@LaMarsch Where've ya been????

ButteryPuffin · 06/08/2020 19:09

The modern equivalent of "popular beat combo" for The Beatles?

Nice reference - but I seriously doubt it given that he's on the case because of his media-related experience. Someone can certainly know plenty about Twitter and how it works but have sensibly decided to steer clear of using it in a personal capacity.

Yes, me too, Buttery.

Just my (very) little joke.

Samcro · 06/08/2020 21:01

Bit confused at the Mr Bean picture.

My0My · 06/08/2020 21:20

Sir Mark Warby QC has just been promoted to be an Appeal Court Judge. So Lord Justice Warby later in the year. I’m sure he’ll still be doing this case though!

@Samcro

Bit confused at the Mr Bean picture.
Is this the same guy? Pic taken in 2006.

Andylion that is MM Barrister. David Sherborne.

YouSayWhat · 06/08/2020 21:35

I typed “sexy judge” into google and I got this. I would.

That's hilarious! I didn't even know you could buy a 'sexy judge' outfit! Nice gavel Grin

Oops. Blush still, glad I posted that pic. 😁

I double checked. The caption says it's him.
StartupRepair · 06/08/2020 22:19

Someone upthread talked about coming back to the UK being h and m's best hope of living without publicity. I don't think that is what Meghan is looking for at all. She relentlessly self promoted throughout her adult life.

AnneOfQueenSables · 07/08/2020 00:41

Yy she has but I think it would be better if she tried a different approach going forward. I don't think any aspect of this new life works for them or is healthy.
maybe I'm biased.I'd love granny to give me a Scottish castle in return for keeping negative publicity to a minimum

Tezza1 · 07/08/2020 01:21

Roussette: With his wig on, he has a distinct look of Mr. Bean to me!

To me, he looks more like the Elizabethan Blackadder, who I found incredibly attractive.

To each his own.

ButteryPuffin · 07/08/2020 01:58

Soz @LaMarschallin - it's hard to tell on here sometimes...

Roussette · 07/08/2020 06:55

Trouble is... when you say that, I can't get past Rowan Atkinson who played Blackadder. And who also played Mr. Bean. There must be a similarity Grin

H has said that Social Media is causing “ crisis of hate.” Apparently H and M have spent the past few weeks working with business leaders to enact positive change.

EthelMayFergus · 07/08/2020 08:42

Good grief! On what authority is Harry ringing 'business leaders, heads of major corporations and chief marketing officers' to tell them what to invest in. And why do they feel 'it necessary to say our part'? Do they honestly think that business leaders are waiting to hear their opinion on how they could do better? I suppose they must. And what on earth is a 'crisis of truth'? They really need to stop doing these motivational speeches, telling everyone else what they should be doing, the comments below the line are savage.

SetPhasersTaeMalkie · 07/08/2020 08:49

I thought it was an op-ed, not a speech?

Anyway, I can't say I disagree with him.

EthelMayFergus · 07/08/2020 08:49

I wish there was an edit function, I meant to delete the last bit. (Not that it matters, I think all of my recent posts are quickly deleted anyway, despite not breaking any guidelines.)

EthelMayFergus · 07/08/2020 09:04

Would you welcome investment/advertising advice from Harry if you were the head of a corporation SetPhasers? Would you appreciate him ringing you to impart his business wisdom?

Roussette · 07/08/2020 09:05

I don't disagree with the idea either... whether he will get anywhere is another matter.
I doubt he is ringing them and telling them what to invest in. I've read the op-ed. Good on him if he can achieve anything, to my mind he is to be applauded, not reviled, for sticking his head above the parapet and talking about this
compassion v hate
truth v misinformation
etc.
Even opening a discussion is a good thing but obviously it will not go down well with some.

EthelMay I haven't seen all of your posts being deleted on this thread? I presume you mean somewhere else?

Personally I can't see anything wrong with your post

Thing is, it all sounds pleasingly fuzzy - no one will say they want more unpleasantness online - but what are they actually arguing should be done? That's the hard part and it's absent.
