Interesting analysis but who could be paying for this concerted effort? It’s suggested that not only is it coordinated but the people doing it are paid to do so.

I apologise Janiie I didn't mean to be rude.

My example regarding the Middletons was they too reviewed lots of media mocking and slurs, they didn't the feel the need to go on a chat show to put the record straight did they

Was it incessant?

Was it 27 articles in the DM in a 24 hour period? (yes, this is true, this happened to MM)

Harry has nothing to do with the Middletons. H&M left and gave their reasons, and thank god they did. Fine by very many people, apart from a core of detractors.

@JaniieJones

'we won’t agree on the African interview'

Of course we won't agree. How lovely that you speak for the whole of SA. To complain about one's own problems whilst representing the Queen on an official tour was self indulgent and crass though.

Sometimes, someone needs to reminding some of you of the truth. The whole saga has been rewritten. They faced unfair criticism as many have before them. They wanted they own royal show, weren't allowed it so left.

Hehe I don’t speak for the whole of South Africa but I know having followed the press reports there at the time, speaking to family & friends there plus general feeling towards Meghan in South Africa. Not many in SA would with their history of apartheid and racial segregation would have a go at Meghan for that interview.
Samcro · 01/11/2021 14:29

where did the Middletons get racist comments? I must have missed that,

queenofarles · 01/11/2021 15:00

I think that's a pretty awful thing to say
Again Rousette you keep saying you don’t respond to me much , yet you keep commenting on anything I post Hmm,

What’s so awful in me to saying I was never influenced by celebrities promoting charities to raise their profile ?

Serenster · 01/11/2021 15:07

Meghan toed the line , she kept quite head down through all the racist press , the negative daily headlines when she was pregnant through it all she was silent

I saw that time period as being when she and Harry started to openly play power games with the media, which was one of the things that started to make me change my opinions about their behaviour. So not quite toeing the line, no.

PreparationPreparationPrep · 01/11/2021 15:09

@JaniieJones
Yes some of you seem to rewrite history in dismissing the fact that a huge part of their reason for leaving was the amount of racist abuse Meghan and Archie receive with no back up from the RF. glossing over this to say she should toe the line. Maybe if she had nowhere to go she would have stayed and out up with the abuse - personally I think that would have been more damaging to her marriage and children.

Roussette · 01/11/2021 15:10

Am I allowed to answer queenoffaries as you are asking me a question?

I am responding to this that you posted... "Is it for the charity or is it to make these celebs good ?"
not that you don't donate to charities because of a celebrity. My previous post explains it all.

queenofarles · 01/11/2021 15:37

It’s so exhausting talking to you Rousette you have a way of twisting words and contradicting yourself, 🤦🏼‍♀️
I can’t keep up.

Roussette · 01/11/2021 15:40

Sorry you feel like that. We just disagree that's all.
No contradiction, as I say my original post says my thoughts on it, they haven't changed.

rubicscubicle · 01/11/2021 16:12

@Viviennemary

Camilla does not receive negative press because she toes the line. She has never spoken out against the royals in all these years. She doesn't whine about being badly treated. She doesn't jump on every bandwagon going and lobby politicians.
Camilla does not receive negative press because the palace protects her and it's well known that a big PR campaign was launched to try and rehabilitate her. The 'invisible contract' at work.

Most people still do not like her.

And why on earth would Harry go out of his way to protect the woman who broke his own mother is beyond me.

rubicscubicle · 01/11/2021 16:22

@JaniieJones

'the negative daily headlines '

The whole rf have kept quiet about their own verbal attacks. I didn't see the Middletons running to Loose Women for a moan did you?

The Sussexes managed all of what 18mths until they started with their tone deaf African whinge.

The Middletons did not run to Loose Women because they have the luxury of not being treated in a racist way for one.

Secondly, they are deep in the media cushion, what with KM's school friend being editor of Tatler and their mums being buddies.

Don't get me started on the patronising 'Africans are too poor to care about how the queen treats people of colour and are too poor to recognise or be sympathetic towards people who suffer mentally or are going through a hard time' narrative.

So disrespectful.

smilesy · 01/11/2021 16:55

Most people still do not like her

Really? I thought many people had changed their opinion of her since she has kept her head down and championed causes such as highlighting campaigns against domestic violence. Her relationship with Charles had an inauspicious start to say the least, but they seem good together now and have been together longer than Charles and Diana were. They have moved on now. It’s all very well being judgy about relationships born out of affairs, but sometimes they turn out for the best. Diana’s marriage to Charles was unhappy with or without Camilla. Charles and Diana were flogging a dead horse for a long time. There is no point in being unhappy just to stay together.

SueSaid · 01/11/2021 16:56

'The Middletons did not run to Loose Women because they have the luxury of not being treated in a racist way'

Hmm only alleged racism counts in the supporters selective books, how very convenient.

Again, the criticism of the Sussexes has come from their petulant, pretentious behaviour. They have been scrutinised, possibly unfairly at times, as has everyone else in the rf.

SueSaid · 01/11/2021 16:59

'Really? I thought many people had changed their opinion of her since she has kept her head down and championed causes such as highlighting campaigns against domestic violence'

Yes I think her quiet work behind the scenes has won her some popularity. She seems to understand the media is best ignored. I bet she finds the Crown a load of amusing bollocks.

Most people do not like Camilla or Charles.

Camilla was one of the main reasons Charles and Diana's marriage could not last. She was forever a nagging presence which prevented PC from getting to understand, know and love Diana. She was a hinderance and most people know that. She inserted herself - hence Diana said there were three people in the marriage - I guess because things of her own husband's wondering eye. Infact, according to Diana, Camilla never left Charles to get on with his marriage. Couples in general mostly have to contend with a lot of things in a marriage as it is, Camilla was the main reason for the unhappiness.

Viviennemary · 01/11/2021 17:24

I agree Camilla has had the palace behind her to improve her image. But sounds like she has listened to advice. H&M didn't like bring told do it this way or you can't do that. So off they flounced to do it their way. Which we will have to wait for a few years to see how it pans out. The rehabilitation of Camilla didn't happen overnight.

rubicscubicle · 01/11/2021 17:26

@JaniieJones, you can repeat there was no racism like some kind of a weird mantra all you like, you cannot change facts of history - it took place.

The racism was well noticed worldwide. It was noticed enough by a group of MPs to write an open letter, so did a federation of Legal women and several people publicly criticised this racism.

The only people who did not see it are the RRs, the Royalists and the racists and media who were perpetrating it themselves.

SueSaid · 01/11/2021 17:31

'Most people do not like Camilla or Charles.Camilla was one of the main reasons Charles and Diana's marriage could not last. She was forever a nagging presence which prevented PC from getting to understand, know and love Diana'

I like her, she seems genuine and I bet she's great company. I don't mind PC either.

PC was pushed into marrying a 19yr old aristocrat. The Spencers and rest of the RF are as guilty as PC and Diana for not stopping the whole charade. Diana was a vulnerable naive woman, who tf was looking out for her?!

rubicscubicle · 01/11/2021 17:31

Camilla destroyed someone's marriage. MM sat there being black. Hardly comparable. What advise was she supposed to listen to? Keep your head down, cause it's shameful to be black? Because the vitriol started before her honeymoon and was relentless since.

smilesy · 01/11/2021 17:33

I disagree. I thought my marriage was happy but ex DH had an affair and when confronted with it, I realised I was not happy and nor was he. We have moved on and are now good friends and by many accounts, Diana was still friends with Charles after the marriage ended. It would seem fairly obvious to me that Charles and Diana’s marriage was doomed before it started. Camilla was a cause and not a symptom. If Diana was prepared to move on, why should everyone else continue to blame Camilla? It wouldn’t change what happened. I don’t think Charles had a wondering eye as you call it. He was in the wrong relationship.

smilesy · 01/11/2021 17:34

Sorry should have said “Camilla was a symptom and not a cause”. Doh 🙄

SueSaid · 01/11/2021 17:36

MM didn't 'sit' anywhere. The Sussexes had their grand plan from the start of exactly how they were going to do things, they weren't allowed and they didn't like it one little bit. Poor Haz, maybe he hasn't had anyone say no to him before.

derxa · 01/11/2021 17:36

I was a great fan of Diana but I don't think she was very easy to live with

rubicscubicle · 01/11/2021 17:38

Diana is not guilty of anything for a start. And everyone else is not as guilty as PC and Camilla.

Everyone thought Camilla was out of the picture seeing as she was married to another man. The presumption was she was in love (if you believe reports, she was indeed, except she was let down by this man, whom she had DC with). PC and Camilla would have been the final authority in knowing how they felt about each other. They deceived everyone.
