Andrew is only one person of many who has allowed themselves to be put in this position. There are others too who are, arguably, more influential

As said before, IMO this is why the judge sanctioned the unsealing of records which she must have known would result in cries of "unfair trial"

Very easy, now, to avoid all the dirt coming out by claiming "oh dear, the judge made a mistake - can't possibly try the accused now - sorry about that"

@TheNavigator

It is interesting how riled posters get when you hold a mirror up to how their endless threads ripping MM to pieces are perceived Grin
Perceived by you, you mean.
Wolfgirrl · 04/08/2020 12:56

I don't think it's a guilty conscience Navigator. I think it is just a frustratingly predictable line when people try to silence criticism by using claims of sexism etc.

Unless you have a clear reason as to why the criticism against her is based on her demographic, you should probably stop flinging accusations around.

Anotherlovelybitofsquirrel · 04/08/2020 12:59

Lovely picture and greeting posted by Clarence House

I wonder if she'd secretly hoped they'd all ignore her birthday so she could be all woe is me about them not wishing her happy birthday Grin

I feel that the majority of times people accuse other posters sexism/racism/classism on this thread is because the conversation isn’t going the way they want it to or they know they are fighting a losing battle and so they they accuse others of racism/sexism/classism to divert the fact that they’re losing the argument.

For example, the PA post really did come out of no where and was not relevant to what was being discussed.

Just saying.

AnneOfQueenSables · 04/08/2020 13:17

It's easy to rile people by telling lies and being offensive. It's hardly rocket science. In fact it's so common on here we have the acronyms cfs and gfs to cover exactly that behaviour. I'd scroll back to see your accusations of classism and sexism against the poster who keeps targeting Angela Kelly but we both know I wouldn't find them. Defending a princess whilst condoning the trashing of female staff isn't an act of class or female solidarity ...Hmm

A PP mentioned the impact of Epstein on the US election. I have read comments from prominent Democrat supporters saying they feel torn on the Epstein issue because they want people to be held accountable but they don't want it to impact Democrat chances in the election. There definitely seems an undercurrent that Dems think the revelations will hurt them more than Trump. Clinton invited GM to his DD's wedding. That certainly implies quite a close relationship.

TheChristmasPrincess · 04/08/2020 13:19

I love how classy the royal family were in acknowledging Meghan’s birthday and wishing her a good day!

It would have been very easy to have completely ignored the occasion considering everything that’s happened recently!

mrscampbellblackagain · 04/08/2020 13:26

No one has a good word to say about Andrew do they? I can't see any 'positive' thread about him Wink

I do judge the Queen for how much and how long she get Andrew get away with stuff, all sorts of financial dubious dealings for example.

lifestooshort123 · 04/08/2020 13:28

HAM don't want a private life, they want a secret life with drips fed when it suits them.

I know. I have to say I do too. Bearing in mind that's this is a forum for mums and it's considered below the belt not to show unbridled support for a fellow mum - or whatever the turn of phrase is that's been used - I have to say I have wondered whether the nation's gain at her being a fabulous Queen came at the cost of being the mum she might have preferred to be. However - she was raised by people who met and were influenced by Queen Victoria. So maybe her 'style' was to be expected.

GeorgeMichaelsEspadrille · 04/08/2020 13:42

What 'class'is Megz then?

Surely we need to know this before we can be accused of being classist?

Roussette · 04/08/2020 13:55

He is a member of the RF and just as relevant as talking about Princess Anne and Prince Charles who have both been mentioned loads of times on this thread.

OVienna your post of 12.07 was v interesting

Bit of a difference between making comparisons or references to them, and saying 'no one's talking about PA!' on a thread about other royals. That's whataboutery.

are you talking about the meme I put up? its a thread about the RF. so the RF get mentioned. its relevant. although if I could be Doctor Who I would go back in time and not post it. sadly its given the people who want this thread deleted ammo.
Roussette · 04/08/2020 14:25

You and me both. I really do get so tired of the endless mantra about HM "never putting a foot wrong" when she's prepared to indulge this horror, to say nothing of what she's enabled from some of the others

Okay so it's her son - I imagine we all get that - but what goes on behind closed doors and the choice to put two fingers up to the public by displays of support are, for me, two very different things

Thisfucker · 04/08/2020 15:18

Looks like the thread has moved on to judging HMQ for all her shortcomings. Well at least Meghan is getting some respite.

TheNavigator · 04/08/2020 15:19

I think having PA accompany her to church after his car crash interview was a far bigger two fingers to her 'subjects' than anything M & H have done. It confirms the contempt in which she really holds the little people.

AnneOfQueenSables · 04/08/2020 15:22

Maybe HM (or her staff) think it's better to keep PA inside and try to ascertain exactly what happened ... rather than pushing him out and having to read revelations in the media. If I was running the RF (from the Firm pov rather than family pov) I'd think H&M are a good example of why it's better to try to keep people in the fold than out. If people feel pushed out or aggrieved then they can be volatile and I'm sure PA has many more stories he could leak than H&M do. Considering Blair, etc have been linked to Epstein, there could be government/national security considerations impacting how the RF deal with PA too.
