What a wonderful man Prince Philip was

He really was a remarkable man and what a sad day it's been watching the funeral. Hearing all the stories about his life, I have laughed, cried and been somewhere in between. I know it's not really a discussion topic but I wanted to show my respect to His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. GOD BLESS YOU SIR

There is so much footage of Prince Philip talking to people of all ages, nationalities and classes. They all seem to be laughing and enjoying his conversation. I don't think he was a saint but he was certainly someone interested in other people. He was like a lightening rod. He took the flak and spared the Queen. PP was much like my DF who was always putting his foot in it.

Mmm even if offended they were hardly going to argue or chin him though were they 😬

I agree.

Probably just as well.

It works for me.

If your children enjoy playing in a playground or on a playing field for sport, they owe that in part to Prince Philip championing the right of children to have outdoor space at a time when developers were keen to grab any land they could.

I'm just wondering what happened when people heard PP's inappropriate comments. Did they melt into a puddle on the floor or did they think 'Silly old sod' like a normal person.

You can't blame it on his old age he's been making offensive comments for a long time.

You can't blame it on his old age he's been making offensive comments for a long time. I'm not. Anyway he's dead now so there's no chance your delicate ears will be assaulted.

There's nothing delicate about my ears. You might think him amusing I don't.

There's nothing delicate about my ears. You might think him amusing I don't. I didn't think some of his remarks were amusing. I didn't think they were the crime of the century either. Constant scrutiny of what you say every time you speak might throw up some gems I should imagine.
