Years after my mum died, my dad bought a flat below his lady friend. Was the top 2 floors of an old house - they had a front door to their 2 properties and so it was separate from the ground floor, so seemed like 1 huge house, but they had their own spaces, kitchens lounges, and bedrooms.

I don’t live with my husband. We started out early 30’s with a child each and the logistics of his work ( he’s away alot) and mine ( lots of price meal work) was detrimental to a combined home life.
18 years later and we have never lived together and only would if we have our own spaces. Life is too short to hate each other because they do the dishwasher wrong.

The queen and Philip definitely lived together during covid. A servant told the story that he entered the dining room while they were eating breakfast and they were having a few words. And Philip called her silly. And the Queen said. "I'm not silly, I'm The Queen." Argument finished.

Prince Philip lived separately with his woman partner coach driver in a cottage at Sandringham. I think they even let her attend the funeral.

Are you talking about Penny Braeburn, Countess Mountbatten who is married to the 3rd Earl Mountbatten, grandson of Louis Mountbatten, Prince Philips uncle. As such the whole RF is very close to the Mountbattens - Prince Charles gave their daughter away at her wedding at Windsor because the 3rd Earl now has Alzheimers. Penny Braeburn lives at Broadlands in Hampshire and runs the estate. She lives 70 miles away from Windsor.

It all came to a head in the months leading up to a big event where all the key people in the services would have had to publicly salute Andrew. They made it known this would be intolerable. Finally the Queen gave way.

Aren't they now allowing Harry to wear his medals to the funeral. Harry made the others look ridiculous. The one who earned his medals the most in a suit while the others played dress up. They must be raging he will be back in his uniform but anything to keep the people on side and stop them questioning their own status.

Personally I'd say that Andrew earned his medals more than Harry. But Harry made his own choice knowing the conseqyence and he seemed OK with that so...🤷
