Congratulations to both. Look forward to finding out what they've named her!

@Antinerak as long as it stays outside the top 300, we’ll be happy.

Plus we’re likely to move to Australia so likely to be less popular there!

Babette Andrea

Roussette · 21/09/2021 06:38

but the mean old greysuits at the Palace lied to the public just to make H&M look bad?
As they did and do that continually, yes of course!

It will be very traditional name I'm sure, Victoria maybe.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 21/09/2021 07:10

I think the baby has come a bit early. It’s not Autumn yet and 6lbs is a little on the smaller size for a full term baby. I hope Bea is ok and doing well.

dontyouwish2 · 21/09/2021 07:45

@PurpleOkapi

Wait, people actually believe that Harry and Meghan really, really wanted to keep the public apprised of everything, and would totally have announced correct information about the labour and birth if they'd been allowed to, but the mean old greysuits at the Palace lied to the public just to make H&M look bad?
I never said they wanted to keep everyone apprised, intact they did not announce about the labour, but they did announce his birth later on Sussex Royal. This all came from the palace, so people like the ones on this thread (and the thread calling H&M namers at that time) can spout that they lied to us and gave us the run-around.

As MM said, she told the palace to jut tell the public that Archie was not part of the announcement and steps etc. since they wanted to take his title away, people will understand.

Autumn starts today - my wedding anniversary! Grin

It also depends on which definition of autumn you use. Meteorological autumn starts at the beginning of September 🤷‍♀️

What proof do you have of this ? Rather a blanket assertion

@upinaballoon

It seemed that Diana started a tradition by coming out of hospital with baby in arms, and Catherine continued it. That might have been a short-lived tradition. Technology allows a granny in Lancashire to see a baby who was born a few minutes ago in Kent. I think it's quite nice for there to be a gap of a day or two before it's announced, giving them time to take breath, before we and the press are on their backs, nagging for a picture. I think Andrew and Sarah did well in choosing the names Beatrice and Eugenie. Laura Helen
Technically Princess Anne started that tradition with photos of Peter and Zara outside the Lindo Wing when she was leaving. The press attribute that and hospital births to Diana when it wasn't new.

I think the baby will have a very traditional name and a less common nickname, similar to her step-son.

It's also interesting to see Annabel(le) on the list of names at the bookies given it was the name originally meant for Beatrice, but was (apparently) vetoed by the Queen.

Marcipex · 25/09/2021 18:18

Annabel is lovely

upinaballoon · 25/09/2021 19:50

JustLyra, thank you for putting me right on Princess Anne and the Lindo Wing. I apologise to her for that oversight.

Having said the new ones don't need us on their backs for a photo, I am thinking that we haven't seen one yet. Grin

(At the 1981 State Opening of Parliament Diana was new and pretty and noticed, but Anne looked great in the dress she wore that day, and probably wasn't noticed by many.)

niveaessential · 29/09/2021 01:16

I wonder why they haven't announced the baby's name yet.

Palavah · 29/09/2021 02:37

Given that PA is supposed to have been seen with Virginia Roberts at Annabel's nightclub I'd have thought it an unlikely name for his new granddaughter.

immersivereader · 29/09/2021 02:40

Good point, palavah

vastgrandupgrade · 29/09/2021 03:24

Annabel!

Although it could explain why they haven’t announced it Grin

(I came across someone called December recently)

The nightclub is why the Queen vetoed it for Beatrice apparently.
Roussette · 29/09/2021 10:41

It was Tramps not Annabel's!

Serenster · 01/10/2021 15:06

Sienna Elizabeth is the baby’s name. Very pretty (and totally goes with the Isla/Mia/Savannahs etc in that generation).

TroysMammy · 01/10/2021 15:41

A lovely name. I wonder if Sienna has Beatrice's hair colour for them to chose the name?
