In preparation for the books release , and with permission from randompenguin , I thought it would be good to start this thread now !

I agree, it just seems like their plans didn’t take into account the scenario that a 96 year old might die.

Why shouldn't he write his own take on his own life?

He's said he needs money. The only reason anyone is interested in him is because he's related to the Queen and the present King and the future King. And of course Diana. It would be bizarre, therefore, if the publishers did not want stories about his life with these people. And they won't want fluffy, light crap.
Of course, he can sell his own story. But he's shown that he's willing to lie and allow uncorrected lies to be told. Thereby showing that he's only interested in his truth, and not THE truth. He wants it all his own way, to have his privacy respected but at the,same time yo betray the privacy of those close to him.
I could be wrong, though, and maybe the book will just be lovely anecdotes, like going on log flumes with his mum and brother.

I guess if he isn't allowed to amend the first book. His second one could be called ,
Out in the cold : No way Back.

The courtiers book said nothing that wasn't already published in a paper but you all still bought it. In the hope it contained even more crap about H&M.

As so many of you quite clearly like works of fiction, why not use your time to write your own book instead of writing fantasy extracts about a couple who live their lives free from any knowledge of your existence?

Their global appeal and their ability to earn considerably is not going to wane because you’ve convinced yourself that they are one step away from destitution. You also have no influence on their lives – none whatsoever – so why invest so much of your time speculating on what they do, say, wear, and why?

If you really want to delve into the ins and outs of Harry’s life – wait around and buy the book! That’ll keep him out of the red 😅

So after bullying and demeaning posters on the podcast thread, a bunch of you have come onto this thread to make inflammatory comments, curiouser and curiouser.

Inflammatory? I don’t see how. Not unless you’re one of those people that enjoys writing ‘fantasy extracts’ but doesn’t want the spotlight shone on you. But if so, it’s curious why you would publish your works on a public forum.

I think ‘global appeal’ is the real fantasy on here. I seem to recall a UN speech to a largely empty room,

I tuned in for their wedding, as did millions of others. no one knew then what lying, self-serving arse-holes they would turn out to be. "The Glory has Departed" well and truly.

Funnily enough, I was wondering the same thing. There is the mature voice-of-reason under one username and the catty, snippy one hiding behind the name change.

There is a common theme of how none of us can possibly affect the perfect life of the glorious duchess, her devoted princely husband and her adorable kiddiwinks.

In which case, why bother adopting multiple user names to chastise her critics?

J.R. Moehringer is a fantastic writer. His book on Andre Agassi is one of the best sports books I've ever read. I'm curious to see what he does with this but probably not enough to buy it. I might flick through it in the shops when it comes out. I don't trust Harry to tell the truth about his life, based on the very self-serving accounts he's given in interviews.

I thought the "not as the prince I was born, but the man I've become" was a clear attempt to sidestep the issue of Harry's enormous wealth and privilege in order to seem make him seem more relatable, particularly in America. I will be very surprised if Harry addresses his past racism and the Nazi uniform. At best I think he'll hand wave it away as symptoms of his inner turmoil, expecting everyone to just nod along.

@IcedPurple It's funny how those who shoo you off their thread before you have even contributed have no problem with posting on this one. Do as I say not do as I do, I'm sure I have seen that before. 😏

I would imagine the publishers are getting a little pissed off, as the book has had to be re-written once as it focussed too heavily on Harry's mental health, and now he wants further amendments in view of HM's death.

The hypocrisy is astounding, I’ve seen several posters bullied and silenced repeatedly on that thread. A shame, as it’s an interesting topic and there were a lot of insightful posts, even if I didn’t necessarily agree with them all. And most posters were ok handling polite disagreeing and debate. As usual, the loud minority ruined it for the rest. Silly me, thought it was a public forum, not a sycophantic echo chamber.

No one has done that. They’ve just held a mirror up to remind you of your realities.

I have no idea how <what > He will fill his books with , other than his mother’s death, starting invictus, I can’t think of anything out of the ordinary someone with privilege hasn’t gone through, Eton, sandhurst , army , parties , philanthropic work in Africa,
i know loads who have done exactly the same in their 20s before settling in their 30s.
