In preparation for the books release , and with permission from randompenguin , I thought it would be good to start this thread now !

Sure - getting Kate to take on Uk school performance, why not. There are probably loads of things we could suggest the members of the royal family do instead of what they do now.

However - none of that would help improve Harry and Meghan's current reputation (and soon to be money) issues.

That's all I was discussing - what I would suggest if I was hired to be there reputation and brand repair person. Has absolutely nothing to do with the other royals.

I presume Harry has been left a lot of money by the Queen and Philip. It will keep them going for a few years. Her clothes budget alone must be huge.

The biggest costs have got to be the house and the security. The team they were using were charging $9000 a DAY! So security costs could be anywhere between $1-3 million a year. Property taxes and utilities are insane in part of the US - where they are with that size of house they could be paying minimum of $500,000 a year for taxes, utilities, landscaping and staffing. That's not including a mortage which it was implied they have.

Then their PR firm Sunshine Sachs charges could be up to $1-2 million a year. Even if they had the minimum representation there and minimal legal fees it would be at least $500,000 a year.
They are still renting Frogmore, add in all the clothing, travelling, kids costs, personal assistants, car rentals etc. I can't imagine them living on less than $5-10 million a year. Inheritances don't last very long at that rate.

Regardless of how, they have achieved their initial objective. Now is the time to grow. And with lucrative long-term business deals on the cards they will almost certainly increase their net worth. I don’t think they need to be counting the pennies just yet – if ever.

It is H's family wealth alone which generates the lifestyle they are enjoying. M is very fortunate because she gets to spend his money and make all the decisions. She is even more fortunate because he does not seem to have the massive ego/status needs of other very wealthy men - most of whom would never have considered an older divorcee (unless they were in a similar situation themselves).
They can be complete nightmares and require you to drop everything and be at their beck and call and treat them like deities but I don't sense any of that .. yet.

Not a kardashian fan but I do think in fairness, they know what their usp is and really own their brand....No way could Meghan and Harry say the same or replicate their business model.

Harry has never been financially independent, he has either lived off the public purse, inheritances from Diana and the QM and cash injections from Charles, his riches are completely unearned bar his stint in the military, pretty much like all members of the RF. I am no Meghan fan at all but at least pre Harry she earned herself a comfortable if not mega rich lifestyle which cannot be said of Harry.

Although I understand that Prince Harry will be donating proceeds to charity. Well, why not? He can most likely afford it.

He definitely can afford it if he donates the proceeds to Archewell. Otherwise, I don't know if he can afford it.

Why would Invictus pay Harry? He's the Patron. As far as I understand it, patrons don't even attend meeting or make decisions. Patrons are just for publicity purposes. And they don't get paid.

And don't forget...he's busy sorting the pipes out. That takes a lot of his time.

I don't know jibba. But right or wrong, that is what they're doing. How can they do any different? They're using their documentary and the podcasts to hype their charity. And they're using their charity work to make themselves so popular that they will be paid huge sums to do documentaries and podcasts.
But what else can they do? They need money. Neither of them have the ability to generate the amount they need through their own skills. They have to self-promote. It's an awkward situation they find themselves in.

Selling out and compromising their integrity, maybe they aren’t so dissimilar to that famous American family after all

This is just NOT going to happen. It just won't. I know people say he wants to emend the book but that's not happening either. Harry can't see beyond his own hurts. He seems to have no awareness about others. So this is just about people listening to him and hearing his problems. He's been forgiven for so many things, had actions covered up so many times, he's not in touch with the reality that some things can't be made right.
