In preparation for the books release , and with permission from randompenguin , I thought it would be good to start this thread now !

I always remember this quote from Wallis.

”I’m not a beautiful woman. I’m nothing to look at, so the only thing I can do is dress better than anyone else”

And she was VERY stylish!

Whereas I think Meghan is naturally very beautiful but she isn’t very stylish. I don’t think she knows how to dress for her body type (which has changed after having kids) and she tends to favour trends. For example she seems to be following the oversized, relaxed fit trend that’s hot at the moment. But it really doesn’t suit her (or anyone really unless you are young, tall and willowy). When she wears tailored, better fitted clothes, she looks amazing. I love her in a blouse and pencil skirt combination 🥰

i’ve said the same, but I wonder does she think this combs was her ‘suits wardrobe’ so she wants to move on? Which is understandable, but a pity

Just hazarding a crazy wild guess, but maybe the fact he is an incredibly wealthy, well-known English Prince? I dunno, just a thought

I agree with you, @NiqueNique - it was a challenging first year to get used to formal dressing, but by and large she was successful. As we often note on Royal S&B 😉!

do you think as a far more professional poster than me that her clothes should be tailored to fit better and would she benefit from an Audrey Hepburn /givenchy style relationship ?

hmm I don’t know I reckon you have style or you don’t. My sister has great style. Always has. Even in jeans.

I on the other hand look like I’ve been dragged through a hedge backwards no matter what I wear 😢

It will be interesting to see the book in print, named sources in all their glory, the bullying behaviour out in the open for all to see.

Ironically sunshine Sachs who specialises in crisis PR management’ are off the scene now. Their method of crisis management with Harvey Weinstein included following the victims looking for ways to smear them

Audrey was beautiful and she had a beautiful elegant voice too and she always looked so elegant.

a lot of Kardasian style fashion leaves me cold so I avoid the fashion magazines these days

megan is standing next to Harry so that makes her ‘channel’ Wallis 🤣🤣🤣🤣

The words Kardashian, fashion and style do not belong in the same sentence.

So I don't think a failure to be blown over by said style is any reflection on yourself @Ohnonevermind

Audrey was incredibly beautiful and one of those people with such innate style that she would wear a black bin liner well.

Very few people can compare to her. Though thinking about her, without googling images, the pictures of her that come to my mind are the little black dress in Breakfast at Tiffany's and her in well ironed cotton shirts and neat trousers doing charity work in Africa. Was she a fashion icon? I think her style was all about her, meaning the clothes she wore absolutely did not demand attention over and above her luminous self.

I think the reason Meghan looks so good in that blue dress is because it's not tightly fitted and doesn't define her waist. Those lines that go across her body like the waistlines, belts and even shoulder details across the back of her coat cut her body into sections and make her look boxier. She looks so much better in looser longline dresses, like her wedding evening dress. She has a great figure but somehow she often fails to show it at its best.
I love her smart casual style.

IMO, when they were younger, William was more attractive. Then in his late 20s, William started to look older and a bit boring but Harry was growing into his looks and was much more attractive, especially as he was outgoing, always laughing. But now William seems like he's made peace with his life and he carries himself confidently which is attractive. Whereas Harry looks diminished in some way. Maybe lack of certainty in his future?
When the four of them did the flower inspection at Windsor, Williams authority shone through. He just looked more confident in his role. For me he's gone back to be the better looking and Harry looks a bit scruffy and has gone off the boil.
(Nothing to do with how happy either of them are in their lives or marriages!)

God I hate this trend, when it is going to be over? I'm sick of it already. I'm trying to learn to sew and the amount of sack-with-two-armholes being sold as 'easy' on trend dress patterns! Might as well go down to Morrisons and buy an extra large sack of potatoes, and resuse the bag as clothing when done. How's that for environmental recycling!

Ah that’s the famous skit I was thinking of but could t remember! So funny.

Harry always looked like he was someone that was fun to be around.
Laughing and joking, he seems to have really lost that sparkle, but to be fair the recent occasions we have seen him have been fairly solum (sorry spelling).
He's not exactly going to crack jokes at a funeral is what I'm trying to say. And we never saw much of him at the jubilee.

Also all this talk of fashion makes me think that instead of ‘courtiers’, the thread should be titled couturiers. (Yes I amuse myself.)
