I've seen a clip on Instagram where a group of women completely blanked MM when she spoke to them. It was awful to watch.
I feel so sorry for her, she didn't deserve that at all.
I saw another clip where someone had asked her for a hug, she obliged and when they hugged she really held the member of public and closed her eyes, it looked as if she really needed that hug .
No wonder she ran away from the UK

Great post, so agree.

I would've loved to have given her a hug

Blinky21 · 12/09/2022 16:56

MM spoke out about racist treatment (by documented racists) and rather than believe her, people vilify her. Tells you all you need to know about England.

SnottyLottie · 12/09/2022 16:56

Considering Andrew just got publicly heckled during the cortège in Edinburgh I think Meghan got off lightly 😬

She was only snubbed and I suppose people aren’t obliged to shake hands with the royals. I thought it was rude that she looked back clearly wanting a reaction but Meghan seemed oblivious.

MyStarBoy · 12/09/2022 16:58

Yawn
She's a disrespectful and very broken/disfunctional women and you're feeling sorry for her??

IDidntKnowItWasAParty · 12/09/2022 16:28

Meghan is the rudest person imaginable. She hates Britain - I would blank her too.

Oh the irony!

AllTheCarsForMe · 12/09/2022 16:51

TBF, Kate was hounded by the press for years. Remember "Waity Katie" and the obsession with her sister's bum? So she does know what Meghan has been through too, I would think.

I also imagine that Kate probably went through a lot if vetting with the royal family to ensure that she won't leak stories etc., which she presumably passed.

So to say that she can do no wrong isn't fair given that she has earned her stripes, so to speak.

Not that I think either woman should have been hounded by the press. I don't.

In the 48 hours following the Queen's death the Daily Mail ran 15 negative articles about Meghan and one about Andrew.

Meghan has dealt with much more shit from the press than Kate ever did.

Brideandpredjudice · 12/09/2022 17:04

I'd have done more than blank her.

I'd have asked her where she got the audacity to turn up from.

LondonWolf · 12/09/2022 17:04

I've seen the videos of this young man being assaulted and then arrested, time and a place and all of that but he's not wrong.

I found it interesting that members of the crowd turned on him till the police intervened and then drowned him out by shouting "God Save The King!"

fionaapple · 12/09/2022 17:04

Yupsuuuure · 12/09/2022 16:06

The sort of people who are gathering in crowds because of the queen's death are freaking weirdos anyway. If i was her i wouldn't be bothered what those mindless sheep think about her.

Megan hasn't done anything wrong. If Harry really wanted to remain part of the royal family, he would have. If she was only after status and money, she would have persuaded him to stay. To me that says she wanted to be with him for him, not because he was a prince.

Plus, we all have the right to speak our truth about things that have happened. If she's been treated badly, she's allowed to talk about it. If he wants to talk about his life as a royal, he's allowed to do that. Whether it upsets people and they have to face that those who have been put on a pedestal for generations may not be perfect in every respect. Tough. Times are changing.

Its fucked up that people are more bothered about her than they are Andrew.

This. And she'd be right to call Britain racist (which she hasn't).

BellaCiao1 · 12/09/2022 17:04

coolmum123 · 12/09/2022 16:52

I am a woman of colour and I feel absolutely offended when posters throw the racist accusation at anyone who says anything negative about her. I have experienced racism directly and I have never uttered words or thoughts that could be construed as such. I have sat and watched her insult the Royal Family left ,right and centre and she knows what she is doing even down to the threats about her journal and how she can say what she wants on her podcasts. She is a calculating, vindictive person. She can preach service, kindness and compassion to the nth degree but her actions do not reflect her words. Sorry but I don't like her because of her words and actions not because of her colour. I am not a Royalist either before I get accused of that.
So I'm sorry but if people have snubbed her on a walkabout she shouldn't be surprised. People are reacting to her from her actions and words.

Can you explicitly list the insults she has thrown at the Royal family. I've asked numerous times on this thread and have had no reply.

Grin

I wouldn't have had the nerve but I wouldn't have shaken her hand or acknowledged her. It's a free country, as long as people aren't being aggressive or disturbing the peace they are free to decide who they interact with.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 12/09/2022 17:08

Serenster · 12/09/2022 16:53

I see someone shouted “Andrew you’re a sick old man” as he walked down the Royal Mile today behind the hearse carrying his mother’s body.

I’m genuinely interested to see what the posters on this thread think about that?

It's not something I'd have chosen to say at such an occasion, but I don't think the content was wrong - though arrogant, repulsive and entitled would have done just as well

Witchofthedales · 12/09/2022 17:08

For God's bloody sake, leave her alone! So sick of people bashing Meghan. The press in this country have a lot to answer for.

SeptemberPumpkin · 12/09/2022 17:08

SlouchingTowardsBethlehemAgain · 12/09/2022 13:22

Some people don't like Megan because they are racists.

Bollocks.

Serenster · 12/09/2022 17:09

In the 48 hours following the Queen's death the Daily Mail ran 15 negative articles about Meghan and one about Andrew.

Not according the the search function on the Mail Online - they list 45 articles about Prince Andrew in the last week (he’s third highest in fact after the Queen and the King) and 25 on Meghan (she’s 9th on the list with two more than Liz Truss in 10th)

The media were awful to Kate when she and William were dating.
Camilla had to endure some horrific treatment from the press when everything became public.
They bore it quietly and never complained, never explained. Now they have earned the respect of the people (most of them)but it took a long time.
William tried to persuade Harry to take things at a slower pace with Meghan and ease her into the role but he kicked off and that's what started the rift. It all went downhill from there unfortunately

This comment is unbelievable. So Camilla and Kate had to endure years of lies and abuse about them and say nothing, and because they did not challenge it, they are worthy of respect?!

Swap Camilla and Kate out for your children at school and imagine they had to endure years of bullying. Do you think they should have quietly endured it so that they could earn the respect of their bullies? Seriously, that is some fucked up thinking.

Regardless of what people seem to think, the press were vile to Meghan looong before Oprah or any of the other stuff. I do not blame her for wanting to go. I would have too. Why would you want to stay in a foreign country when the press clearly have it in for you and the RF do not seem to have your back? The Oprah interview was misguided, definitely, and did not help their cause, but why shouldnt she want to tell her side of things? Yet when she does, people decide its lies based on nothing at all apart from their own mind because it fits the narrative they want to have of her.

She literally cant win.

And those saying she insulted the RF etc etc, I am genuinely amazed that people seem to think the RF are beyond reproach, and that they couldnt possibly have said or done anything she said, because, you know, they are royal, like that makes them paragons of truth and decency.

PreparationPreparationPrep · 12/09/2022 17:10

The problem I have with this is that as a dislike of MM is seen as solely being put down to racism, then racism loses it's real meaning doesn't it. That's why examples are asked for because people are very sceptical now..

But the same sceptics are happy to quote sexism or even classism when referring to K and M compared to male members of the RF - and those cases which are not as many but still a significant number - no one will
Ask for evidence or examples - it is just accepted.

Nevermind91 · 12/09/2022 17:11

What has she actually done wrong that has stirred up so much bile and hatred?
She has been picked on by the filthy press, provided by the likes of Piers Morgan and subscribed to by countless baying hordes. She left the country with her husband and went somewhere where the likelihood of having her every move dissected is almost nil.
Her husband's mother was hounded to get death by the press- no wonder they want to raise a family elsewhere.
Mourning the Queen is all well and good, but we have no right to a piece of them at all. And it is no business of ours to guess whether or not everything is rosy with the extended family.

When people start pulling the 'racist' card they have lost the argument.

I don't care if MM is pink, white, blue, black, brown or yellow, or all of them with spots on. And I doubt many people in the UK do either.

This is not about the fact she has pale brown skin.

I do care that she tells lies, sells her soul to US TV, and knows full bloody well that the RF are not going to go public to defend themselves, and say she is an out and out liar. It's bullying behaviour.

She left the UK for 'privacy' yet all she does it stir the pot and seek attention. For money and 'fame'.

Horrible behaviour.

Wow!!! 'pulling the 'racist' card. Jesus wept!!

Then she would rightly have blanked you.

They have a fluffy article about him getting the corgis and one about him being heckled today.

Really... I imagine it was approved by King Charles, who referred in his first address to the nation, of his love for Harry and Meghan.

Meghan’s no stranger to rudeness so I wouldn’t feel too sorry for her.
