I’m not a big fan but it seems odd all the terrible pictures focusIng on Harry’s
1/ bald patch
2/ butt
and now horror of all horrors
3/ moobs !
im sure we all can have ghastly photos but nothing like this was released when he was in the royal family

Yes I think she looks far better in casual clothes. She looked great in ripped jeans and a shirt. Not sure why she feels she needs all this expensive designer gear now .

I agree with the above re the too-long trousers - Victoria Beckham regularly wears them the same way and I don't understand it. It looks genuinely terrible, like they're the wrong size and need to be taken up.

I've also noticed quite a bit that Meghan's clothes seem to constantly look creased. It's not a problem with the style of clothes, but I think maybe the fabric doesn't stand up to a whole day of public duty where she's sitting for extended periods. Maybe linen mix? That's a bastard for creasing.

I also agree with PP that Meghan looks her best in casual clothing. The relaxed California-type look really suits her.

I'm not Meghan-bashing. She's clearly a very attractive woman. But just for someone who's often held up as a style guru, some of her choices seem a bit off.

Harry's style is unmistakably Windsor-esque and I don't see any of that changing since he's moved to the US.

The thing I thought most odd was that he had another man putting his sun cream on for him. Not many men would put cream on another man's back.

I don't like them either; makes people look like the Channel 4 giant from the waist down.

I wonder if it's a bit like the puddled curtains that used to be popular, where they were cut far too long and the folds were arranged spilling onto the carpet.
A couple we knew had them and spent a long time telling us how the material had been carefully sourced in Fairyland and woven by specially trained fabric monks by light cast by blessed, virgin glow worms or something. Umm... I'm beginning to think that I may not have taken in the exact details...
Anyway, I couldn't see the point unless it was to demonstrate they could spend money on unnecessary stuff for a particular look. Even if, to me, it was a silly look.
Perhaps the idea behind these trousers is the same sort of thing.

I understand that it was originally attributed to the US stylist Rachel Zoe (who wears the look herself). It is basically supposed to create an optical illusion to make an average height woman (in killer heels) look several inches taller especially in photos. I have never seen it done successfully (Zoe just about manages it as she wears platforms all the time). I dread to think what their dry cleaning bills are like!

BBC just said the Queen isn't attending the state opening of parliament tomorrow. She must be unwell, not like her to miss big events. Maybe saving her strength for next month.

Madonna does the same thing with the trousers trailing on the ground. It’s awful.

....or maybe she just can't face it and thinks it is good experience for Charles, and will please the people who attack her for not having abdicated years ago. I must admit that I haven't checked to see if C is going in her stead. Will it be on the telly?

@Soffit @LaMarschallin - oh that's very interesting! I didn't know the reason for it, just that I've seen a few celebrities rocking this look with the overlong trousers and without exception it's ruined their whole outfit in my opinion.

I can't see how it makes them look taller. If anything it makes them look shorter because it gives the impression that their trousers are too long for them and need taking up haha!

I think that it just reminds me too much of when I was younger and all the young girls on our local estate used to wear oversized tracksuit bottoms that trailed on the ground and got filthy. The bottom of the tracksuit bottoms were inevitably dirty and a bit ripped.

I think it subconsciously makes me think of that. But the overlong curtains pooling on the floor is a great reference too! I can completely see that. Either way it's not a flatter comparison.

I find myself watching their feet willing them not to trip over the trousers which are draping all over the dirty floor. I think this must be a sign that I'm getting old. I'm looking at fashion trends and just not getting them at all 😅🤦🏻‍♀️

I think the crown being there is a big thing, she stopped wearing it as it was too heavy but they made a point about it being carried in at the time so I assume that is important. Although there is more than one crown, wonder if it is a specific one. Honestly I realise I know very little about all this.

I think Charles has probably had plenty of experience of big events, he's been doing it all his life. She so keen on her duty that I think there must be a reason she isn't doing it. Not sure if she's missed it before, must have a google.

It is the Imperial State Crown, not sure if it will be there with Charles.
