So… who or what do you think Harry is well protecting the Queen from?

Nessie?
A cannibal unicorn?
A secret alien society?

I also would like to know what kind of skills do the right people he is ensuring she has around her have.

link to the BBC because this is a serious business.

GC mostly nails it there, but just can’t help having a pop at Meghan. Predictable

Nothing new there, AnyFucker; for whatever reason some seem incapable of not dragging her into everything

I'll criticise what she says and does myself if it seems appropriate, but this speech was Harry's so I really don't see the need for it - and before anyone claims it was her idea, he's presumably capable of saying no

LetitiaLeghorn · 25/04/2022 22:09

All those staff members giving her 'advise'.
Harry must know better, he was there, possibly other family members know this, and can't say anything about it. Only Harry can say it. The others would not dare say a thing,

😂😂😂😂
Seriously? You think Princess Anne doesn't dare to say what she thinks?

He went to see the Queen just so he could sell another piece of her on telly. Simples.

I suspect he just means she’s lost her husband and he wants to know someone is looking out for her in the way Prince Philip would’ve.

Cant possibly be that - he lives a continent away and has seen her only twice briefly in two years. He's in no position to look out for her, as he's not there day to day, like the Queen's own DC and other DGC are. And yes, can't imagine Princess Anne holding back one whit!

StartupRepair · 26/04/2022 00:36

What exactly would Harry do if in his 15 minute visit he decided that HM had the wrong people around her? Who would he speak to about this? Who would listen? He has thrown away any chance of being listened to, let alone respected.

You just know you are dealing with a despicable twat when they take a pop at a baby !

I read that to mean Lilibet the Queen not Lilibet the baby - but I could be wrong.

darlingdodo · 25/04/2022 18:48

notanotheroneagain, in the context of the thread I think SiSiRose is referring to HMQ, who, of course, has been known as Lilibet to those closest to her for 90 odd years rather than Harry and Meghan's daughter.

Sorry, somehow missed that you had already said this!

Acheyknees · 26/04/2022 09:26

Was his comment a dig about his case against the Home Office about the lack of police protection when he visits the UK?
Whatever it means, I think he's going to regret hugely the damage he's done to HMQ in her final years.
I think PC And PW are annoyed by PH taking all the headlines away from HMQ's platinum jubilee. For all his Talk of service and making the world a better place, the press are only interested in gossip and soundbites. He talks about suffering burnout but how does he fill his day? Nothing substantial as far as I can see.
His family is alienated from MMs family and now he's alienated himself from his.
I doubt the Queen feels the need to take advice from him.

Doubt it - the current official protection is that each trip will be risk assessed individually, and that is what is happening. There's no blanket 'no', he is seeking a blanket 'yes' and from what has been said about potential provision for Jubilee events is entirely in line with the existing official policy

LetitiaLeghorn · 26/04/2022 16:30

Restrictions have been lifted for ages and he could have come and seen his grandmother at any time if was concerned. But he doesn't come until he has a TV interview arranged because he knows his worth is dependant on his relationship to the queen. Therefore he has to have some royal tales to tell and sell. He's as grimy as the journalists he constantly berates.

garlicandsapphires · 26/04/2022 18:12

@LetitiaLeghorn or he visited because he was en route to the Netherlands? Makes sense to me.

LetitiaLeghorn · 26/04/2022 19:51

Nah. If you're that worried about your granny not being protected, you fly home to check. He didn't so he wasn't that concerned. Only got concerned when he was booked for a TV show. New book title: 101 ways to trade off your grandmother.

BornBlonde · 27/04/2022 01:15

Clearly he cake to name drop the visit to her in the book..... possibly even make sure he stays in the will

Aquafizzle · 02/05/2022 23:47

It was a stupid comment from a stupid man.

Why does it have to be one or the other, why not both Harry and Andrew doing harm to the Queen? As this is a thread about Harry, that's what most people will say.

Gilmorehill · 05/05/2022 22:25

Harry is not very bright and Andrew is shockingly shameless.

I would agree that the stop over en route to the Invictus Games followed by a Netflix film team seemed very convenient.

I hope M & H are very much in love and happy. But - and I am specifically not talking about whether the Monarchy should be abolished here - that is a separate point - Harry has a platform because he is the Queen's grandson & Meghan has one because she is his wife. In the same way - he is not directly in line for the throne so he didn't roll the best dice there ( I joke - not his fault - it is the way it works ) I just think that in another universe they could have had a lovely life in Frogmore cottage , helping their charities and causes & bringing up their children in a lovely safe space. But clearly not enough for them.

What grates with me is using the connection to the RF whilst not really doing anything for them. & the half truths and rumours they spout in interviews. I quite liked Harry and I do think he used his position well to set up the Invictus games but to suggest e g his son was not called a prince because of mixed race - well - do not say that on television Harry - surely you must know that was not true.

Ach well - It is interesting ( to me only ) my son who likes the Queen ( historian he ) says he can't give a flying damn about those two ( he is 25 for reference )
