it wasn't just that.

What is the point of the Palace not being honest?

That is what always happens on these threads. Someones tarts mocking others for wanting the same laws to apply to the Royal Family that apply to everyone else.

You were the one who called people who don’t care become it doesn’t affect them stupid. 🤷‍♀️

No I did not,
I said truthfully I think people who do not look beyond their own lives are stupid.

You flat out called me stupid. At least own what you say. Personally I think bitching about something that has zero effect on you is pretty pointless. Most people have enough going on in their lives to worry about.

antelopevalley · 02/12/2022 14:41

@Blossomtoes That simply is not true.

I don't think not worrying about a perfectly legal death certificate is not looking beyond your own life 🙄

antelopevalley · 02/12/2022 14:50

@smilesy Easy to post one sentence out of context and then criticise.

Well, unless you’ve had your post deleted, it’s there in black and white.

I quoted your post above verbatim. How is that out of context?

antelopevalley · 02/12/2022 15:06

There was a conversation I was replying to.
I did not call you thick. For the record I think you are bright and know exactly what you are doing.

ArcaneWireless · 02/12/2022 15:15

I will say, truthfully, that I think those who are blinkered to certain people and view only their agenda as correct may well be lacking. If some wish to call that stupidity then have at it.

Imagine if those put so much energy into actually doing something about it, instead of grizzling from the safety of their settee, then maybe just maybe - they would convince people.

As is? It sounds like bitter, jealous whining.

Go change the law if your intellect and understanding of it is superior. You will note the ‘if’. I suspect many would have done it before now if it had been required.

Some maybe should look at their own lives and be sure that they are perfect before they can criticise others constantly.

And then maybe rise up from their sofas.

And then maybe some will take note.

Until then? I suspect the many, many people bright enough on here to spot an agenda when they see it will challenge the usual suspects as they see fit.

ODFOx · 02/12/2022 15:51

My MiL (same age as the Queen) has cancer. At her age the treatment would do
more harm than the cancer. The cancer wont be her cause of death.
Why are you questioning the completely reasonable diagnosis on the Queen's death certificate? It just seems macabre.

asblindasabat · 05/12/2022 18:24

Meh. I really liked Queen Elizabeth and part of me has a morbid curiosity and would like to know the exact circumstances surrounding her death. but then is there really anything more to it? The cancer claims may not be true and she could literally have just died of ‘old age.’

But, I don’t think anyone is entitled to know anyone’s cause of death. That is private medical information and everyone is entitled to privacy.

Novella4 · 05/12/2022 22:06

@asblindasabat you do realise don't you that your death certificate will be published and available to anyone who wishes to look it up?

So 'privacy' is irrelevant . It's the law .

None of us have a right to keep our death certificate private .

Unless you are royal of course.
Even in death they make sure it js one law for them and a different one for the rest of us
I can see why they also changed the law so that only their wills are secret . Everyone else's wills are also freely available online but mustn't let the plebs see how many millions the royals have stashed
But insisting that their death certificates are the only ones to be secret ? As if they'll care once they are dead .

But they'll have a reason I'm sure
Maybe to try to maintain some kind of mystique/ they mustn't be seen to die like the rest of humanity you know !
Weird .

Weird .

What on earth are you talking about. The RF family members death certificates are publicly available, just like anyone else's.

Novella4 · 06/12/2022 04:54

Jesus

Show me Philips than ?

Just google or read the thread

They 'exempt ' themselves from the registration of deaths act

The queen died in Scotland and had to conform to their law but the form is being described as partial

No wonder the royals get away with all they do

determinedtomakethiswork · 29/11/2022 19:32

Very many people that age have cancer, but they don't die from it.

^This.

My mother died at 89 . She had leukaemia, but she didn't die of it. Many older people have cancer , but the cancer isn't aggressive and the person doesn't die of it. The Queen may well have had cancer but died of something else. Why any of us needs to know the cause , is a mystery.

Novella4 · 06/12/2022 05:09

I don't bloody need to know as I've repeatedly said below

I DO want 'royals' to follow the same laws as the rest of us

Her bloody death cert is the least of it !

Order it - see what happens

Well the poster is unlikely to do this just to satisfy you as it costs money. And as they said, the Telegraph obtained it. So yes, it is doable.

Novella4 · 06/12/2022 08:14

Lol!

Only a royalist can self deceive to this extent . It's clearly a necessary qualification

The royals excluded themselves from the registration of deaths Act 1836
Of all the las they exclude the serves from this is the one without financial gain so it will be some other weird reason
It will have some link to the thought process of people who saw rainbows over balmoral ...

smilesy · 06/12/2022 08:22

Lol. Only a poster who refuses to accept that they might be incorrect can self deceive to this extent

The Queen died from...in The Times today
Novella4 · 06/12/2022 08:44

I can't believe this .

You are clearly being deliberately disingenuous

Ok . I'll spell it out .
Someone filling in death cert is NOT what is meant by being exempt from publicly available death certs . A dr fills in a form and that's the last of it

Publicly available death certs are part of the registration of death law which applies to all the rest of us

Do you follow ??
