So Thomas has announcement on GB news just now, they are going to pay to help bring him to the UK for the queen's jubilee and would love to meet Charles and Harry / Megan if they turn up, should be intesting. He would dearly love to meet anyone from the royal family as he feels they have much to discuss. I hope it goes well for him.

Are there no levels to which TM and his awful daughter Samantha won’t stoop?
GM ought not to be reporting on this at all.

I'm no fan of Harry or Meghan but I agree wholeheartedly with this.

Meghan will be spitting feathers, he will be there and she won't! Classic!

I don't think she'll care really.

SalsaLove · 27/04/2022 09:51

How embarrassing. He makes a spectacle of himself. I guess he needs the money.

Swayingpalmtrees · 27/04/2022 09:52

I think Meghan cares very much, her Netflix ratings and by extension her lifestyle depend on her connections to the RF

Swayingpalmtrees · 27/04/2022 09:55

Wouldn't it be such an embracing and kind gesture to invite Thomas onto the balcony as he is family after all, and show the world how gracefully welcoming the royal family truly are - and the British public would LOVE to see him there!! What a fabulous surprise!

Viviennemary · 27/04/2022 09:57

I would love to see Thomas on the balcony. He has been so wronged by those two.

Shes not going to be spitting feathers though. Just oh..he's being annoying again.

He isn’t part of the royal family, why would they invite anyone up there? The Middleton family doesn’t get invited to stand up there

Absolutely agree. And if it stops the Harry/Megan roadshow from turning up,
Win Win !

WhereIsMyBrain · 27/04/2022 10:00

He won't get within a mile of the royals and will just be a bitter old man sitting in the GB News studio, should fit in nicely.

Swayingpalmtrees · 27/04/2022 10:00

I think it would be a mark of respect to invite him, he is adored here in the UK as we all felt and still feel so sorry for him, he has been treated abysmally.

The Queen can have whoever she likes, and what a generous and kind thing to do to invite him to the festivities and Meghan's mother too if she is here.

Swayingpalmtrees · 27/04/2022 10:01

I have to applaud that he made the announcement now - and I am pleased we are not wasting tax payer funds on royal aides that can not 'manage' the Sussex problem, it has been fixed by the grace of god, and Thomas is most certainly welcome here with open arms and Dora of course.

Is he? Most people I know are indifferent to him I'd say. But yes hope he has a nice time like any tourist.

WhereIsMyBrain · 27/04/2022 10:05

I don't think the majority of Brits would recognise Thomas Markle if he stood up in their soup.

Swayingpalmtrees · 27/04/2022 10:14

Thomas is not a tourist though, he is by marriage now related to the royal family and I hope he is given the opportunity to meet them all and enjoy the party!
I can assure you everyone knows Thomas Markle, he was on the front page of our newspapers for years! And pops up regularly. A bit of a household name now.

Adored? Really? Who by? I do not feel sorry for him, I doubt I am alone in feeling that way. Hmm

beguilingeyes · 27/04/2022 10:24

I'm in the UK and I think he's a horrible man who needs to butt out.

The fact that he's doing this through the pond life at GB News tells me all i need to know about this publicity stunt.

user1471504747 · 27/04/2022 10:28

The amount of vitriol posters on here have for MM is genuinely baffling.

the man is a controlling weirdo who I’m not sure is all there. He’ll do anything for another 5 seconds of spotlight. Shame on him and GB News. Hopefully the fact he’s being sponsored to come over by a random news outlet with little standing or respect means the RF plan to ignore him and he isn’t able to get in the way of their celebrations.

emuloc · 27/04/2022 10:29

He is a sad man. He has no shame.

MsMarch · 27/04/2022 10:30

I think I'm creating a new group of people with whom I can tell instantly we will not be friends for life - those who think Thomas Markle needs any sort of "respect" or that he has been treated "badly".

It's useful for me to have these little signals.

Swayingpalmtrees · 27/04/2022 10:33

I find it most unkind that people can talk about an elderly and ill man like this. He has done absolutely nothing wrong beyond being tricked into a stupid photo shoot. The poor guy has had at least one heart attack and has held an olive branch to his daughter for years. I can't think why he shouldn't be at the Jubilee, it is long overdue that he is invited here to meet his extended family.

I find the nastiness on here towards him baffling, he has done nothing wrong and did not choose to be catapulted onto the global stage, he is a frail old man trying to live his life.

Oh come on. This must be a wind up, surely?

Let's see, my first hint that he was unlikely to be someone I'd consider a "good" father was when he said in an interview that he told Harry that "as long as you don't hit her" he was fine with them marrying. Pretty low bar there then.

Then of course, he let her down, generally behaved like a crazy person and in all his interviews and media appearance has never apologise to her for his behaviour. Instead, he has threatened to continue to drive media focus and hatried for her (I think he even said he'd do an interview a month, basically slagging her off, until she agreed to see him?).

Also, makes me laugh that you think a random man who hasn't seen his daughter in years would be invited to the balcony for the jubilee. hahahahahaha. The middletons have a certain prominence but that's because Kate and William are clearly so close to them. But they're still not up there sitting alongside the queen at official state functions.

Swayingpalmtrees · 27/04/2022 10:50

No definitely not a wind up and I wish the elderly man well, and hope he has a wonderful time here, he has chosen a magical time to visit, and I am sure he will be made extremely welcome.

Swayingpalmtrees · 27/04/2022 10:53

I think he is definitely coming, it is being widely reported everywhere. He is looking forward to meeting Archie and Lilibet 😍 How lovely for them all to be reunited here. I am sure they will enjoy meeting their lovely grandpa.
