@Roussette

And I don't see why it even needs saying that you don't see why it even needs saying and I don't even really see why I need to say this Grin

I've had some very odd things said in some of my Christmas cards this year... I think covid has got to some people... Grin
Someone asked if I enjoyed Thailand (haven't been)
And strangest thing ever... someone asked how the dog was settling in (don't have one!)

I nominate this for "Most Garbled Post of the Year".
100problems · 24/12/2021 14:57

Super cute kids

I see they are still all California barefoot; throw on some socks dudes!

It was intentional believe it or not! I'm not on the sauce quite yet....Xmas Grin

Harry decided to do the photoshoot barefoot. How can the Daily Mail be blamed for Harry wanting photos of his feet distributed everywhere?

The Fail don't have to say or show anything. The card was sent to Team Rubicon. The fail is just chasing H&M across the pond collecting crumbs.

The people who are offended, really, I don't think H&M were talking to you. Honest.

rubicscubicle · 24/12/2021 18:34

Walking around barefoot is not some exclusive California thing.

Maybe Harry has always felt more comfortable that way.

Possibly we can all agree on this from the Sussexes ...

I dont like that photo of Diana and the boys at all. Neither of them look happy.

I agree.

That must have been the best photo 😱. Both boys look really unhappy, and the lack shoes just doesn’t work with the rest of their outfits.

BringBackThinEyebrows · 24/12/2021 18:54

@rubicscubicle

What? You said, "trust them (The Daily Mail) to show us the feet". Harry posed for the photo barefoot, intending to show the global media his feet. Exposing his feet is Harry's idea of a lovely Christmas gift to the world. How is accurately displaying a photo "collecting crumbs"?

rubicscubicle · 24/12/2021 19:00

Rushing over yourself to chase someone who lives over the pond and finding and posting their pictures to get clicks is collecting crumbs.

Perhaps @rubicscubicle thinks The Daily Mail were supposed to edit the card. If The Mail did, then there would be complaints about how the photo was edited.

Same whine; different bottle.

rubicscubicle · 24/12/2021 19:11

All other publications have shown the Happy Holidays on top instead of showing feet. That is what matters, that is not editing.

I believe the Fail or some other rag once highlighted Meghan and put here on the forefront for their Christmas card once, when in the original picture she was in background. That is editing !

BringBackThinEyebrows · 24/12/2021 19:34

@AlfonsoTheUnrepentant yeah clearly! I'm struggling to understand the outrage at the Daily Mail on this one.

@rubicscubicle every tiny detail of the photo has been planned and approved by H&M, that is what matters. From Harry's hair photoshopped to remove his bald patch, Meghan's nose photoshopped to remove the bump, to Harry's barefeet. Harry wants everyone to look at his feet, it's that simple.

rubicscubicle · 24/12/2021 19:40

ITV says following the picture release, it has been the most read story. So much for irrelevant couple.

Possibly we can all agree on this from the Sussexes ...
RoyalFamilyFan · 24/12/2021 19:42

Interesting. Media cover what people want to read. So we can expect to see more about Harry and Meghan in the British press.

Avaynia · 25/12/2021 12:49

I've seen countless parents I know say something about their first child making them parents and their second/third completing their family. I can't imagine reading a comment about someone saying what makes them feel their family is complete and thinking, "this is actually about me." Hint: it's not about you.

queenofarles · 25/12/2021 13:33

Beautiful picture, cute happy babies ,

AliceAldridge · 25/12/2021 14:39

It's a lovely photo. Meghan looks stunning, Harry looks happy, the children look loved and adorable. All good.

But the hobby/parenting/family comments are insensitive - and I have more than one child. It's their card to write what they want, but people can also think what they want. I also don't believe for a moment that it wasn't intended for global distribution!

Mrsorganmorgan · 25/12/2021 15:53

I was advised not to have more than one child, by the medical profession, because of an inherited disease that affects boys. I could easily have had a boy. Thank goodness I had a girl. She is my only one. I am an only child too. I am not in the least insulted by their remark. Nice picture of them all.

SoyMarina · 25/12/2021 16:47

I remember my sister saying after she had given birth to a baby girl, following a boy "we have the perfect family now".
Her mother in law was quick to remind her that she (being the mother of three boys) also had the perfect family.
My sis knew well what she meant and was suitably contrite.
It is insensitive!

OutwiththeOutCrowd · 25/12/2021 17:11

Another aspect.

Assuming that the card was in part for general public consumption, I think the ‘from our family to yours’ bit could have been left out. Some people don't have families or are estranged from them. Whether by choice or happenstance, some people do not perceive themselves as belonging to a cosy family unit. This won't be an unfamiliar notion to the Sussexes.

But it can't be denied - those children are very cute!

Agree. They also shouldn’t have said ‘from the Sussexes’ because I went to Sussex once and got in a car accident. It was very stressful and upsetting.

You do realise ‘from our family to yours’ is a common Christmas greeting? It’s actually printed in some cards.

SallyLockheart · 25/12/2021 19:42

Never seen from our family to yours in a Christmas card. Is that a USA thing?

Kanaloa · 25/12/2021 20:35

I don’t know if it’s an American thing. I see it plenty on and in cards right here in the UK. Actually saw it randomly on Instagram this morning which was the cast of a movie doing a Christmas video type thing.

It’s a common thing to say. I wouldn’t imagine anyone being offended that someone had said in their Christmas card ‘from our family to yours.’

SallyLockheart · 25/12/2021 21:09

Weird. Your shops must be different to mine. Christmas cards nearly always say Happy Christmas, Merry Christmas or a variation of. The shorter the better. Or do you buy those gushing cards with lines of flowery prose on the inner card? I wouldn’t even use it in a card - I name the people the card is addressed and name my family member

RoyalFamilyFan · 25/12/2021 21:14

From Our Family to Yours, or From Our House to Yours, are American phrases. Google it. There are lots of cards saying this one.
Meghan and Harry live in the US, so not surprising they use American phrases rather than UK ones.
