Prince Harry not attending Philips memorial

It has been confirmed that Prince Harry will not be attending P Philips memorial service. What are people’s thoughts about this? Is the whole security issue a smoke screen for the fact he can’t face his family?

Also, please do expand on what is the household vs family.

The “household” is usually given to mean those who work for the Royal Family. By alluding to the Family, you seemed to be implying that Harry thinks one of his actual relatives had an agenda against him. If I misunderstand, I apologise.

Tezza1 · 14/03/2022 01:59

@notanotheroneagain household vs family Don't be disingenuous. The difference is bleeding obvious.

Skiptheheartsandflowers · 14/03/2022 02:11

Didn't know they had now given again to the Ukraine-based work of World Central Kitchen. I know they did for other projects last year. Is there a link?

notanotheroneagain · 14/03/2022 07:16

By the look of these threads, it seems posters cannot differentiate the household, institution and family. Parroting "they disrespected the family" etc.

Family members were criticised 3 times in the interview. The family member who showed concern for Archie's skin tone, the one who told Meghan to be less and stay at home and Charles ofcourse.

On here, this is seen as them 'despising' the family.

I would gather that making up the institution, there is more household that family, in terms of numbers.

The criticism was on the institution and how they run things. For a lot of people what the interview demonstrated was that a certain culture at the institution, hence why some members are acting the way they do.

notanotheroneagain · 14/03/2022 07:17

*than family.

Because it's a monarchy, the monarch IS the institution... the idea you can criticise the institution but not the Queen herself is ridiculous. She is running the show. Harry tried to get around this by blaming all of her staff which was a low blow as a) they can't defend themselves, b) they have nowhere near the money, status, privilege or platform he does, and c) they are all appointed by the Queen so she is ultimately responsible anyway.
tigger2022 · 14/03/2022 07:27

Harry also did another interview where he said something along the lines of his father being terrible, but that wasn't his fault because he hadn't been raised properly either, which I thought was... wow.

notanotheroneagain · 14/03/2022 07:37

What you are saying sounds very much like a cop out, tbh.
The staff can behave anyway they want, because they can hide behind HMQ's apron. So she will be blamed in the end for everything they do. Maybe she should do a better job in keeping them in line then. Also, they do respond, all the time, via 'palace sources'. What they are learning now is that they cannot just sprout any old nonsense because Harry can now answer back. Just because Harry has more money etc. I don't see why that gives them the right to just treat him and his wife like dirt.

As for Harry with his father, he repeated EXACTLY what Charles publicly said before him. Did you say wow then ?

queenofarles · 14/03/2022 08:22

I don’t think American security personnel are allowed to carry guns in Netherlands , just like in the U.K .
No idea what his arrangement will be there.

@notanotheroneagain blimey Meghan you must be exhausted after all that defending yourself 🙊 If it’s not Meghan, whoever it is seems to be very heavily invested in defending her and her husband.
PinaColada123456 · 14/03/2022 08:42

@FlyingGeeseAgain

Because every time he does something else cringe making I wonder when he will finally shut up.
@FlyingGeeseAgain And people like me wonder when jealous knockers and whingers like you will finally shut up and leave this couple alone! Practice what you preach, and get a life.
PinaColada123456 · 14/03/2022 08:44

@Imjkrowling (ironic name you chose, given the bullying of JK and how lots of us spend lots of time defending her, so you knocking Meghan when this topic is about Harry shows you're misogynistic), you are soooo unoriginal with that comment. I suppose all us who defend JK Rowling are her, too....

@tigger2022 It was CHARLES that said that. Of course, you won't attack him though, will you? Only Harry.

Exactly !

And you can see how this poster is singling me out, when we have posters on here regularly criticising Meghan, and they have no snarky word to them.

Problem is Harry’s memory of events often doesn’t stand up to scrutiny.
CathyorClaire · 14/03/2022 09:17

For all of the last 2 yrs there have been zoom calls between H & M and their charities

You were talking about the security risk associated with in-person visits to his old charities.

Don't see how you cannot Google any of it though

I don't want to. You're the one making the claims.

notanotheroneagain · 14/03/2022 09:33

You are not making any sense.

You 'don't want to' Google which charities Harry met, but you want me to trawl the Internet giving links for you ?
You either want to know the information or you don't !

CathyorClaire · 14/03/2022 09:37

you want me to trawl the Internet giving links for you ?

Yes.

You're the one that said it, you're the one that puts the legwork into backing it up.

Normal forum practice.

notanotheroneagain · 14/03/2022 09:41

Do you ask people to link all the negative things they say about H&M. Because I have never seen you do that.

CathyorClaire · 14/03/2022 09:45

I'll take it from that non sequitur you're unable to back your comments up.

Chilledchablis1 · 14/03/2022 09:53

I am pretty sure we would have heard about all these zoom calls had they taken place ! H ( and M) exactly shy about their good works!

notanotheroneagain · 14/03/2022 09:53

Stop embarrassing yourself now, everyone here has been talking about Harry's visit to Wellchild.

He's only been to the UK twice (that we know of) and one of those times was for the funeral. He obviously wants to do more visits.

Chilledchablis1 · 14/03/2022 09:55

Oh dear . Not sure EVERYONE is talking about that visit . What has been discussed is the alleged chase by paparazzi for which there us no evidence .

notanotheroneagain · 14/03/2022 10:03

Chase from where ? Which charity?
