Not sure who the other woman was. But there was good chemistry.

It would be interesting to see what the 40 X 40 actually is and if it has any measurable success criteria.

I don’t think you need 1.6 million?! I mean, some of these guys can help with CV reviews, I mean, they are professional women themselves. or get their HR departments to provide practical advice?

I'm skeptical of rich, privileged people thinking a motivational pep talk is the answer to women's systemic oppression.

A better idea would be 40 friends donating $40k = $1.6m

And even if she and the 40 had done that, there would be threads on here saying...

I don’t think it is a pep talk as such, it must be tangible like using their network.

My dh has used a white boys network to get jobs. You know, he has worked with someone and they move and re omens him and so on. And it makes a difference.

I guess if I was in IT and Cheryl from Facebook could drop a word with a few of her tech contacts, that could make a difference?

Well one of them is Stacey Abrams who is a proper useful person. She's a big organiser and fundraiser in the Democratic Party, so actually she could get you some sort of a job!

Stuffing envelopes maybe, but it's better than unemployment.

It’s the height of narcissism and total lack of self-awareness. Throwing some crumbs to the downtrodden to make yourself look woke, worthy and pious. They are all full of shit I’m afraid. Multi-millionaires who seek every day to become richer and richer than you.

She is, I have a bit of a girl crush on Stacey Abrams. She gets shit done.

And it probably takes only 40 minutes to have a chat. Send a few emails connecting people and then a follow-up to see how it worked out.

Probably 10 minutes for each candidate, so 4 per celeb? And I guess the outcome measure will be how many got jobs, I presume.

I think this is a lovely and well intended initiative. Building womens networks is important, lots of incremental gains can add up to a big difference, so go Meghan!
Unfortunately the video does showcase what a brilliant actress Melissa M is and how very average Meghan is. How I don't suppose that matters to Meghan these days, she has bigger fish to fry!

Why do some people use woke like this?. Only ever seen it used like this as an insult in UK. I have family US & some us in UK who have been using this word for years before it became an insult here. Being awake to social injustice especially racism is surely a good thing no?
