Would it really be so impossible for Harry to get a job?

Seriously, He has had an Eton and University education, He must have an incredible contacts file Grin Could he really not have found some suitable employment to help fund his family without resorting to reality tv? I'm thinking maybe Bonhams/Southerbys as an art expert sort of gig (with training obvs) Give himself a pupose in life?, a reason to get up in morning? No more need for dads money?

A few of them do seem to have jobs, so why not him?

Just as well he has a ghost writer to fact check particular events. If he doesn't the press will do it for him

I can hardly wait Hmm

Though in fairness the author can only check what's checkable; with more personal stuff Harry can claim whatever he lies, and has. It may or may not be that the palace know the truth, but whether they'd be prepared to outright call him a liar if he went too far is anyone's guess

Anyway it's all theory and principles at the moment, since we can't yet know what'll be in the thing

Puzzledandpissedoff · 24/07/2021 19:08

Likes, not lies - though it could have been a useful Freudian slip

Why the heck can't we have an edit function on here??

SueSaid · 24/07/2021 19:21

'Anyway it's all theory and principles at the moment, since we can't yet know what'll be in the thing'

True. We can but hope he's developed some self awareness and it is the actual truth, not just his version of it! He may even thank his family for all the support they've given him..

CauliflowerCheese30 · 24/07/2021 19:39

Every now and then that bloke saying he is Camilla's and Charles's son pops up on my news feed, I don't believe a word of it Grin

LaMarschallin · 24/07/2021 20:16

So, Thomas Markle hasn't given an interview every month since his daughter hasn't been in touch with him?

He gave an interview in March of this year which, we have been told and are aware, was five months ago.
Like M & H's interview with Oprah Winfrey was five months ago.

I hope I've got my facts right (only based on what I've read here).

AncientandFabulous · 24/07/2021 21:17

No credence to that mans claims but imagine if it were true. Could he be legitimated as John of Gaunt’s & Katherine Swynford’s dcs were? The Lancastrian claim was Through them… I’m just musing not expecting anyone to answer. But I’ll be googling all night Grin

I think you're right, @LaMarschallin, though I'm open to correction still if anyone has anything to show otherwise. Which means that if we count back, Harry has actually done ;more^ interviews or media appearances in that same period of time.
Roussette · 25/07/2021 08:18

Well.... he gave a TV interview to GMB March 2021, another one June 2021 to 60 Minutes Australia, an interview to Fox July 2021 but back to the thread title... Harry's job...

The mental health start-up employing him is opening a London office with 75 staff after demand for its app surged during lockdown and the Chief Exec praised Harry.

Would it really be so impossible for Harry to get a job?

Skiptheheartsandflowers · 25/07/2021 18:20

Thanks @Roussette, I didn't know about the June or July interviews. I think the March one is the one that was mentioned above?

Harry's mental health app job is one of the more productive things he's got involved in, so I'm glad it's proved to be good for their business to hire him. I wish he would do more of that (can't he go full time?) and less raking over the past. Perhaps he will if he sees it gets a better reception than other stuff.

SueSaid · 25/07/2021 18:27

'Harry's mental health app job is one of the more productive things he's got involved in, so I'm glad it's proved to be good for their business to hire him'

I agree it is one of the more/the only productive thing he has done since flouncing.

$259 a month to use the app though!! Not very grass roots is it. I mean blimey, I hope those with real mh problems know how to access the myriad of free stuff online.

Roussette · 25/07/2021 18:50

Janiie I agree, I could not believe the price, I thought it was a misprint! I presume in paying that you have access to lots of professionals or something, I haven't really looked into it in depth.

Skip yes the March one was Piers Morgan him and GMB.

SueSaid · 25/07/2021 18:54

'Janiie I agree'

Roussette now there's something you never thought you'd ever say! Grin

Roussette · 25/07/2021 19:03

We meet in the middle sometimes y'know!! 😂

SueSaid · 25/07/2021 19:13

We do indeed Grin. I'm always right though on most matters

Roussette · 25/07/2021 19:31

You're right when I'm not.... very rare occasions 😂

CauliflowerCheese30 · 25/07/2021 19:37

$259 a month??? Well it's not aimed at the poor is it Grin

rosetylersbiggun · 25/07/2021 19:59

#Love isn't winning with his UK family is it? If love always won he wouldn't be behaving like this, he'd be busy counting his millions and living happily ever after with his wife and kids.

But 99% of the time he is busy enjoying his money, doing his work, supporting his charities and most of all spending time with his wife and children.

It's weird how people invent a false narrative that Harry literally does nothing else except whinge about the royals, when in fact it's the opposite: he's given one single interview which contained only a couple of revelations about negative things his family had done, and one podcast which I've not listened to but doesn't appear to have contained anything especially awful.

Compared to that, the royals appear utterly obsessed with him: the constant leaks, the ongoing smear campaign in the press. The PR over-reactions. The constant media hysteria in the UK is what's feeding this entire thing and keeping the cycle going. The royals don't want the cycle to end, because they know the Press-BRF relationship relies on scandal and stories and that the press always need one person to be the Baddie. Right now it's Harry, but if Harry disappears off the radar then the press will start to look for someone else to write/make up stories about. The last thing the BFR wants is for Harry to quietly vanish and live a private life completely off the radar.

The royals either need to apologise for bullying him and his wife out and using them as sacrificial lambs to the press, or accept he wants nothing to do with them and ignore him.

But they won't because they really aren't a family at all, but a business. Look at all the feuding and problems and jealousy between brothers (Charles vs everyone), between parents and children (Charles' biography slagging off his mum and dad). It's just utterly toxic from head to toe. They don't care about anything except 'The Firm' and how the Firm appears in the press and the public eye.

Thank God Harry got his kids out of there before they could get dragged in.

Coronateachingagain · 25/07/2021 20:38

"he's given one single interview which contained only a couple of revelations about negative things his family had done"

@rosetylersbiggun 😂 only a couple in that interview? From top of my head, he accused his family of
One member being racist with comment about baby, about skin tone etc
Insinuating couple were told Archie would not get all the titles he would be entitled to
His father "cutting him off"
His father unfairly not answering show calls in time
Saying he is feeling let down by father, assuming he should understand
Family never stepped in to help them with media
Etc etc etc

So not "a couple" and certainly not washed out things, as much as you would like to.

Not to mention the allusions to his father's "genetic pain" - was that in that postcard about Mh? Can't remember.

rosetylersbiggun · 25/07/2021 20:45

So that's six things. Big deal. I'm sure there are a thousand more things he could have said.

It's really shitty that Harry's being blamed and judged for speaking about his own personal experiences, while the BRF get off scot free and aren't expected to take any blame or responsibility for doing those terrible things in the first place.

The idea that abusing someone is perfectly fine, but speaking out about having been abused is beyond the pale, is so damaging to society.

Roussette · 25/07/2021 20:50

No worse than Charles's Dimbleby interview. Harry must've learned from him!

@rosetylersbiggun

But 99% of the time he is busy enjoying his money, doing his work, supporting his charities and most of all spending time with his wife and children

I so agree with this! Last I heard about them was seeing on Twitter huge thanks to the two of them from Mothers in Need in LA for pallets and pallets of nappies.

Apart from that it is just speculation, nonsense and shit stirring stories from our ridiculous press. The DM must just hate they are sidelined now and have to scrabble around to find something to report on about them.

I'm sure they're just enjoying their newborn little girl and living their life.

Coronateachingagain · 25/07/2021 22:20

@rosetylersbiggun is that the rest of the thousand where recollections may vary?
Anyways you have to be really desperate to go for a book deal. Or really misled.

Viviennemary · 25/07/2021 22:32

I want to know if they will be back for a christening. And back for the jubilee. That will be telling. I read baby August's christening was cancelled because one of the guests got Covid.

AnnunciataZ · 26/07/2021 07:24

The christening story was clearly a tabloid rumour and as for the jubilee, I would've thought nothing is really certain at this point. Who knows if anyone will be able to attend if the pandemic gets worse?

Oldbutstillgotit · 26/07/2021 08:11

If H and M want a Windsor christening with HM they will have to wait until the autumn as she is at Balmoral and normally stays there until late September/ early October with a steady stream of visitors which will be even more important this year .

Roussette · 26/07/2021 08:13

We don't know what sort of christening they want, as the tabloids just make it up as they go along.
The likes of the DM are desperate for stories and so invent some of them.
