Meghan's long-awaited podcast has launched. Sorry if there's a thread about this already. Has anyone listened to it yet? Thoughts?

What probably tipped the balance for me was when she said on Oprah that she had married 3 days before the royal wedding (which was a lie). I don't know why she didn't choose to check that and some other facts in advance or not say it if she were not sure. I was a MM fan before that actually! I also liked her in Suits.

She had a private blessing.

I have no opinion on either H or M as people (never met them) but the image they portray is really quite awful. They're putting themselves in the public eye so can expect people to form an opinion on their public persona.

So when they are described as self centred, out of touch etc, yes their public image is that.

Did the Archbishop of Canterbury know that ??

And if it was a blessing, why did she say, "Three days before our wedding, we got married?"

Yes, know but she did not get married. She lied or was too lazy to check English marriage law.

"Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have clarified that they didn't officially marry three days before their royal wedding, despite claiming they did in their interview with Oprah Winfrey.

In a new statement, the couple confirmed they exchanged unofficial, personal vows before their huge celebration in May 2018.

Speaking during the interview, Meghan said: "You know, three days before our wedding, we got married - no-one knows that.

"Just the two of us in our backyard with the Archbishop of Canterbury.

"We called the Archbishop and we just said, 'Look, this thing, this spectacle is for the world but we want our union between us'."
"So, like, the vows that we have framed in our room are just the two of us in our backyard with the Archbishop of Canterbury."

Harry also spoke about the secret 'wedding' later in the interview.

However the claim resulted in many questions from religious and legal experts, including the man who drew up their official wedding licence.

Stephen Borton, the ex-chief clerk at the Faculty Office of the Archbishop of Canterbury, said: “I’m sorry, but Meghan is obviously confused and clearly misinformed.
“They did not marry three days earlier in front of the Archbishop of Canterbury.

“The Special Licence I helped draw up enabled them to marry at St George’s Chapel in Windsor and what happened there on 19 May 2018 and was seen by millions around the world was the official wedding as recognised by the Church of England and the law."

Mr Borton was also reported to have said they could not have got married on the grounds of Nottingham Cottage as it isn't an authorised venue and three people isn't enough witnesses for a valid ceremony.

Copies of Meghan and Harry's wedding certificate also confirmed that they were legally wed at their public ceremony at St George's Chapel in Windsor.
A spokesperson for the couple has since confirmed what actually happened, saying they "privately exchanged personal vows a few days before their official/legal wedding on May 19". "

It honestly is like Groundhog Day on here... we're back to the wedding vows!

Agreed. I do not understand how anyone can care enough about this stuff to get so outraged years later.
They clearly had a blessing. Who cares if she called it a wedding.
Meanwhile alleged financial, environmental, and rape scandals get quickly forgotten.
I do wonder if people are just not bright enough to understand the real issues? Or do they just not care about a teenage girl being raped, money being accepted for honours, or rare birds of prey being shot? Are these just not important enough to people?

Gosh, does it matter? I find all this outrage a bit odd. I mean, in her mind she was married during her unofficial vows. And same about housing unit, in my mind it means a self contained apartment within a bigger residence (a bit like a gite).
There are lots of irritating and some quite astounding things about members of the RF. this “gotcha” stuff is so inconsequential.
I do think MM hasn’t overcome her trauma of her time here and hopefully over the years it will feel less raw and she can gain peace and perspective over it.

But it's been done to death! Over years! There's no new developments on it, why do we have to hash it out all over again. It's just a stick to keep beating her with on and on and on... into eternity

Do we talk about it in 10 years time, in 20 years time? If suddenly M or H said something new on it, I understand, but nooooo.... it's just regurgitating stuff endlessly

Bright enough to worry about all the above thanks plus comment on the contents of a podcast that is no.1 on Spotify afterall! It surely warrants scrutiny as a pp said.

Its like Uncle Bob bringing up that slightly joky remark he misinterpreted ten years later at every single family gathering.
