Loving the fact that it's killing the Mail they didn't get a scoop.

Nice low key private visit to see HM and Prince Charles.

Well played.

@cabansunset

H&M haven't behaved well, giving tell-all interviews (being untruthful about Archie's entitlement to a title etc.) writing tell-all books, falling out with almost their entire families, making it so public and nasty.

Blaming racism for the public's opinion on them seems to absolve them if any wrong doing, I don't like the way either of them behave, I really wanted to love her, she makes him so happy and he really deserved that, I don't like the way they behave and it genuinely has nothing to do with race.

Holding everyone to the same standards and judging them by their actions and how they treat people is not racism.

Yes but you’ll never make some people see that. If it turned out Meghan had done something really appalling it would be absolutely fine. Because otherwise you’re a racist. I think the way both of them have behaved is inexcusable. If it’s true that the Queen had to force Harry to see his father for fifteen minutes, that speaks volumes. The IG is a fantastic initiative. It’s something Harry should be very proud of. However he started it before the Grand Exit, and since then he’s done nothing but whinge . The fact that they’ve brought a Netflix team with them is not primarily to promote the Games but to promote themselves. If the IG benefit from it, that’s fantastic, but their primary motive is to make money and promote their own image.

The way Harry is treating his family says so much about his true nature. He’s massively entitled and spoilt.

Roussette · 17/04/2022 06:53

It would be better if they could all sort it out in privacy
Rather tricky when you've got the likes of the Fail begging the public for pictures so they can add to their endless vitriolic coverage of them making stuff up if they don't have a story. And some readers lapping it up and actually believing it!

Well said @candlesandpitchforks

@PatricksRum long time no see 😊. Yes I agree, we can see it and it's same old posters, even those with different names

Great opening speech by Harry

EdithWeston · 17/04/2022 06:58

Well, what they say to each other is private.

Or rather only leaked in general terms on OW and now shown in court to be briefed to those writing books.

'Recollections may vary'

I don't think anyone is going to be exactly trusting of anyone else, and that precludes close relationships. They all know good manners though, so no doubt will be civil when together

SueSaid · 17/04/2022 07:28

@GirlsTalk250

The Queen has shown true forgiveness and grace in seeing them after THAT interview. I hope it will help to heal the family rift.
Yes she really does seem able to turn the other cheek and rise above all the shite.

I'm not sure about the IG tbh. Great cause obviously but H only launched it as he was a royal and had been to Afghanistan and perhaps the Queen thought it'd give him something to do, I think he should step aside and let someone else take the reins now, there isn't a suitable royal rather a veteran who has life changing injuries and can demonstrate how one faces life's challenges head on. Why didn't he just support the Warrior Games in the first place the US version which I believe gave him the idea?

You get the uncomfortable feeling H is using it for his own profile rather than the injured vets.

Billandben444 · 17/04/2022 07:52

@PatricksRum
Ah. The racism is out in force on here.
Could you give examples please as I thought this thread was moving along without any.

So Harry should give up Invictus now should he?
You'd be the first one on here Janiie saying how awful he couldn't stick at it, I can just see the posts now from you and others
Why should he? They like him, he likes them, bit he should ditch it and walk away...rightio

.

My suspicion is ..it's successful and you and others just can't stand that. It's difficult to spin the criticism about the Invictus Games when there is none

Roussette · 17/04/2022 08:15

It’s more notable that H&M don’t publicly criticise him. There was nothing critical about him in the Oprah interview. Nothing he has done has personally affected them, I suppose

You think they should be talking about Andrew? ShockShockShock
Or am I reading your post wrong?

They are very very sensible to make NO comment about him

"It's difficult to spin the criticism about the Invictus Games when there is none"

In relation to Harry. Not Invictus on its own. Nobody could criticise the Games

In the back of my mind, I remember reading that H didn't invent the games, it was already running in the US under another name. Is that right?

Roussette · 17/04/2022 08:35

ChiefInspect. Well done them for complete silence on him.

mpsw · 17/04/2022 08:39

I don't.

Prince Harry always used to do more for injured personel than was made public - not just in support for relevant charities and their events (profile and fundraising), but also in private visits.

Mookie81 · 17/04/2022 08:39

@friendlycat

Forgot to add that whoa I think Idris Elba is one sexy man!
'I'm not racist, I fancy a black man!' Ridiculous.
100problems · 17/04/2022 08:39

An event like IG needs the oxygen of publicity, like all big events, to draw corporate sponsorship and public interest toward, what I think we can all agree, is a amazing cause. Would there have been the same hoo ha if a BBC team had been asked to film it? Doubt it.

I don't see why H should stand aside; unless IG and the competitors demand it and, annoying to the Fail and other detractors as it may be, they really don't seem to do they?

Perhaps HMQ had the right idea. Find a way to forgive and move on.

Also, I have to add, that holding up a crush on Idris is the thinnest and lamest example of why one isn't a racist.

Yes the Warrior Games. I didn't think we needed our own very special Harry version did we?

He could've obviously endorsed and supported the Warrior Games but this just all seems rather self indulgent. Still as long as Netflix finally have some footage of something.

AnastasiaRomanov · 17/04/2022 08:44

I’m wondering now why any comment
about the recent debacle at the Oscars was seen as ‘racist’?

AnastasiaRomanov · 17/04/2022 08:45

Wasn’t seen

SueSaid · 17/04/2022 08:46

'Perhaps HMQ had the right idea. Find a way to forgive and move on.'

Yes let's hope he has! if not forgive rather accept his own shortcomings and move on. We'll see in Aug or whenever when Finding Freedom The Revenge part 2 is released.

100problems · 17/04/2022 08:54

@JaniieJones I'm beginning to think you are my DM. In the 70's she couldn't say ITV without a little sniff and considered it common. Your posts about Netflix are so similar it's making me smile.

It's a pretty amazing thing to set up an event like IG, if I'd done it I wouldn't "step away" either. It's not a toy to pick up and put down, and those actually involved whatever you, who has nothing to do with it, thinks clearly want H there.

As to the Warrior Games, given the conniptions participation in Halloween gets, just imagine the bosom hoiking over getting onboard with an American event.

OP posts:
100problems · 17/04/2022 08:57

I think the best thing to do with Finding Freedom is leave it unbought.

What would HMQ do?

WWHMQD?

Invictus is probably the only thing Harry has left that he can be proud of. I hope he carries on with it. It’s doing a lot of good. It just shouldn’t be a vehicle for the couple themselves. The focus should be on the people it’s designed to help.

PAFMO · 17/04/2022 09:00

It takes a special kind of person to find something vile to say about someone raising awareness about the disabled.

Still. No surprises when you see who's doing it.
