There’s quite a funny (in a horrific way) tweet by Alexandria Ocado Cortez (successful democratic female politician from minority background) going “who are the Daily Mail? Someone from there has been contacting my boyfriends family offering them money to give stories about me.”

Or the great Mail “story” along the lines of “Obama actually wanted to marry a white woman” (she was actually mixed race FTR.

That everyone in the baby and child charity world have been giving an answer to - asking that surestart and other centres are reopened and given more scope.

Then you come here and tell us that a woman who has done mentoring before and works with a mentoring charity is talking a what if. Yes, MM has mentored Smartworks , who came back and made a video about how she was looking for a job for a while and received a confidence boost from MM and got the job

What on earth do you mean? I want Meghan to pledge that she will be giving up 40 minutes of her time to help someone because that is what she is asking of others because it’s supposedly important. She hasn’t done it. I’m questioning why. It’s pretty simple. If you are suggesting she’s made a mistake by being oven ready, not oven baked then perhaps she should have waited until it was ready instead of centering it on her birthday.

If that’s all you think it’s about then you really don’t know very much. Not going to bother debating it with you. I was responding at the time to numerous ‘but what about kate’ protests regarding childcare and early years. She’s putting in plenty of work for this childhood work as far as I’m concerned.

The ‘what ifs’ are Meghan’s own words! I’m not making this up. She’s not made a pledge so why should I believe she’s doing it? It doesn’t matter if she’s mentored in the past, she is asking people to pledge now and hasn’t done so herself.

I've said this before on here. The OW interview will be pulled up in 10 years time, no doubt. Even when things are stable and it's all working out.

So of course she wouldn’t share details of anyone she was mentoring or there’d be a bounty on their head/the BM/Mail would be tracking them down offering them cash to give them clips of the mentoring. Or running photos of their mum and kids.

She can still pledge without identifying anyone. I wouldn’t expect everyone being mentored to want to be publicised anyway, but she can easily control the publicity of this if she wanted. She does on other matters.

I don't think the tabloids are taken too seriously in the US - everyone knows the likes of the National Enquirer makes it up as they go.

It's a different matter in the U.K. when the Mail and Sun have a loyal audience who believes everything they print.

Yes @SpringlikeBunk, it was almost like they were waiting for Eugenie to "step out of line", so to speak. Having said that, the (non)story hasn't gained much traction.

Most of us have had loads of jobs. I certainly have. It doesn’t make me qualified to mentor someone who is in a completely different social situation to myself . Or anyone else for that matter.

@FullMoonInsomnia I don't think you need a diploma in mentoring - how do you know she has not mentored before? Because it doesn't say so on her website🙄 With my professional work and personal experience I could mentor for organisations or charities targeting young peopleFor example. Half of you say she isn't mentoring herself and just getting others to do it. And the other half bark she isn't qualified so why is she mentoring - so tedious.

This poster seems hung up on this paragraph where MM describes what the 40 friends will be doing and ignoring that she is including herself on the project overall.

The project was announced a couple of days ago, from what I know there have not been any publication of the who is being mentored by the 40. So not clear why MM not publishing her name is seen is singly not taking part in the project.
