Prince Harry not attending Philips memorial

It has been confirmed that Prince Harry will not be attending P Philips memorial service. What are people’s thoughts about this? Is the whole security issue a smoke screen for the fact he can’t face his family?

Your statements make no sense. It's Harry who says he is not coming. If he only wanted to record for Netflix, he would have come over with his own security either way.

I think he was supposed to be close to his granny so it is a shame he can't be there for her. Generally though I think it would have been more important to visit his grandfather when he was dying than to go to funerals or memorials, well that's how I'll feel when the time comes I'd much rather they came while I could still see them.

The Queen's 4 children and her other 7 grandchildren will probably be there so she will have lots of family support so not the end of the world. I imagine he will feel sad on the day not to be part of it.

But as said earlier, he can't now do that without undermining his own legal case that It's unsafe for him to come here without constant royal level security.

And he would not have gone to take it to court when it means he cannot do this Netflix if that was the main thing.

I am sure that H’s office is contacted about lots of stuff but they don’t always issue a statement! There was no need for the statement. Yes , there have been some musings in the press about the “will he , won’t he” as there will be in the lead up to the Platinum events but all he has to do is let HM know.
To be honest there are far more important things going on than this.

I think that was actually William's party at the time.. All v off colour now, looking back. And absolutely to overprivileged.

Royal fanfare is done on royal engagement, which Harry does not do. So when do you think he will get this fanfare?

Last time he was in the UK his car was chased by paparazzi. His mum died due to her car being chased by paparazzi. Security sounds like a valid concern to me.

Here's an idea. Don't take part in a 'chase'. Drive safely and below the speed limit. Call the police if any drivers around you are doing anything unsafe.

Surely the idea of having their picture taken wasn't such a terrifying prospect given that they court publicity themselves.

Same as his mother: If the driver had been sober, not drove like an idiot, and she'd been wearing a seat belt, she'd still be alive.

Also, you do know that there's paparazzi in LA? Probably more than here in fact.

What has William done that they are diverting from? I only seem to be hearing Ukraine on the news so no idea what it is about.

Yes, but no one really knows what Harry is referring to. I suspect the media are saying paparazzi to try and trivialise the danger.
In court, Harry's lawyer gave a confidential testimony. She said the court would understand who is on RAVEC and why they prevented Harry from getting security.

Even the colour of the skin thing him and Meghan couldn’t decide among themselves what was said, I think they should have said who it was or said nothing.

I also don’t get the saint William thing either, I’ve never got that vibe, but I suppose it depends what media you follow/maybe it’s a bit if confirmation bias.

Most media I see seems very sympathetic to Harry and Meghan and quite scathing of all the family, tarring them all as racists.

Really? I don't think so. They release statements when they want, which is of course their choice. I can't see any evidence that they release statements every time a question is repeatedly asked. Where is the official statement denying that they wanted to move house, for example?

I think he’d look a bit daft if he turned his now, having made a big deal of the security issue. He’d undermine his own point- which obviously won’t happen.
