Do Camilla and Charles live separately?

EdieLedwell · 15/09/2022 17:29

She was dropped off in Wiltshire. I was surprised they didn't stay together today.

I'm not hating btw just genuinely curious and I kind of admire her for creating her own space if
It's true.

ALSO, because it's driving me crazy, did Anne and Tim separate briefly back in the nougties?

I'm sure I remember it being announced on Sky, but it was never mentioned again and he seemed to continue accompanying her to Royal engagements.

Just a really daft thought on Charles and Camilla and the multiple houses, do they carry clothes between houses, or is it whatever they take off in that house gets washed there?

I get special outfits esp Camillas will get moved around.

The whole lot of it sounds nuts, not being able to find something because your looking in the multiple rooms in the wrong house.😵‍💫

The many people who have told me they saw him in gay clubs back in the day.

You are beginning to sound quite unhinged.
Well, I say beginning...

I’ve been wondering about the hat Lady Louise wore the other day that had previously been worn by Kate Middleton at a wedding before she was married and had then been worn by Beatrix or Eugenie a few years ago before being worn by Louise just a few days ago.

Do they phone each other and say remember that hat you wore 15 years ago, do you still have it and if so can I borrow it? Or is there a big storage facility somewhere and they leave clothes there that anyone can wear when the need arises?

I wondered that too!

I can certainly imagine the women in the family borrowing stuff.

Gather together all the black hats and find her one that suits. Possibly less stressful than bringing a company in with black hats for her to buy one.

Kids clothes esp the classic stuff seems to get kept their are balcony photos of a very young George in an outfit Harry wore.

And Bea raided Grannies wardrobe for her wedding.

UrsulaPandress · 17/09/2022 21:45

I’m sure there is a central wardrobe. With staff.

Coronateachingagain · 17/09/2022 21:48

FirstFallopians · 15/09/2022 17:39

Doesn’t she love being a hands-on granny and Charles isn’t arsed, so they live apart?

I can’t imagine he’s a particularly easy person to live with, even with an army of servants.

This.

That makes sense for the 'working' wardrobes especially for kids and women.

I'd actually being thinking personal & casual stuff like t-shirts and boxers does Charles have boxers and socks in every house or do they get packed at taken with him.

Even media stuff, OK he probably streams music now but would he have had CDs or books in every house? Can't find THAT book because it was left 3 houses ago.

I had a time in my life living between two houses drove me nuts keeping track of stuff, I can't imagine keeping track of stuff in multiple houses.

antelopevalley · 17/09/2022 22:15

I read somewhere that there are big storage units full of clothes all stored in order of type of item and colour.

I read years ago (I have NO idea whether its accurate) that Charles has his bed packed up along with bedroom furniture and transported to wherever he is going.

I'd have thought when ordering furniture, he'd have the same item ordered in multiples so he could have, for example, the same mattress everywhere.

Observing his behaviour over the pens this week, I imagine he has servants running around getting him whatever he wants at all times so he doesn't do more than throw a strop when he is looking for something. His servants do it all for him.

I imagine there might be a few changes now HMQ and PP are dead.

Anne will get her divorce.
Peter Phillips will finalise his and remarry. Maybe even have more DC's.
Fergie and Andy will remarry (and hopefully disappear).
Williams affairs will become less discreet.

Williams affairs?? I heard about it couple of years ago by friends but I couldn't believe it. Could you tell us more?

Dinoteeth · 17/09/2022 23:17

I honestly don't believe they move furniture around multiple houses. Maybe they have moved it once from one place to another, when he moved out of his last London home into Clarence House or something but the press would have a field day over the cost if they moved it multiple times a month.

Identical mattresses / duvets would be a more sensible option if he felt that strongly about his bed.

I'll give you the short version.

People believe William has an affair with a woman called Rose.

But Pippa (Catherine's sister) named her daughter Rose....now I'm not sure any sister would name their daughter after their uncles mistress 🤦🏻‍♀️

So it's all just crap gossip.

He doesn’t need to keep track of anything, it’s done for him.

He’d have a set of clothes in every house.

A valet to manage his wardrobe so anything special would be brought for him because the valet and diary secretary would liaise over what clothes he needed for the weeks ahead.

He’d have a system for the valet to pick up the books he’s reading from his bedside table when he was on the move. His secretary would do the same from his desk.

Anything he wanted doubled up in houses like favourite books would be.

By people do you mean
spurious gossip in the tabloids? You do talk a load of rubbish.

Excuse me? Where the hell do you get off telling me that I “do talk a lot of rubbish”? I’ve never come across you on a thread before, I’ve been on half a dozen threads max in the last year as I took a MN break, and I’ve only made 4-5 posts on this thread.

And yes I mean spurious gossip in the tabloids as well as people speculating in an ignorant/homophobic way that was quite of it’s time.

Agreed. Their events and engagements are planned in advance and it will be agreed ahead of time what he will be wearing e.g. black tie, lounge suit, etc. And his valet will know what to have for being around the house, riding, etc. It is staff who manage all this, not Charles.

justasking111 · 18/09/2022 01:00

These days I can imagine spreadsheet details of what and where is each item. Catherine, Anne and Diana had clothes altered cleverly to update them. Camilla has favourite footwear as did the Queen.

Also not affairs plural. One affair , and no evidence at all it ever happened apart from Giles Coren tweeting about it and then deleting it immediately.
Who knows what happened. The two of them could have been spending a lot of time together as friends and it was misinterpreted. Or Kate felt it was all becoming a bit uncomfortable. I think we have all seen this sort of thing happen with friends.

There was a book written about Charles a few years ago which was a real eye opener. Shocking how indulged he is and how little he does for himself. My opinion of him really went downhill after reading it.
There was an occasion when Harry was cleaning his boots before a Polo match years ago that Charles was playing it as well. Charles was teasing Harry about it and H retorted ‘at least I’m cleaning them myself’.

Posting about how it’s well known in theatre circles that Edward is gay is really quite nasty. It’s just repeating tabloid gossip from years ago and has no basis in fact. He’s married with two children. He seems a decent loving husband and father. I just find it rather distasteful.

There’s nothing wrong with being gay and suggesting someone has a lavender marriage for appearances without evidence isn’t very pleasant.

Right, thank you it’s clear now. You’ve idiotically got me confused with another poster. It was @AnnieSnap who said it was well known in theatre circles he was gay. I said nothing of the sort. I was in theatre circles myself at one point for a while and never heard that.

What I did hear, as I was correcting @antelopevalley on, was that the tabloids and people did speculate that Edward was gay since he was “arty”. Because, ignorance and homophobia at the time, as I said above. I certainly didn’t say that those speculations were true and I wouldn’t say that because I have no knowledge that they are.

SilverLiningPlaybook · 18/09/2022 06:33

Sorry if I did confuse you with someone else! The quote function has obviously not worked due to me making a mistake. I haven’t trawled back to the original comment but apologies if I got you mixed up with someone else.

HeddaGarbeld · 18/09/2022 06:46

You did. (Get me mixed up with the two posters I @ed above, that is.)

Apology accepted Wink

I'm single and if I ever met someone I would have this arrangement .

Me too. I think I'd rather always he be the host too. Keep my own place neat and clean and leave his the minute cabin fever sets in (preferably before bed time) 😂
