Harry & Meghan - to hope the Royals answer back?

I think the allegations in the Oprah interview are serious enough that protocol should be breached and the Royals should have a voice to give their side too.

I don’t care whether they had 50 private weddings, legal or not. What I don’t think was nice was gleefully talking about this “secret” wedding three days before, and making out every flag-waving schmuck was a sucker. Again, not nice. What beef has Meghan got with the British public?

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 11/03/2021 15:16

The conversation where they discussed this, was weird. Harry is there but completely removed, not really responding or even reacting. Same later in the henhouse re Ariel. Very strange.

redspecial · 11/03/2021 15:32

Angela Levin is Harry's biographer. Has anyone else read or heard what she has to say about this?

longwayoff · 11/03/2021 15:45

They're completely authentic. They've got chickens to prove it.

toffeebutterpopcorn · 11/03/2021 15:50

Chickens are mean...

"The biographer said Prince Harry's recent appearances were 'out of character' from the royal she once knew, who would instantly identify with everyone he spoke to.

She referenced his previous work with Help for Heroes, those with disabilities and teenagers from dysfunctional homes - but said it feels like a distant memory compared with the version of the prince she sees today. "

She wrote this a while ago and from recent stuff has the measure of Meghan. Just seen her Twitter comment on William reaction to the racist family question today.

She has said some interesting stuff about Meghan's friends feeling the need to building up her image before the interview was aired.

She was on American TV & said (I'm paraphrasing) She was initially shocked but thinking about it later, so many of the stories Megan said so firmly and with tears in her eyes are full of holes. Several of the Royals have had therapy so doesn't believe they'd have a problem with it. Very bad show for Harry to humiliate his family. The couple's influence will diminish in time and at a distance. Terrible timing in a pandemic when everyone is suffering and Prince Philip is in hospital. Prince Harry is certainly not the person she spent time with. He's not that person now, he's resentful, he's anxious. Meghan is in control of him. He adores her and would do anything to please her. She thinks Harry may look back and think how badly he's behaved. She doesn't think Meghan will. She doesn't think she understands the Royal Family, or tried to.

@Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum thank you. I dislike venturing onto twitter but might brave it to see what she has to say.

redspecial · 11/03/2021 16:10

Meghan by her own admission can cry on cue, a handy talent when you're an actress. If she has tears in her eyes, its because she wants them to be there.

GoLightlyontheEarth · 11/03/2021 16:12

William and Kate looked exhausted and wrung out today I thought.

I don't Twitter either. I just googled her because you mentioned her name. So thank you Grin

Tense and unhappy. Not surprising really. Especially as Harry has said they are ' trapped' as well as all the other stuff of course.
Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 11/03/2021 16:23

The timing was because George Floyd's trial is about to start. The interview being aired and mentioning racism on the same week is no coincidence. It is publishing the couple as America's new darlings or at least that is probably the plan. They have bills to pay after all.

That is why ever with Philip in hospital and having had heart surgery they didn't ask for airing to be delayed.

donewithitalltodayandxmas · 11/03/2021 16:34

@the80sweregreat he replied to questions asked if him though with a few words and to direct questions. Its not like he has come out with some large statement

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 11/03/2021 16:38

He was at a school for heavens sake and someone shouts that question at him!

I think that also proves the royal family are not in control of the press.

the80sweregreat · 11/03/2021 16:40

How did the reporter get into the school ?
Did they know he was going to be there?

donewithitalltodayandxmas · 11/03/2021 16:40

I'm surprised Wills said 'we're very much not a racist family' - they usually don't say anything but I can imagine it must be so frustrating to not be able to defend yourself and your family when your brother and his wife have done such public mudslinging. Shows how frustrated they are at not being able to clear their name.
Wasn't he asked though is the royal family a racist family or something like that ? Not too many answers to that and if he said no comment that wouldn't be good enough either.
Obviously you cannot speak for all your family but I would make that statement about mine but not be thinking about aunt and uncles or distant cousins , more my closest family as I can't be certain what some who I rarely see think .

donewithitalltodayandxmas · 11/03/2021 16:41

@Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum exactly

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 11/03/2021 16:50

@the80sweregreat

Because it was a public engagement. The press normally cover such things. Now they definitely will be following the family around more than normal as well.

Also being at a school it would be unlikely to of been a last minute thing. Schools need time normally to deal with this type of thing.

redspecial · 11/03/2021 16:50

Truelymadly there's a clip of her somewhere laughing about it 'tears cue Meghan 3 2 1 go'.

StormzyinaTCup · 11/03/2021 17:38

Just popped onto Angela Levin’s Twitter to see what she was saying on the matter. Did anyone scroll down to the clip from Sky News Australia? gotta love the Australian forthright approach and presenting style Grin.

When someone tells you who they are we should listen to them.

IrmaFayLear · 11/03/2021 17:49

Just saw an interesting point that whilst Harry was not happy at playing second fiddle to William, he has stepped into that very same role with Meghan.

I suppose he could step back to the extent that he is a househusband and indeed a trailing spouse, which is what was expected of Meghan. Perhaps he will be happy like this.
