I've been wondering about this all week.

What do people think? Would William want that ? Would Kate?

Harry and Meghan weren't in USA in mid 2019

PipinwasAuntieMabelsdog · 19/09/2022 16:03

Harry has a trust fund. Why does it matter that Charles gave his step children some money? He was happily and generously supporting Harry and his family until a year after Harry left his job. I wish my job had such a severance package. If they are hard up, they could buy a smaller and more discreet house.

antelopevalley · 19/09/2022 16:03

I was wrong. Archie was only one month old when Balmoral happened. They did fly over for a brief visit and took part in Trooping the Colour.
I don't know how old Archie was when they went to Nice?

Exactly

Theyve behaved impeccably this trip yet there's a huge amount of negative press and made up crap

If I were Meghan I wouldn't want to hurry back here

this
also hope they put A back in the cupboard.

SallyLockheart · 19/09/2022 16:08

Archie was born in May 2019. The Queen resides in Balmoral over the summer holidays - july/august - so he was three/four months old

do you actually know what you are talking about?

queenofarles · 19/09/2022 16:09

They first went to Ibiza then to Nice .
Balmoral is always late August.
I think Archie was around 3 or 4 months old.

Okay they were invited. Can you think why they might have declined an invite from the Queen to join Charles and William?
In their case I would have declined it too.

And in August 2019 Archie was only three months old. How many MN mothers would have flown from America to Scotland to spend a holiday with their in-laws with a three-month-old baby?

Look I hate to keep contradicting you but in August 2019 , H and M were still working members of the RF living in Frogmore .

Readinginthesun · 19/09/2022 16:15

As for declining an invitation, have you seen the size of Balmoral ? Birkhall ? Not to mention numerous cottages on the ( heavily guarded) estate . I am pretty sure they could have spent time with The Queen without bumping into Charles or William .

antelopevalley · 19/09/2022 16:19

Archie would have been two/three months at Balmoral. He was born on the 6th of May. Balmoral happens from mid-July. Balmoral was late August in 2022, later than normal. 2019 it was mid-July.
By mid-August they were in NICE.

But they are held to standards no other family would be. Can you imagine an AIBU? My son is 3 and a half months old. AIBU to go on a family holiday in NICE instead of going on a holiday with the in-laws in Scotland to their holiday home? You know everyone would say go on a family holiday.
They are constantly reminded by everyone they are unimportant to the Royal Family. So why should they not do what is best for their own nuclear family?

Ah thanks.

Maireas · 19/09/2022 16:22

No-one on here is criticising them for not going.
They are correcting the claim that either they went (unseen and unheard), or were not invited.

SallyLockheart · 19/09/2022 16:23

if you google it, the queen typically was in balmoral from mid july to early september every year - and no change in 2019

Good try ( again) however the reason they gave for not going to Balmoral was that it was too far to travel with Archie .
Now, geography isn’t my strong point but I am pretty sure that Balmoral is closer to Windsor than Nice .

Yet, Charles arranged millions for Camilla's adult children. Making sure they had a nice little trust fund. But can't do anything for a son facing threats, with a baby grandson.

Really?

Where did you read about his?

It was widely reported.

His money, his choice.
He seems to provide well for all his family - so why not step children?

Grin

And yes to Andrew being put away… preferably in HIS Majesty’s prison at HIS pleasure but a cupboard will do. (I find it fascinating all the admin that will need to done to change from a Queen to a King).

notanotheroneagain · 19/09/2022 16:35

While his wee little grandson was still a baby, Charles unceremoniously snatched his security, while his team leaked his whereabouts to the press.

He took care of Camilla before he married her.

On MN are all children in blended families not mean to be treated equally?

I hadn't seen that, thank you.

So he gave his godson & sibling a lump sum each.

Hasn't he supported both hos sons & their families for quite some time?

Charles "snatched" security away from a small baby, his own grandson?

When ? It was only when H and M decided to leave as working royals and move to America that their Met security was removed .
