I've seen a clip on Instagram where a group of women completely blanked MM when she spoke to them. It was awful to watch.
I feel so sorry for her, she didn't deserve that at all.
I saw another clip where someone had asked her for a hug, she obliged and when they hugged she really held the member of public and closed her eyes, it looked as if she really needed that hug .
No wonder she ran away from the UK

Meghan’s no stranger to rudeness so I wouldn’t feel too sorry for her.

Have you examples?

I am a woman of colour and I feel absolutely offended when posters throw the racist accusation at anyone who says anything negative about her. I have experienced racism directly and I have never uttered words or thoughts that could be construed as such. I have sat and watched her insult the Royal Family left ,right and centre and she knows what she is doing even down to the threats about her journal and how she can say what she wants on her podcasts. She is a calculating, vindictive person. She can preach service, kindness and compassion to the nth degree but her actions do not reflect her words. Sorry but I don't like her because of her words and actions not because of her colour. I am not a Royalist either before I get accused of that.
So I'm sorry but if people have snubbed her on a walkabout she shouldn't be surprised. People are reacting to her from her actions and words.

A perfect summing up of the situation, I think. Thank you coolmum!

Thanks for the giggles, Blue Kaftan 😂

derxa · 12/09/2022 17:27

I felt a bit sorry for Meghan when she appeared with W&K and Harry. I thought it was brave of her. But then she was rude to a royal aide. I can't work her out at all.

I have fallen into this trap before, and given examples, only to be told that it’s nuts/obsessive/pathetic that I would go to the effort to do this. So thank you, but I won’t do so on this occasion.

You could always go and read Revenge, which has plenty of sourced and footnoted examples, often from named contributors.

Can you explicitly list the insults she has thrown at the Royal family. I've asked numerous times on this thread and have had no reply.

(I realise you are asking someone else, but here's my two-pennyworth!)

Just watch Oprah. It's one long moan with teasing hints. They alleged that someone asked how dark Archie's skin would be (I think that was it...apologies if inaccurate). They said it wasn't the Q or D of E, but otherwise managed to slur the whole RF with this teasing and cowardly allegation. Also...did they challenge the person at the time? I don't know, but if not, why not? We only have their word that this happened, but if it did, surely it should have been resolved within the family???? I think that's what people are horrified by - the old expression, 'washing your dirty linen in public' expresses it.

Then there's the ghost-written memoir, presumably of more self-obsessed whingeing, which Harry is due to publish in time for the Christmas market. And Meghan has said that, since she didn't sign anything legally, she can say what she likes...which is a threat...and not even a veiled one.

I wouldn't mind them slagging off the RF etc if they didn't want it both ways. They kept expressing love for the Q (and I think Harry even popped over to see her, ostensibly to 'check she was OK and being looked after properly, recently. A bit rich from someone whose antics must have caused both his grandparents great upset and hurt. Do one or the other, but don't try to have it both ways. How did either of these dimwits suppose their Oprah interview and other snipey comments would go down????

Puzzledandpissedoff · 12/09/2022 17:33

Regardless of what people seem to think, the press were vile to Meghan looong before Oprah or any of the other stuff

Quite right, they were; just Danny Baker's filth and the "(almost) straight outta Compton" would be enough to loathe their approach without anything else

So I'll ask once again why it was thought necessary to edit the background headlines on the Oprah interview to give an even worse impression than the reality, when all that's going to do is damage their credibility?

You mean when she calmly and politely said to an aide (re flowers), "I will put them over there, thank you. I appreciate that though".

??

I see someone shouted “Andrew you’re a sick old man” as he walked down the Royal Mile today behind the hearse carrying his mother’s body.

I’m genuinely interested to see what the posters on this thread think about that?

I agree with that but not with someone shouting it at him at his mother's service.

LondonWolf · 12/09/2022 17:36

You mean when she calmly and politely said to an aide (re flowers), "I will put them over there, thank you. I appreciate that though".

And the rest of it - another aide asked her, she tried to refuse again and then Harry intervened and she finally gave them up. Not sure what the issue was but clearly there was a plan, which they were as politely as possibly trying to keep her to.

Not sure how saying “i told them i would place them over there, so you’re good! thank you, i appreciate that” is rude. It's just stating what happened and thanking someone for an offer of help.

BellaCiao1 · 12/09/2022 17:19

She slapped the hand away of the man who was helping her out of her wedding carriage, she dismissed with a wave of her hand the £32m wedding. She glared at little Charlotte at the wedding then smiled at the other children, she lied about no one helping her adjust to being in the RF, she has accused people of calling her children the N word but has not elaborated further, she lied about being ‘silenced’ then forgot and said she’s never signed anything and has always had her voice, she spoke about herself all through her 7 minute speech instead of putting the focus on the reason she was there, etc etc etc You get the picture?

whynotwhatknot · 12/09/2022 17:37

So she publicly called put someone for making a racial slur about their son (but exonerated the DoE and the Queen). They didn't say who to save the integrity of said person. If the RF were completely innocent why would they not demand Meghan say who it was? Or perhaps they'd rather it not be public knowledge.

Remember the independent investigation the RF did about claims of bullying on Meghan's part - the never published their findings. Funny that.

You can't use a tell all book Harry is writing as an example of insults considering you haven't read it and no excerpts from it.

BellaCiao1 · 12/09/2022 17:03

In the 48 hours following the Queen's death the Daily Mail ran 15 negative articles about Meghan and one about Andrew.

Meghan has dealt with much more shit from the press than Kate ever did.

I haven't seen these stories. I detest Andrew who should be in prison. Though it depends what the stories are. If they're relevant and current and to do with the current situation it's possible - just - that Andrew's kept his head down and Meghan hasn't and that's a different matter. All depends on context and what's being written.

She probably saw the headlines

"Lazy, work shy Meaghan foists flowers on Royal aide as she can't be bothered to place them to the side herself"

The girl can't win. She had negative Daily Mail articles for touching her hair too much ffs.

People don’t like her because she constantly slags off the royal family and caused the D of E and the Queen a lot of heartache in their last years. She may be completely accurate in her representation and entitled to do it, but don’t expect the people who respect the Queen enough to travel to London to pay their respects to be happy with your choices.

also asking a member of the public for a hug is just weird and needy.

This poster may have gotten the wrong end of the stick with the hug, but her first paragraph is absolutely spot on.

The Queen meant a lot to so many people. Millions of folk have a great deal of respect for her and there are a lot of people in this country who aren't going to take kindly to some shit stirring Z list actress slagging her off on American television. She and her husband no doubt caused the Queen a lot of heartache in her final years.

As said so often, behind closed doors I haven't the least doubt they did, since that would be the obvious thing to do when something so incendiary had been alleged in public

Whether H&M had a coherent answer is something we can't possibly know

She didn't say it calmly or politely. She was rude. And why did she want to place them anyway. She saw what the others were doing.
