What with the award in a few days and the book in January they're ramping up the game.

Who are the two people who commented in 2nd trailer (a man and a woman)?

DunkingMyDonuts · 06/12/2022 00:03

What do the comments mean on the NF trailer, when they are all saying about a tear from their "left eye"? Am I missing something?!

Abcghjiu · 06/12/2022 00:13

There is video of her pre Harry where she boasts she just needs three seconds to emit a fake tear from her left eye

DunkingMyDonuts · 06/12/2022 00:15

Ah I see! Thanks @Abcghjiu

Trailer 1 - 7.1 m views
21,000 likes 273,000 dislikes

Trailer 2 - 699,000 views
12,000 likes 85,000 dislikes

I guess trailer 3 drops tomorrow. I wonder what that will contain? William ate my homework?

Netflix won't care about the dislikes.

They will love the total interest it's generating and don't assume people not liking the trailer won't watch the production.

What this demonstrates is the danger of H&M working with commercial organisations.

I posted on another thread when this project was announce about the dangers of leaving the gilded cage of "firm" where despite not being pivotal, there was an overarching benefit to protecting your position and managing public perception only to find yourself trapped in another - only one where there was no such safety net.

Whilst much has been said about the Palaces failures to protect H&M from the worst excess of the press, there is also the counter argument that is perhaps emerging , that the Palace was very effective in protecting H&M from their own hubris.

I posted this in another thread.
From the Sun ...

But in a film for her old lifestyle blog The Tig, Meghan revealed how she honed the acting ability to turn on fake tears.
The 2014 video, filmed at Soho House in Toronto, where her legal drama Suits was made, shows Meghan boasting that she can shed a tear for the camera in three seconds.
Asked by someone behind the camera if she can make herself cry, Meghan says: “Oh, I can do that so well. Oh my God, it’s crazy.
They’re like Meghan, one tear, left eye, go!” She adds: “Give me three seconds.”

Coincidentally, when the Queens hearse passed in front of her, the camera panned in and there was a tear...in her left eye. 😅

with clips of Diana and Kate being harassed by paparazzi, and a photo of Kate, Sophie and Camilla. So it looks a little sympathetic to the treatment they received as well maybe

Well I’d say he has absolutely no right to comment on their behalf - to suit his own agenda. What a cheek

Harry and Meghan can do no right.

If they hadn’t shown the other women, people would be criticising them for saying/implying it only happened to Meghan. Media social media, mumsnet posters get to post images of anyone they want to, to support the point they are making, but not Meghan and Harry.

Genesis Chapter 4 Verse 8

John 8:7, viz. “He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.”[

alasangne · 06/12/2022 06:24

I'm looking forward to hearing their side. I don't get all the hate so shall watch it and decide for myself.

JADS · 06/12/2022 07:06

@BreadInCaptivity I couldn't agree more. You have summed the situation up brilliantly. Harry was far more protected than he ever imagined, some of the shit he got away with in the past was astounding.

WeWereInParis · 06/12/2022 07:34

BornBlonde · 05/12/2022 22:36

Are all 6 episodes being released on the same date?

The trailer gives two dates, this Thursday and next. So I'd guess maybe 3 this week, 3 next.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 05/12/2022 16:02

And isn't the whole 'planting' of stories old news?

Absolutely; as you said it's been done for years, and seemingly by them all

But as themessygarden just mentioned, H&M do exactly the same and provably so (waits to be told they were only "clarifying" things or "giving background", which also doesn't cover what the emails said at all)

No wonder Meghan ... errr ... "forgot" about them Hmm

Agree “planting” and “leaking” is just the PR industry (the client eg RF / H&M / any other product / celeb) and the media working together for their own ends - ie to target and influence an audience (the client) and to sell content / column inches funded by ads piggy backed from corporates who also want exposure for their products.

Client can do it directly ie an interview or indirectly using an agency to place or sell content or via 3rd parties “a source close to x” “palace spokesperson” “Omid S” etc.

Its a process and industry of influence as old as time for opportunities to monetise and generate wealth for the client.

H&M are doing it right now with all of their “content” - they are targeting and influencing people - leaking and planting stories about others directly - they also paid Sunshine Sachs allegedly $2, 000, 000 a year to do the same.

queenofarles · 06/12/2022 08:10

The woman is their lawyer
and the man is Christopher Bouzy he owns a company that works in finding fake accounts that post negatively about certain celebs, he worked with Amber heard and the H&M. Lots of questionable stories about him and how his company works .

queenofarles · 06/12/2022 08:12

That’s for WidowTwanki ,

Serenster · 06/12/2022 08:39

Completely agree, Widow Twanki. Given the Sussexes retainer of Sunshine Sachs, their close relationship with Omid Scobie and the emails showing that they were given him information behind the scenes but had to be able to say they had nothing to do with it, and the very obvious story Meghan planted (with a Toronto gossip columnist that Meghan already knew) about snooty Kate not offering her a lift to go shopping when she was a royal girlfriend - it is utterly ludicrous that they would point the finger at others as the only parties engaging in these practices.

Several journalists have also pointed out that the place pushed back really hard and stopped many stories being run about Meghan and Harry. And of course they completely brushed the most incendiary on of all under the carpet - that she was bullying her staff.

WidowTwanki · 06/12/2022 08:40

queenofarles · 06/12/2022 08:12

That’s for WidowTwanki ,

Thanks for that. It will be interesting to see who are the “friends and family” who they state stepped up to be interviewed in the trailer.

Family can only be Doria?

Puzzledandpissedoff · 06/12/2022 08:49

Harry was far more protected than he ever imagined, some of the shit he got away with in the past was astounding

Indeed, but then they're all protected by much more skilled PR people than H&M clearly have, only these two are the only ones (well, except Edward VIII ...) who've left to pursue a different life abroad

I suspect monarchists might not like what would appear if others were suddenly shorn of the palace's PR, and apologies for dragging Andrew into it but look what happened when he also went off piste and decided to speak for himself

WidowTwanki · 06/12/2022 08:50

I suspect that the bullying report was never made public at the time and maybe saved as a threat or a retaliation to claims in the book and NF?

Although loads came out indirectly via The Courtiers book (allegations not challenged by H&M).

Or maybe the timing of the bullying report was too close to the jubilee or that the investigation was inconclusive or showed up a systemic problem of bullying within the institution that needs addressing.

Who knows.

Serenster · 06/12/2022 09:04

The report of the investigation completed after the story in the Times was never likely be published, WidowTwanki, I don’t think - firstly it would have involved confidential details about employees, and secondly as described it focussed in a large part on how the Palace responded to the complaint made in 2018, and whether its policies and procedures were fit for purpose (almost certainly not!).

I am talking more about when the bullying was actually happening, and when Jason Knauf made his complaint. There were hints that something was going on in the papers at the time - in December 2018 that Meghan had left her PA in tears, for example, but the Palace was clearly trying to damp anything down as much as possible. At the same time the stories that Meghan’s employees were workshy and didn’t like the fact she sent them emails early in the morning were put out.

(Also on the planting of stories to further the Sussexes agenda, when The Times story was published both Omid Scobie and one of Meghan’s friends gave different tv interviews where they asserted that the PA in question had been dismissed for gross misconduct, rather than resigning because she had been bullied. Which was not true. And a nice way to punch down on someone who’d already been through an awful experience at the Duchess’ hands. But now of course the story is that Meghan and Harry are the poor victims of the mistreatment…)

It came up because there was a stunningly beautiful photo of Meghan (who is a beautiful woman) at the Queens funeral. Full face to camera - single tear from her left eye.

Samcro · 06/12/2022 09:32

I only get tears out of one eye. so might be a thing.

With me you can only ever get mild eye watering (both eyes) or ugly face snottery hysteria. There appears to be no middle ground. Pretty crying is a talent I would love to have but feel at 50 it's way too late now.

Readinginthesun · 06/12/2022 09:40

There are photos on SM of H and M arriving on their private jet in New York yesterday ( are there no commercial flights between LA and NY ?) .
How fortunate that a Backgrid photographer was on hand to capture the moment .

Wish someone would teach me too as I always end up red eyed , red nosed and blotchy !

Can you do it on command with a three second turnaround though?
