'Offended' is too strong a word here. My point is merely that not everyone is living in a cosy family unit. If the card is meant for the general public, it could feel to some isolated people as if they are not included in the message.

The pandemic has really exacerbated feelings of loneliness and disconnection, particularly amongst older people, and particularly at this time of year. Twice as many older people are spending Christmas alone as would be the case in a normal year.

That's the reason I think it would be nice to use more inclusive language.

Of course, if a card is being sent specifically to a family, the members of which are in a caring, close relationship with each other, then such sentiments would be fine.

People are literally combing through trying to be offended by them in some way. It’s so ridiculous. It’s a common phrase.

I like seeing celebrities with bare feet, it makes them seem more like real people with real lives. And yes, that might have been the intention, and yes they're very privileged, but that doesn't make them any less human. Long live bare feet! 👣

Agree. They also shouldn’t have said ‘from the Sussexes’ because I went to Sussex once and got in a car accident. It was very stressful and upsetting*.

Ive seen this in shops even this year it's not unusual. More so a few years ago when I used to send cards

This is why they should continue to live their life. Because there will always be supporters and haters - they can't win everyone over. I mean why would the DF of all be desperate to print a copy pic of them ?- because they know their haters will still want to see it and they can generate 💰💰

Imagine the other way round and M&H needing the DF for anything- it wouldn't happen. They loathe the Newspaper and would probable rather not see their pics in this rag.

Why can't the DF make a stand and say they won't give any more publicity to to M/H - there are plenty of other royals to make money from or is it that the rest of the royals put together don't generate the public interest or amount M&H do.

Some people try to convince themselves and others that Harry and Meghan are irrelevant. We all know that this is nonsense. Any article written about them gets thousands of clicks. Anything they say or do is reported in the British and international press. Their Christmas card and messages are scrutinised. The British media ( including Royal Reporters) are obsessed by them and are annoyed that Harry and Meghan live in America
