Oprah pronouncing “May-gan” is annoying me. Neither Meghan or Harry pronounce it like that?

Think there are some things she’s just plain misunderstood.

It’s absolutely up to her and Harry whether Archie is styled “Lord” (as is his right) and whether he uses “Prince” when Charles becomes King (also his right). She genuinely seems to believe it wasn’t up to them, though.

She also seemed to believe that she married Harry in the secret ceremony (that can’t have been a legal marriage in England without witnesses) three days before the big do.

Maybe she isn’t a detail oriented person? More of a big picture type? That could lead to misunderstandings in a rule-bound environment in a foreign (to her) country.

Of course it’s known they live together at Royal Lodge and it’s known they bought a ski chalet together, which they are now trying to sell. It’s not a clanger.

It’s odd that Sarah is being called Fergie though as Fergie is the media’s name for her and not what she is called by friends and family.

He looks very subdued/ blank and was missing for the first two parts of the interview, which seems very odd

It made me laugh on The Windsors (the TV spoof,) when they got Prince William to pronounce her name 'Muggan!'

The reason that all William’s children are Prince or Princess, is because the law was changed for the eldest child of either sex to take the throne, but the titles for great grandchildren pass down the male line. There could then have been a situation where the eldest child of William was a girl, but not a Princess, even though she would become queen, while her younger brother would be a prince. So the Queen gave them all equivalent titles. This did not ever apply to Archie as he is not the direct heir. It is a complete lie to say this is because he is mixed race.
The future slimmed down monarchy has been talked about for some time, well before Meghan appeared.

I have no idea what MM is “really like”. But I don’t need her to tell me what the Royal Family is really like. The evidence over the decades is overwhelming.

To not be a detail orientated person, yet make such significant accusations on television seems at odds. Considering her love of litigation, I would have thought misunderstand in a rule bound environment were not reasonable to expect.

I am not British and finding this all very odd and confusing. Would the royal family actively stop her going to a therapist or shrink?

1 minute in, I could no longer maintain a neutral stance - there’s NO WAY she didn’t know what questions Oprah was going to ask!
We are not idiots - when you have any kind of interview, you pretty much know what you will be asked - at least the general areas.

Also I can’t believe Harry didn’t give her any indication of what being part of the family was like. If my husband didn’t give me an indication about the challenges of his family before I married into them, I would be challenging him - not them!

For me, this is really not doing them any favours.

What’s more, but this interview doesn’t highlight, one of the repeat racist offenders is Harry himself.

Archie was not made a prince because he is a Great Grandchild of the reigning monarch, not a child or grandchild and not in the early part of the line of succession!

Why did they think the UK government should pay for their security if they were no longer working for the UK government?

If Archie had been living in a property secured for his father he would've had round the clock security had they stayed as working members of the RF. They/charles could have funded a bodyguard as needed outside.

Also he completely contradicts her version of the racist skin colour comment - she says there were comments to Harry during her pregnancy.

He says it was one comment before they got married.

Not saying it wasn't a horrible thing to hear but it's not some constant barrage of skin colour related comments coming at the same time as the discussion on titles etc.

Well, she had to put up with several years of the atrocious monarchy and the racist British press. Presumably the interview was his small way of making that up to her by letting her get some things off her chest. New chapter.
