Last thread closed so I thought I'd amalagamate the latest antics for further discussion.

Also wanted to reply to this post near the end:

Perhaps the opportunity to contribute via cleaning jobs will soon arise for them, perhaps even faster than Andrew imagines, if he is up to knowing how to turn on a vacuum that is

He allegedly sent for a maid to climb four sets of stairs to close his curtains. I think he'd struggle with a vacuum Grin

Off to read up on the entirely unsurprising reports on links to the fraudster.

My theory is that all her life HM has looked up to a man. First her father, then her husband. Now she’s a widow, she looks up to Andrew. She needs him to be her strength and stay now so turns a blind eye to all his shenanigans, much like his feckless ex wife. Apparently Andrew sees her every day. He’s become a stand in for his father.

Vapeyvapevape · 03/04/2022 20:51

As ninth in line to the throne, and the fourth-most senior adult in the line of succession, Andrew will remain as a counsellor of state, able to undertake official duties if the sovereign is temporarily incapacitated through illness or abroad

With her maj getting frailer this could be a possibility.

Quincunx · 03/04/2022 21:05

I think you're partly right, Anastasia, but she and her husband both turned many blind eyes when they were not frail and could have set him straight, had they wanted to.

AnastasiaRomanov · 03/04/2022 21:06

Yes, very true. I think she also turned a blind eye to some of Philips shenanigans. Turning a blind eye is an institutional hazard it seems.

Vapeyvapevape · 03/04/2022 21:15

I'm actually surprised Philip didn't have something to say to him when he was alive, I wonder why?

AnastasiaRomanov · 03/04/2022 21:49

Philip wasn’t exactly pure as the driven snow either. I think he thought ‘best leave well alone’. Maybe he didn’t know the extent of Andrews dodgy dealings and questionable tastes.

Vapeyvapevape · 03/04/2022 22:00

I think they all have skeletons in the cupboard so need to keep schtum in case it all comes out.

Roussette · 03/04/2022 22:07

I agree Anastasia about the looking up to a man... unfortunately now Andrew.

It will all change

The Queen is meant to be very good at being an ostrich with anything she doesn’t want to confront or deal with
Vapeyvapevape · 03/04/2022 23:11

She probably thinks stripping him of his titles should be enough to shut us up .

But she hasn’t done that.
Blossomtoes · 04/04/2022 00:05

She has. All his military stuff has gone, his HRH has gone, his patronages have gone - what’s left?

JustLyra · 04/04/2022 01:56

The counsellors of state pretty much have to work in pairs. It’s part of the safeguard of it.

So even if Andrew is needed, which is unlikely as they’re used pretty sparingly, he’ll be alongside another that outranks him every time as he’s the lowest ranking one of the four.

He doesn’t believe his HRH is fine or he wouldn’t have posted using it on Instagram
AnastasiaRomanov · 04/04/2022 08:13

Gone

LittleBearPad · 04/04/2022 08:32

His Dukedom for one.

AnastasiaRomanov · 04/04/2022 08:34

The Queen is not going to change now. It will be up to Charles to sort his brother out. Unfortunately I don’t think Charles has the strength of character to do it.

Vapeyvapevape · 04/04/2022 08:48

I think there has to be an act of parliament to remove his dukedom

LittleBearPad · 04/04/2022 09:01

Well he can easily be told not to use it.

JustLyra · 04/04/2022 09:01

It does.

And the royals are never going to push for that as they don’t want to remind parliament and the public that that can be done.

Roussette · 04/04/2022 09:09

Just picked this up from Telegraph which is paywalled but I got it elsewhere.

In a statement on Friday evening, Princess Eugenie said: “On 31 March 2022 I received a letter from solicitors Peters & Peters representing their client Nebahat Evyap Isbilen in her claim against a Mr Selman Turk, and various companies. I know neither Mrs Isbilen nor Mr Turk (nor any other details of the claim) and I was surprised to receive this letter, which asked me to explain two payments made to my bank account in October 2019, which I understood to be gifts from a long-standing family friend to assist with the cost of a surprise party for my mother, Sarah, Duchess of York’s sixtieth birthday.

“In early October 2019 I had received a call from our family friend saying that he wanted to make a financial contribution towards my mother’s birthday party to assist with the catering costs. I suggested that any contribution could be made directly to the caterers, but in the event provided my account details to which two payments were made totalling £25,000, which I then transferred on to the company organising my mother’s party. I am now consulting with my lawyers who I have asked to respond to Peters & Peters on my behalf to assist in their inquiries.”

One has to presume the 'family friend' is the Libyan gun runner Kaituni. Why on earth would he pay £25,000 for Eugenie's mother's birthday party? If Eugenie wanted the money to go to the caterers, why then did she provide her bank details?

this is all very weird.

Vapeyvapevape · 04/04/2022 09:13

Very weird and suspicious- I think she's fibbing- why indeed provide your bank details if you have no intention of receiving the money?
And I don't believe for one minute this friend wanted to contribute to the cost of catering.
She's not as innocent in all this as I thought.

Candleabra · 04/04/2022 09:19

That is a classic over explanation of someone tying themselves in knots because they’re lying.
Family friend indeed.

I also hate the way they constantly put their titles in everywhere. Why refer to Sarah, Duchess of York. Why not just my mother.
Andrew did it all the time in the Emily maitlis interview - “The Duchess” it’s just designed to show they’re better than us.

garlicandsapphires · 04/04/2022 09:30

It’s a shame that the daughters are now tainted by this but the whole York family are coming across as utterly corrupt.
