This according to guess who. The DM of course. To avoid getting papers served says the article. Maybe he's just gone for a nice break. Accompanied by Fergie.

And some of these girls were as young as 14

I think at the last minute VG will be awarded a settlement and I hope she shouts about it from the rooftops so that PA can never be in public life again.
He's done enormous damage not only to the Monarchy but to the country, going back to when he was a Trade Envoy and abusing that position.

Serenster · 09/09/2021 15:39

Yes, I really think he needs a “Come to Jesus” moment. No matter how much he may personally believe he’s done nothing illegal here, there really is no place for him in public life any longer.

Plumtree391 · 09/09/2021 15:40

I heard or read (somewhere) that Epstein tried to get a couple of girls as young as 12! I feel ill at the thought and remember someone sniffing around me when I was twelve - even more so at 13.

Viviennemary · 09/09/2021 16:10

If there was enought proof a crime was committed then wouldn't the criminal courts be prosecuting. This is just an observation.

Revolting and disgusting. I was taken advantage of at 15, I was so immature, naive and still 50 years later blame myself.

Roussette · 09/09/2021 16:13

Enough proof a crime was committed for PA ?
Well...that will all come out in November when Maxwell goes to court

Viviennemary · 09/09/2021 16:17

I bet that Maxwell woman will do some sort of deal whoever she throws under the bus. She's as slippery as an eel IMHO.

dontyouwish2 · 09/09/2021 16:18

Technically, she could file in 3 different countries.

The NY deadline was fast approaching with Andrew saying he would co-operate, but not actually doing so - presumably stalling for the declines to come up.

There is nothing 'unfair' about dragging an accused to a different country to face the consequences of their actions - maybe they should not have dragged themselves across other countries to commit the crime in the first place. Don't care about the inconvenience to the accused, tbf.

And yes, she is getting as high a fine as possible. What else can she do. No one can take back what happened. The cost to her is priceless in mental health and all the trauma she had to experience. Quite possibly psychiatrists, medication etc. too. You hit the perpetrator where you can and it hurts most at this point - the pocket.

I hope so.

She would provide proof and that is fine by me and I'm sure a lot of people including the victims and their families. Sod off to covering for friends when they did bad things like this.

dontyouwish2 · 09/09/2021 16:23

@ArabellaStrange

If I could track down and sue any of the men who slept with me when I was 17 and working as an escort, you can be damn well sure that I would. The perverts deserve much worse, in my eyes.
If you were groomed since around 14, and they made you think there was no way out, it's extremely cruel. Even worse, seeing you hanging around the place as a teenager, what did they think was the deal. Flowers

Absolutely revolting! Flowers
Roussette · 09/09/2021 16:29

I have always had a big big problem with PA saying he thought they were just 'staff'. The girls.
Yet there is footage of him at the door of Epstein's NY mansion just after a young girl has run up the road after Epstein and run back in again.
I can honestly say, to me, she looks about 14. How can he not know anything
I bet PA has tried to eliminate that footage, to no avail, it's still out there

Stircraazy · 09/09/2021 16:31

Wild horses wouldn't drag me to an American court no matter what I'd done - too much plea bargaining etc.

she's her father's daughter, that's for sure.
ssd · 09/09/2021 16:34

@Velveteena

I don't think anything will happen in a legal sense. But I expect Andrew will continue to play a losing game in terms of public opinion. And then when Charles gets the top job he'll try and have him sidelined as much as possible. And Andrew will sulk and pout and continue to be an over-privileged lump with an obese ego until his final days. With Fergie by his side of course, hustling away.
So no change from whats happening right now then. He still lives a life if utter luxury.
Farfalle88 · 09/09/2021 17:00

@CathyorClaire

Charles would be ruthless with Andrew

Charles is going to be ruthless with a lot of them.

The notion plays well with the plebs while not affecting his own lavish lifestyle one iota.

I don't think so. Charles was pictured having a friendly walk with Andrew not long after the interview, 'showing support'. The lot of them are morally bankrupt. I wish there would be a referendum held on whether they should all be abolished. Give their properties to the National Trust, give their art to Galleries, use their money to help pay off the national debt, and let them all get proper jobs.
ssd · 09/09/2021 17:45

Why would anyone believe Charles would be ruthless. Hes all about protecting his own. They all are. Unless ruthless in this context means Andrew has a fewer less staff, a fewer less holidays, a fewer less mansions and castles to stay in.

I don't fancy American law enforcement either but isn't this particular issue a civil matter? I mean he isn't going to be on trial for anything.
stairway · 09/09/2021 18:05

Maybe it’s for the best, it would be UK taxpayers and probably the younger ones paying off any damages awarded to this woman. I don’t want a Prince Andrew levy added to my payslip.

The taxpayer always comes out paying one way or the other.

Even when Meghan did here MoS case, guess what, the DM group came to us the taxpayer with their begging bowl for cash - which we duly gave. Do you think for one moment that they should have asked their owner with his Cayman Islands tax evading account to pay? You can be sure the damages and legal fees were paid by you and me.

Though count your blessings in this case the excess amount went to a charity. But do not think for one moment that the DM paid for this and other lawsuits in any way.

dontyouwish2 · 09/09/2021 19:09

I would also like to add there that what we gave them as bailout money was not a loan.

So you can be sure that if they had won, the taxpayer would not have seen a penny.

dontyouwish2 · 09/09/2021 19:16

Oh, and while I am on here and remember, seeing as no one else has said it, can I just say :

Oh poor Queen at her age in her 90s and having just been widowed, and now her son brings this scandal to her.

QueenFreesia2021 · 09/09/2021 19:44

I would love to know what the queen has said to him in private. She must be mortified by him.

To those saying Charles will look after his own - I think a lot of family’s would. If you have someone swearing that they didn’t do anything wrong, it’s sometimes hard to see past that.

However, I thought Charles was keen on cutting back on the amount of working Royals so I suspect Andrew will not be used for many public engagements in the future.

I know “The Queen” on Netflix isn’t all based on the truth but when I watched it I couldn’t help but feel sorry for all of the drama the queen has had to deal with over the years due to her family.
