Oprah is annoying me already.

I feel for anyone who has been under the scrutiny that she has, the vitriol, the loss of identity and who feels suicidal thoughts and can't see a way out.

Harry obviously has a lot of family issues - and most adults on here have seen his life lived out in public - remember publicly walking behind his mum's coffin.

The Truman Show.

He has got out. It's time for people to change channels.

snowballer · 08/03/2021 22:36

@Yellownotblue

This thread is really depressing.

I’m going to bow out, I don’t care about royals, or about MM particularly, but the general lack of empathy here is making me sad.

There is a lot of suffering there. The mere fact of having money/titles doesn’t mean people don’t have true feelings.

There is suffering everywhere. Terrible, inescapable, painful suffering. They may have had a difficult, sometimes awful time, but they got what they wanted.They'll literally never be happy. They're so unbelievably privileged and yet so utterly self absorbed
TaylorSwaft · 08/03/2021 22:36

They won't bite the hand that feed them - HRH. Hence all the hush on her.

MH presents as a thorough investigator, prepared and meticulous. Doesn't really fit that she would not have researched to the nth degree.

Had she googled Harry she would have seen the huge concern that his (historical) casually racist remarks caused in the UK at a racially volatile time.
I believe he had to make a public apology, there was an Army investigation and he had to undergo some sort of rehabilitation and education.
Public displays of racism I can count by the RF are Harry, Philip and Princess Watsherchops with the massive hair.

They should be like Taylor and shake it off.

Night night

BlackbirdOtto · 08/03/2021 22:36

Sad

ParkheadParadise · 08/03/2021 22:36

Different accounts about when the baby's skin colour was discussed.

CloudPop · 08/03/2021 22:36

@ParkheadParadise

Don't think Harry is the sharpest tool in the box.
@ParkheadParadise agree with you
HeathIns · 08/03/2021 22:36

He chose Megan like a ship to have his gun battle from and sail away on

That’s very true. And very sad.

Yeah I reckon PP is right - this is all about Harry and his relationship with Charles and how he's always been pissed off about the way he treated his mother (understandably) and maybe blames him for her death. Meghan was always going to be his Firm torpedo I think.

LynetteScavo · 08/03/2021 22:37

I'm bemused that she expected to have lessons in learning the national anthem, bit was left to learn it by herself. Even I would figure I needed to learn the national anthem of I were marrying into the royal family of another country.

Stovetopespresso · 08/03/2021 22:37

@Laiste yes agree.

Cam77 · 08/03/2021 22:37

@HeathIns
Harry has always been trapped. The press, the firm, the rules, the job... yes, he got on with it and put on a smile. I agree that he has always felt trapped

Reason #1 of 500 why it needs to be abolished. It’s child abuse. I’m shocked how many can’t see it.

RunningFromInsanity · 08/03/2021 22:38

@JayDot500

Kate can’t go on TV to defend herself, or speak on any platform to put across her side

...which, in 2021, just seems toxic af.

I actually think this is going to increase Kate’s popularity in Britain.

Because she hasn’t made a fool of herself/the monarchy/the country like Meghan.
Because she does her duty without complaining because she knew what she was getting into and didn’t try to change it.
Because she wouldn’t go on a chat show to slag off her family.

AIMD · 08/03/2021 22:38

I do believe what they’re saying but I don’t think the interview was a good idea. I don’t understand what they wanted to achieve by it?

853ax · 08/03/2021 22:38

Think I'm understanding it now they wanted private life outside UK funded by RF and would do an odd tour in return.
When RF cut security payment they decided to go down the celeb in LA route to pay for security.
I never considered security so much.
They can call the queen from LA but were unable to get to her here.

Honeyroar · 08/03/2021 22:38

Why are they in a chicken run?

Hathertonhariden · 08/03/2021 22:38

She really ought to get her facts right before going on tv. So many untruths that are easily disproved.

Harry is aware of the slimming down of the Royal family (and the issues his uncle has had with the downgrading of his family - no doubt it comes up over lunch) his cousins don't do royal duties so don't get funded. He knows how the press react to royals they regard as freeloaders. So how any of the consequences of their decision came as a surprise is ridiculous.

Stovetopespresso · 08/03/2021 22:39

is tje reason its so disturbing coz it makes is examine ourselves, our 'Britishness', our 'values' our awful press??

Thesearmsofmine · 08/03/2021 22:39

I believe that her mental health was suffering, the press were disgusting and being part of that family must be bloody awful.

I feel that the interview is all for publicity in America. They don’t care what the U.K. press say about them anymore because they are now making their life in America and want the fame and money there.

Blueberries0112 · 08/03/2021 22:39

So if Meghan and Harry didn’t leave the royal family and was told their child will not get security (thats what I was understanding) were they allowed to make their own earning to provide his security? Like Meghan goes back to acting for Archie’s sake.

chomalungma · 08/03/2021 22:39

Because she does her duty without complaining because she knew what she was getting into and didn’t try to change it

Go in, be quiet, don't complain, don't have a personality, lose your identity.

Monarchists are responsible for trapping them.

LynetteScavo · 08/03/2021 22:39

@Honeyroar

Why are they in a chicken run?
Megan wants to show how she enjoys the simple life
Chickenqueen · 08/03/2021 22:40

@Yellownotblue, agree there is a lot of hate on here and I can’t see a concrete reason for it, she’s not done anything wrong.

This has made me like her even more, as others have said.

SirVixofVixHall · 08/03/2021 22:40

@Neverspeakofthisagain

Oprah's sycophantic fawning amd fake 'shocked' reactions are making H&M come across worse than if they were holding their own under a challenging amd robust interview.
So true.
FirstladyKirkman · 08/03/2021 22:40

All I have thought about throughout this interview and through reading post is how the world of social media would have dealt with Diana's Panorama interview?

She dropped a bomb on the institution and was celebrated 🤔

ChocolateSantaisthebestkind · 08/03/2021 22:40

@Honeyroar cos it's so real, genuine and authentic!
