Has anyone else seen this on Instagram? It's so lovely and natural. Their PR camp are hitting the right buttons! The Oprah interview now just seems so trashy in comparison!

It was lovely. But of course you'll get the bitter ones here that'll tell you how smug and awful they are. How dare they release a nice, family video?!

yes I get that but most of us don't have that luxury and it just goes to show how much more privileged and lucky they are.

Erm, nothing? I've been with DH over 20 years, I am typing this while we cuddle on the sofa, but I don't feel the need to share selected images of our life with millions of strangers.

They’re just having a good time at the beach. The fact that they’re being filmed though means it is a PR exercise, pure and simple. Which leaves a bad taste.

As @PatrickBatemann similarly points out - I'm sure being royalty makes up for prancing about on a deprived coastal area for an afternoon while filming.

It looks gorgeous. I wish I could have done something similar when my children were younger. I’m not sure running around with teenagers & a grumpy dh would have the same appeal!

I kind of love that photo. A 1980s Thomas Gainsborough. And as silly as it looks to us now, it's at least truthful to their wealth and status. William and Kate's 'oh we're just a middle class family in wellies' is a bit of a fib isn't it?

Not at all. I think Carole Middleton has done fabulously well and Kate never puts a foot wrong. The Cambridge children seem lovely, polite and really well brought up. They’re always perfectly turned out as well!

Diana really was absolutely stunning.

The bit I did enjoy was where Kate is chasing Louis and doing that fake run you do when you want to let your child win.
Otherwise, it was a bit over engineered for me... and possibly for George who didn't seem to be in any of the running around playing shots, just looking out to sea and around the fire pit.
The bit which mystified me is how you get your DC to climb up a sand dune that many times. What bribery are they using and can I have some? The sand dunes near us where the scene of many a toddler and also school aged child tantrum as it was just too much effort to go up them after a day at the beach. The Cambridge's must go up them at least 3 times to get the variety of shots that they do.

Films of the Royal Family on that beach have been around for years, there was one of Philip burying Anne and Charles when they were a similar age and of them running around the beach. Not sure the 'PR' had been invented then though.

The photo of Diana and Charles is just .. awful. I thought at the time how stiff and unnatural it looks.

Awww, it's a bit cheese but I think it's lovely Someone said on another, now deleted, thread that Kate always looks genuinely happy and I have to agree, she always just looks really contented, I think it's nice!

It is a fabulous video of a lovely family.

The fake stories about Willian having an affair came from a certain source and were started out of jealousy and spite,of course he didn’t have an affair,people will believe anything.Laughable.

No family is perfect. Anyone who claims that is a mealie mouthed liar.

But professional video or no, they all looked happy. They are royals - not actors.

Not his best work, but it must be hard to direct people who think they are above everyone else. Even the TOWIE lot acts more naturally!
